Convict Stage (1965)
A stage coach is robbed by the Simms brothers and they kill a woman passenger. Now her brother seeks revenge.
This is the worst Western that I have ever seen. The editing and direction is terrible. Characters that are shot fall to the ground before you hear the shots fired. The whole movie seems to be out of sync. Nothing is explained and it seems you have to guess what is going on and why. The acting is terrible. The dialog is terrible. This is just a terrible movie. The two female passengers must ride on top of the stage because the marshal is transporting the two prisoners. Give me a break - I have never seen something like this in the hundreds of Westerns that I have watched. They were not riding on the booth, they were riding on the top of the stage.
The Rifleman: The Brother-in-Law (1958)
Lucas's brother-in-law pays an unexpected visit
When Lucas's brother-in-law, Johnny Gibbs shows up in Northfork it's quite a surprise. Johnny is an ex-champion rodeo cowboy and immediately becomes Marks idol. Unfortunately things haven't been going to good for Johnny lately. When Lucas finds out about his recent troubles, he becomes very upset. Mark idolizes Johnny and Lucas doesn't want to see him get hurt. Lucas even seems a little jealous. Johnny gets to test his rodeo skills and make things right in his life. Mark isn't disappointed and learns another important lesson in life. Lucas again realizes that Mark is a pretty bright boy and he is doing a good job of raising him.
The Rifleman: The Indian (1959)
Michael Ansara guest stars as Federal Marshal Sam Buckhart. His assignment is to bring in the person who started a fire on a ranch that killed two people.
Quite an interesting episode. An Indian is a Federal Marshal and his assignment is to bring in the person responsible for starting a fire at a ranch which kills two people. The town readily accepts him until they find out he is an Indian. It's interesting to see how Lucas handles the angry mob. Frank DeKova has a small part as an Indian Chief. I think he's better known a Chief Wild Eagle on "F-Troop". The way Lucas handles the angry mob is very clever and very helpful to Buckhart. In this episode as in others, the Sheriff Micah is virtually useless. Sometimes I wonder why he was even on the show. He's always being bailed out by Lucas.
