Hannah Montana (2006–2011)
9/10
Finally a good new show!
10 August 2006
I think Hannah Montana is a far-fetched, but good idea. It's creative and new, and actually had me laughing a few times. It's about a teen (Miley Stewart) who lives a double life as teen pop sensation Hannah Montana. While dealing with her secret celebrity life, she also has to deal with regular teen problems and the occasional clash of her superstar and normal life. The lines are fairly well-written with some good jokes. Yes, some of the punch lines can be seen from a mile away, but it's a good show for all ages and one of Disney's better creations.

Miley Cyrus plays Hannah Montana/Miley Stewart well. She's good at portraying the hardships of being a teen (as well as being a pop superstar) probably because she is one. Her voice is better than most and she acts really well.

Emily Osment plays Lilly Truscott, one of Miley's best friends. She's a little eccentric but lovable. Emily plays this role wonderfully.

Mitchel Musso plays Oliver Oken, who is obsessed with Hannah Montana in the beginning (before he realizes that it's his best friend Miley). Oliver is a typical guy, trying to impress the ladies and all that. But in the end he's a good friend and always willing to help out Miley and Emily.

Billy Ray Cyrus (Miley Cyrus's dad) plays Robby Ray Stewart, Miley Stewart's dad and manager (when she's Hannah Montana). Billy Ray actually could work on his lines because he's not the best actor and his punch lines are often not funny at all. However, he and Miley have a good chemistry going on, and you can see that whenever they're around each other. It pays to actually be the father, I guess.

Overall, this is a really good show and I give it 9 stars out 10. It's much better than some of the other newer shows like American Dragon: Jake Long, the Emperor's New School, Life With Derek, etc. I highly recommend Hannah Montana!

Zoey 101 (2005–2008)

a nice show

this is a nice show to watch if you have spare time. it's about a girl (zoey) who goes to a boarding school and deals with problems that teens/preteens are dealing with today. the storyline is fairly well-written.

sometimes the acting could be improved, but overall the actors portray their problems well and have realistic solutions.

it's very age-appropriate and like i said, nice. there are some cute moments, but to counter that, some times it feels as though the plot is going nowhere.

the scenery is beautiful at the boarding school, and it's very charming.

overall, this show is good and i recommend it if you are alone with spare time.

The Emperor's New School (2006–2008)

Terrible mistake on Disney's part
30 June 2006
Warning: Spoilers
I think this was a HORRIBLE mistake on Disney's part. First off, Kuzco does NOT need to pass "emperor school" to become emperor! That's never happened before. Secondly, the new voices don't sound like the originals at all. Very poor redo. And while I adored the movie The Emperor's New Groove, the New School is just stupid. Like all the jokes are the same, and many are from the movie. The plot gets redundant, always Yzma (is that how you spell it?) trying to become empress, Kuzco stopping her, etc. Or Kuzco learning to become a better person. I think Kuzco gets annoying with his constant complaints and questions. He is a spoiled brat and it bothers me. I do not think this is worth five minutes of your time, much less a half hour.

An average show- not worth your time
30 June 2006
I think the idea of a show centered around the hardships of living with an annoying stepbrother can get tiring. How many times can you prove that he is irritating and frustrating? It deals with true teen problems like crushes, fights, day jobs, etc. But so do a lot of better Disney shows that don't get repetitive. In my opinion, there aren't a lot of ways you can express that your new brother is a pain. The acting is all right, but actors seem a bit old for their characters. Ashley Leggat, I think, overdoes her acting, but Michael Seater is all right. The music in the background is also rather annoying. Overall, I think this show isn't worth your time.
