Ojing-eo geim (2021)
A predictable snooze-fest
I put off watching this show for a long time, trying not to buy into the hype. To this day, I still don't understand what all the hype was about. This show was just as boring as it was slow and predictable. It's like watching 'The Hunger Games' meets 'Battle Royale' (which has 100x better storyline & character development than this) meets 'Saw' with a light dusting of 'The Purge' and 'Liar Game'.

Don't compare this to Fifty Shades because it's much better
I am not a big fan of romance movies... Erotic movies? Yes, I am a huge fan. This movie exceeded my average expectations. I thought this movie was going to be another cookie-cutter, soft core, Fifty Shades inspired "lady bean flicker". It wasn't. The sex scenes outshined the rest of the movie, but it was still enjoyable to watch from start to end. Not to give too much away, but the ending is not your typical ride-off-into-the-sunset happy ending, and that's my overall favorite aspect of the movie. No generic happily ever after.
Okay, so the main plot of the storyline isn't the most realistic (most romance novels aren't either), but it was still fun to get wrapped up in the sexiness of the actors and the characters they portrayed. NOT ALL MOVIES ARE MEANT TO BE TRUE-TO-LIFE REALISTIC! Some movies are meant to have fantasy story plots with guys who have 16-pack abs and a crap load of money, a huge mansion in Europe, and a beautiful woman they can take on a stereotypical shopping spree movie montage. Sometimes you just want to watch a movie to escape reality, not to relive it all over again. This movie does just that. It puts your mind in a fantastical, kind of farfetched, sexy and romantic haze. Let your imagination run wild every now and again.

Better than I expected
I'm happy this movie wasn't a high budget shoot 'em up style action movie (a la The Rock, Tom Cruise, or Jason Statham). I wouldn't say it was super low budget either. It was kind of a middle-of-the-road budget/production type of movie, which was the perfect thing to watch while doing boring work.
The acting was adequate coming from mid-level actors, but I wasn't really hooked on the main plot...Brooklyn becoming a pawn in Texas' bid to secede from the U.S.. However, this shoot 'em up survivalist movie was watchable...and pretty fun to watch as well. Like many other viewers, I didn't have any good expectations when I first started watching, but as the movie progressed, I was happily surprised that I was getting more and more hooked.
My favorite part of the movie is that the main protagonists don't form a romantic, sexual, or even overly-emotional bond...and best yet, there is no happily ever after where everyone is reunited & walks off into the sunset. I really enjoyed the ending the most. It's not your typical Hollywood action movie ending.

A suspenseful drama grips you till the end
I very recently watched this film & was really intrigued by the storyline. When I first heard about this film, I brushed it off, thinking it was going to be like another version of the movie "Wicker Park": a man frantically & nearly obsessively searching for the missing woman whom he's desperately in love with. How wrong I was.
This film contains a well-balanced mixture of suspense, drama, raw innocence, & dark grit. The storyline gripped me all the way until the very end, with plenty of plot twists & that just- when-you-think-you've-figured-it-out edginess. Actor Sam Heughan really steals the spotlight with his incredible portrayal of a vulnerable man on the brink of self-destruction & just barely holding onto his last shreds of composure, all while trying to solve the bizarre & mysterious disappearance of the woman he loves.
I must admit the storyline starts off a little too slow in the beginning, but gradually the story picks up its pace & really captivates your attention till the very end. It's like a cat & mouse game, trying to gather clues, which become pieces to an elaborate puzzle. This film offers a good dose of secrets, espionage, chases, raw emotions, & action.
To sum up this film in one sentence: IT'S THE CLOTHES THAT MAKE THE MAN.
