Pride, Prejudice, and Mistletoe (2018)
Same Ol' Tired Actors, Plot and Storyline
They could really toss this one in the trash - I doubt anyone would miss it. Lacey Chabert should find another career - when I first saw her in these movies she was cute and believable. Now her parts seem contrived and she comes off as bitter and, well, cranky. There is absolutely no romantic connection between her and any "prime suspect" let alone the guy in this movie. In my opinion she dragged this movie down - the "prissy little princess ain't happy ever" is just her real personality oozing out - it always does with these types. I wish Hallmark would just use fresh, new people because these folks are just collecting a paycheck. Someone up and coming would likely give 110% and make these movies believable. Do yourself a favor and watch something else, or even clean the bathroom - you'll have a much better evening!
Beyond the Elements: Reactions (2021)
Great Show - Host is Annoying
This show is very informative and interesting, However, the host is distracting and annoying. He has a clear voice, but his exaggerated and nervous laugh detracts from the educational value of this program. He over acts and sounds like a middle school nerd going through puberty. He is speaking with experts in various fields and reacts with comments like "cool" as well as other prepubescent utterances. I'm watching it now as I write - he just let out a little school-girl squeal after seeing a controlled explosion. This show would be great if there were a calm and intelligent host presenting this information without the goofiness.
Silent Night: A Song for the World (2020)
Beautiful Story / Some Performers Ruined It
The story is well laid out, with plenty of history and some excellent renditions of the original music and lyrics. Unfortunately, some of the performers had to add their own deviations that made parts of this almost unbearable. These performers described how beautiful and perfect the original version is, then went on to add useless and unnecessary twangs to it - it was a real distraction. Kudos to those performers who kept the song the same, even in their native languages. Korean, Indonesian, Israeli were some of the best. It is worth watching, though, due to the narration and history, and many of the performances. I'm glad I watched it.
