Verdens verste menneske (2021)
A thorough international film
As an English-speaker, you know when a movie first comes on in their respective foreign language, and you see the English subtitles - you shift in your seat because you know you have to actually pay attention to the tiny letters to understand what's happening in the film... well, for The Worst Person in the World, the adjustment is minor and very much long forgotten as the story set up captivates your attention and you're eager to learn what unfolds.
The dialogue, the story's structure, b-roll images, production set and design are all artsy and do a great job of capturing Norway's environment and culture.
This movie certainly deserved the Oscar nomination because it's just a GOOD movie, and you don't get bored halfway through the film as other movies nowadays.
El Club (2019)
Started off good, then, seemingly lost interest.
At last, a Mexican series of rich kids from a wealthy background, full of ambition to create a name for themselves.
Started off so well, but the 20+ episodes in the episode dragged the story much longer. The ending seemed rushed but I appreciated the storyline taking place in Mexico.
