Jack Ryan (2018)
WAY better than I expected!
It's like one long movie....and I mean that in a very good way.
Acting is a 10. Production is a 10. Story is an 8.
Overall, we really enjoyed this. So well acted and the location shoots are very believable. This os not a low budget show. It's also not really a true version of Jack Ryan character- but that's not bad. Just different. One of the executive producers is Tom Clancy's son(we assume since father passed away years ago).
Also Michael Bay is an executive producer- well known action director.
Amazon has a hit on their hand. I like that every show got better. None were boring. Let's just hope season 2 stays the course.
Gary Unmarried (2008)
Never got props it deserved
This is one of those comedies I just wonder how popular it could have been with better promotion and/or better time slot. It truly was a great comedy. I always laughed. And to be able to remember scenes almost 10 years later is a testament to the great writing and acting this show had. Jay was perfect for this role. And the son was such a great bonus (the scene where he goes on a first date with a new neighbor was priceless). I wish this show would have been on longer for others to have the chance to discover it.
Rookie Blue (2010)
Fluff
I REALLY wanted to like this show. The previews gave me hope. Sadly, the previews were better than the show really is. Everything is so unrealistic that it is so hard to take the show seriously. I will say, some of the acting is okay. Missy is worth watching (and her acting is okay). But the script is really, really fluffy. Without giving any spoilers: from the very first show to the most recently aired episode, everything that happens is predictable or so far out there unrealistic that you can't help but laugh at it. If your looking for a show more like a daytime soap where everyone sleeps with everyone, than this just might be up your alley. I think the show MIGHT have potential. If they actually get some real cops to consult with, make it have a little more edge to it, and get new writers...then maybe. Until then, watch the first season of Southland - a cop show you can believe in and enjoy.
