I happen to like the movie. The story is unique and original and imaginative. A bit confusing in the beginning, but intriguing. A woman doctor tends to a hysterical French anthropologist in ER of a large city hospital (L. A.) . He somehow transfers his last days memories into her mind and the story goes on from there, detailing his encounters and experiences with "nomads," who are evil and mysterious spirits who roam the world. It is definitely worth a look and is refreshingly different.

Only a neurotic like me can fully appreciate the Felix Unger character. Jack Lemmon was the star of this movie, but the casting was great and ALL of the actors did great jobs. It's the old old story of conflicting characters trying to live in peace with each other, despite the differences in personality. The timing is always exquisite in the movie and I honestly don't think it could have been done better. My only regret is that we never got to see the wives.

BTW, the term "blaxploitation" is a misnomer. These movies of the '70s didn't exploit blacks at all. They were designed to SATISFY blacks who wanted to hurt whites for their perceived mistreatment, much as some do now. The makers of these flicks always found the creepiest looking white guys they could find to play the Evil White characters, which these movies were full of.

It's one of those you have never heard of and decide to check out, then it takes six seconds to realize you hate it. Looked like two-bit Baywatch casting with lots of closeups of made up little faces, then you say adios.
