Baby Reindeer (2024)
Incredibly disturbing
The low score is not for the quality of the series. The acting is solid, the characters are very interesting and the storyline is good. The problem is that the story contains very disturbing elements. Episode 4 shows how the main character is sexually abused and raped while being drugged. There is violence and mental abuse. Gadd is incredibly brave in his portrayal and as said, it's a good show but it still makes for a very uncomfortable watch and for me, the good doesn't outweigh the bad.
The end does give some relief but also makes you believe that Donny will slip right back into his destructive behavior. Not for me.
Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022)
Epic, very weird movie that gave me the feels
So if you are autistic (like me) or have anxiety this movie will probably feel like how your brain works 24/7, extra points if you have parents from Asia. If not, this movie probably feels like someone on a good dose of their favorite drug.
The movie starts with a movie tackling the most annoying part of daily life; her taxes but then spins into an epic story about shifting worlds and how to maintain family ties.
If you are hoping for a normal/rational movie, don't watch it. The storyline is great but completely weird. If you are open to something more creative then this is really great. It's rather long though so strap in and enjoy the ride.
Roxane (2019)
Cute and funny movie
This movie is what you would call dainty and gentle. A farmer is about to lose it all and comes up with a crazy plan, with the help of his English neighbor who happens to also be an actress. In between the funny and sometimes slightly ridiculous parts of the movie, the harsh reality of struggling farmers is shown like suicide, asking for loans and ever dropping prices of products. The movie is not fast paced and those who expect an educated take on a french farmers life should look elsewhere. This is just a cute and quirky movie about a desperate farmer, his chicken, his family and his crazy English theater teacher/neighbor.

Great assassin movie!
Great action packed movie. The main character struggles between her job as an assassin and being a mom. She approaches her job cool and calculated while her role as a mom is packed with emotions and in this movie it's beautifully portrayed. The storyline of her daughter struggling with teenage life is equally interesting. And yes, she kills like a Jedi Master goes through stormtroopers but the way these scenes are filmed makes you glued to the screen. And yes, certain elements are a bit more comical than realistic like the get together of washed up assassins at a restaurant owned by a one handed assassin but that makes the movie fun to watch. Good storyline, great characters, solid ending!
Holy Water (2009)
Not a masterpiece but quite funny
This is a great movie for a rainy Tuesday evening. It's not a masterpiece and the storyline has no great dept but the actors are putting in a great effort to make this movie enjoyable.
It does start a bit slow but picks up speed towards the end. If you however are one for bold American comedies, this is not for you. It's more a giggle here and there. That fact that there is a happy ending (no pun intended) that is rather unbelievable but wholesome nonetheless helps. It did rush through the last bit though and after the slow start in the beginning I sort of expected more. Good bit of fun though.
Only Murders in the Building (2021)
Really like this original show
This show is amazing. It's funny, quirky and best of all; original. The interactions between the 3 main characters Oliver, Charles and Mabel seems a bit odd in the beginning but just gets better with each episode. Sometimes the show has a moment of absurdity but after a while you just take it as a cool quirk. The build up to the unraveling of the crime is well done and the-who-done-it part was exciting and fun. The second season involves another murder but somehow they managed to make it all (somewhat) believable. The first episode can seem bit much but hang in there, it's totally worth it. I'm going to watch it again, that says a lot!
