The Osbournes (2002)
Best reality show on tv
This series gets off to a promising start. I just finished watching the first episode and the rocked. I started laughing from the very beginning and didn't stop until the end. I have been a fan of Ozzy for a long time, and now I get a glimpse of what his life is like. Hopefully this show will last a while because it is way better then Real World and Road Rules combined.
The Jamie Kennedy Experiment (2002)
Really funny
Sure the show is similar to other hidden camera shows, the difference is that it is not as cheesy. Jamie actually pulls funny gags and creates funnier situations then any other hidden camera show I've seen. The only problem I can see is that if the show gets too popular, people might start recognizing Jamie. In my opinion, this is one of the best shows that the WB has to offer.
Clerks (1994)
Funny as hell. And by funny, I mean boring.
****Contains minor spoiler, maybe******
I saw this movie expecting it to be funny and full of wit. Boy, was I wrong. I don't see how anyone could like this movie. I also think people are stupid to have it ranked in the top 200 movies of all time. Every other movie made by Kevin Smith (Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma) were better than this even though they weren't that great. I have to admit, I actually laughed at one part when Randal is being rude to this female customer. But that was it. Everything involving Dante and every other character including Jay and Silent Bob sucked. This movie is not worth renting. Pass on this one folks.
The Score (2001)
Slow start, fast ending
******SPOILERS***********
The beginning of this movie is pretty slow. There is a lot of dialog which is not needed. But the movie sets itself up well. Edward Norton's performance is excellent. De Niro is good as well. Brando's and Basset's characters aren't really in the movie much which leaves more room for the actual robbery. The movie picks up after roughly 30 minutes when the planning for the robbery begins. The robbery is cool and has a lot of suspence. The end of the movie made me mad. I was rooting for Edward Norton's character but he got jipped. Also the ending was a little sudden. It would have been better if they had cut some of the dramatic dialog at the beginning and had more interaction between De Niro and Norton.
6 out of 10
The Mummy Returns (2001)
Not as good as the first one.
*********SPOILERS***********
While this movie is enjoyable, it is no where near as good as the first one. First of all, The Mummy doesn't seem as powerful or as intimidating as he does in the first one. Then they come up with all this stuff about Brendan Fraser being a warrior of god because he has a tattoo that he didn't have in the first one. And now Rachel Weisz is the reincarnation of the Pharaoh's daughter and knows how to fight and can navigate pyramids, which she couldn't do in the first one. The whole movie builds to the showdown with the Scorpion King who turns out to be a big cartoonish monster.
Still, this movie has good scenes. The war scenes with Anubus' army, the sai fighting with Rachel Weisz and Patricia Velasquez, and the fight between Brendan Fraser and Arnold Vosloo.
If you enjoyed the first one, this is worth seeing in the theater because of the special effects.
Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace (1999)
Good, but not great.
Everyone knows that Jar Jar and his whole race made this movie not as good as it could have been. It seems like the Gungans were just created for little kids and to make money off toys for kids. The first 3 were much better in that the stories were more serious. Still, this movie was very good and I am expecting the next two to be much better.
Jui kuen II (1994)
Best martial arts I've ever seen
Jackie Chan at his best. This movie has everything you could want. It has a plot, direction, humor, and most of all the best fight scenes ever. What makes the fight scenes so good is the coreography and the fact that they don't use wires as some other movies do. No other martial arts film compares to this one. A must see.
