Ojing-eo geim (2021)
It's good
I didn't like the final episode that much. Way too much mellow drama for my personal taste. I would have preferred if more then one character survived, those characters being Seoul Gihun, Kang Sae, Sang Woo, and Jang. I really didn't like how Jang went out.
Overall a good intense show.
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021)
Average
Average protagonists, Average Villains, Average world building. Speaking of the villain I loved how he left his son to drown then proceeded to save him from the monster.
Painfully generic and black panther is better.
The Suicide Squad (2021)
Fun Movie
This movie is incredibly funny, you will laugh a lot in this movie. It's way better then the last suicide squad movie. The main group of characters are all unique and funny In there own way.
My only real flaw is Polka Dot Man. I wish he didn't die for laughs he was funny.
Suicide Squad (2016)
Awful Joker
An Awful Joker, a Batman who beats up someone in front of his kid, a fire dude who just repeats the same backstory over and over again, and in general just weak characters especially the villain.
Harley Quinn was cool I guess, and my the dead shot guy played by Willow smith. Haven't watched in a while.
All American (2018)
Dropping this show
After reading that Jordan and Simone relationship may or may not have gotten married in season 3 .
I had to conclude that relationship had to be written by a woman because no self respecting man is writing that plot line.
Asher, Billy Baker, Corey James, and Darnell are the only good characters in the show. Don't watch this crap.
Iron Man (2008)
A weak third act
All the characters here are good/great for the most part. You will definitely like Iron Man, the pacing is fine, the cgi for the most part shouldn't bother you.
Only real problem I had with the movie was the final antagonist. They turned one of Iron Man friends who was a pretty cool dude into an antagonist rather then just keep the terrorist guy as the villains entire story.
Soul (2020)
It's good.
This movie was good. I'm thankful Pixar didn't mess up on there first film with a black lead.
Flaws.
For the most part during this film I didn't care much about the events happening in the soul world. My main enjoyment of the film came from when our main character Joe Gardner was in the human world.
I would have liked to see Joe Gardner go on that date, that band player in the group that never speaks actually talk, and for 22 to have apologize for trying to run away.
Positives. A lot of the human characters were enjoyable and even the soul character. The entire second half of the movie was great and the final song the main character play was a touching scene. Joe Gardner is just overall a good character.
Naruto: Shippûden (2007)
One of the most popular Manga for a reason.
If you haven't watched your missing out. This series is great.
The Owl House (2020)
The Owl House Season One is Okay
Our main character is a weirdo troublemaker thrusted in the magical world of the Boiling Isle. Now I'm going to honest I just don't really find her to be a compelling character. While she isn't a bad character by any stretch and I don't really have issues with how she written. It is of my opinion that in particular in that first episode they should have focus more on how her day to day life is.
On Disney Plus at the time 2:30 she is already thrusted into the magic world and she never goes back. We are told she has no friends in fact only imaginary, she's in the principal office for all the shenanigans she does does in school and as a result her mother is trying to send her into a summer camp in order to normalize her. I want to explore that for just for the majority of the first episode.
Show me what it was like for to have zero friends, show me more scenes what her classmates and teachers thought of her like actual comments. Show Luz hanging out with imaginary friends as some sort of way to cope without having any. I think if they had done this, and let's say by the end of the episode she enter the magical world instead of the beginning I would have like her better.
Know what I do like about her that she wins her battle through strategy. In fact pretty much every battle she wins throughout out smarting although not usually the brightest opponent/monster. As while she is no weakling she isn't a super powerful witch who can body character with power alone.
Gus and King
Alright these two characters seem to really depend on how much you find them funny. Gus is a young boy who skipped a few grades and is smart and while king is best friend WITH THE STRONGEST WITCH IN THE BOILING ISLE. A line repeated heavily throughout the show by a character I will get to later. So yeah I just don't find these two characters really funny at all and I don't like them.
I have small feeling king is going to turn out to be some sort of actual powerful demon one day and get more development but until then then he is an okay character I don't expect Gus to ever be a good character. Which sucks as there two male characters with the most screen time.
Principal Bump
Okay so to be honest I had high expectations with him. From my experience the principal character in schools filled with gifted kids are usually very wise and better character than what principal bump turned out to be.
Like I expected an Albus Dumbledore or an Ozpin from rwby two characters I like. Who is usually quite fond of the main character and is overall a really nice person with a sad backstory(Maybe he does have a sad backstory it's only been one season). This guys he's just kind of there. He just He wasn't important he didn't have any badass scenes he's just kind of there doing stuff nothing of note sadly. I hope he plays a more important role in the student future lives in the future.
Amity Blight
Amity Blight. Typical girl of an either a powerful/royal family who started of as a mean girl due to how her parents raised but eventually either becomes friends with the main character or falls in love with her. You have seen it before it's nothing special Whice from rwby, Noelle from black clover are examples. These two examples are characters I quite like especially Whice. So when she first appeared I thought she would be my favorite. That sadly wasn't the case.
I'm going to talk about her ruined friendship with Willow Park. In episode 15 understanding Willow we learned the reason she stopped Being friends with willow is not because she just randomly starting hanging out with mean girls it's because her father and mother gave her an ultimatum to stop associating with Willow or she will never get into magical school they both currently go into.
The key word here is associating as it does not explain why in the third episode Animity goes out of her way to bully Willow due to her project being bad. They are both alone in the woods none of her friends were aroundDespite this she just decided to bully her just because she can on her own accord. Why doesn't she just ignore her given that deep down she supposedly want to be friends with Willow? There is also an episode where Amity calls Luz a bully and man that was just a stupid line coming from her.
Emira and Edric Blight.
You would expect these two care to be as mean if not meaner then Amity Blight seeing as there siblings. However nope while they are mean to Amity they aren't mean to any other character in the story. They both clearly don't uphold the values there parents have taught them and I found that to be pretty cool.
Lilith Clawthorne and the Emperor Coven.
Yeah so the Emperor Coven is an actual joke in this series. These guys are supposed to be the top of the top wizards in this series. There so incompetent it's not even funny there are like zero badass or even cool characters in this coven.
Principal Terry is in it but like I said earlier he just kind of there and hasn't done anything of note. We have the Emperor who gets out smarted by a 14 year old in the finale. The Emperor Coven who repeated get rekt by Eda Cathorn throughout the series.
I know she supposed to be the strongest witch I still believe they can make the Coven more competent. Then we got Lilith Clawthorne who while I like the fact that does care for her sister and I like the twist of her being the one to curse Eda.
Loses to Eda pretty much each time although the fights were pretty cool despite how short these fights are. These guys are storm troopers when they really should be the current scout troop from AOT.
The Emperor and other antagonist
While I don't like how he got out smarted by Luz in the finale he is clearly being set up for something cool I'm interested. There are a lot of villain of the week episodes in this first season. These villains are very bland, although provide some cool fights.
Finally we got Eda Clawthorne the only character I quite like in this series. She is badass, entertaining, and has some cool fights throughout the series. In the finale where she sort of sacrificed herself to save Luz it's touching good character.
Overall I give this show a 7/10 a bit boring.
The Mandalorian (2019)
The Sequel Trilogy Never Happened
This series is the sequel trilogy, and an expansive universe filled with cool unique characters. Not that small world the sequel trilogy decided to provide.
Cobra Kai (2018)
Legendary
COBRA KAI!!!!! This a fun little show filled with petty, adults and Highschool drama.
Hilda (2018)
Watch it!
What I really love about the world of Hildia is that unlike a series like let's say Gravity Falls. The average citizen know full well that weird creatures like trolls exist.
This series has great enjoyable characters and is a really fun watch give it a shot
WandaVision (2021)
8.2/10.
Wanda is a character who needs to pay for her crimes and I hope in future content she gets punished for what she did. Still a great character though.
I think Monica was sympathizing with Wanda too much as again she was forcing her will on Random strangers to act as puppets.
At the end she tells Wanda that the towns people will never know what she sacrificed for them.....good because why would they care about the woman who literally enslaved them for her own happiness.
I liked how Vision fight with the other Vision forgoes the big epic battle in favor of a nice small talk of understanding.
The kids were cool
Darcy and Jimmy were cool quirky side characters.
Director Hayward was a tired evil government trope. C tier character.
Agatha being a witch all a long was a cool twist.
Overall just a good show.
Avatar: The Last Airbender (2005)
Masterpiece
It's a Masterpiece go watch. Seriously the characters are amazing if you don't like the characters you have bad taste. The story is great as well
Doctor Strange (2016)
A great first act.
This movie definitely makes you like Doctor Strange with that first act. He was a neurosurgeon who gets in to a terrible accident which forced him to retire. He slowly begins to lose money and on the verge of obviously homeless ness he decides to visit some spiritual people who change his life forever.
My flaws with the movie is that the master character known as the Ancient One died so quickly, she felt like a wasted character. The villain who caused her death had zero personality and is your typical hey I'm just really powerful his name is Kaecillius. There this black character in the movie his name is Karl Mordo who is set up to become a future antagonist for our main character Doctor Strange clearly seems like he's going to become a terrible villain. He was basically feels disillusioned that his master the Ancient One was breaking the laws of nature these with there mystic arts. To do good things mind you it and idk I just feel like he going to be a bad character in the future.
Overall alright movie, Doctor Strange himself is a great character.
The Fairly OddParents (2001)
The show falls off
Around a time a dog appears which they later get rid of because he wasn't well received the show gets bad.
Also these this new blond girl character and she is terrible.
The Dragon Prince (2018)
The definition of an 8/10 show
This show is the definition of an 8/10, at no point does it reach 9/10 or 10/10 rating levels, and for me dips to 7/10 at certain points in the series.
Here I'm going to some of my flaws and praises with the series. Note that I'm not trying to be objective in anyway.
Soren- the son of lord viren. Know I like his character the only issue I take with him is that he is a bit to dumb for my taste. The first episode he doesn't give of the impression of being dumb at all actually pretty smart, but they make him a goofbal afterwards.
The show can be a bit to preachy at times....like the idea nobody will die in a war is unrealistic although it happened sort of it's still unrealistic
We find out Rayla parents didn't actually run away and I was a bit disappointed by this fact. Just felt like a quick cheap easy way to solve her insecurities.
The finale of season one I thought was a 7/10. The hype up this location there supposed to go to as a dangerous place nobody comes back from. Yet they get guided by this little girl character and thank god she didn't join the group. However this little girl character quite literally made it back from this "dangerous" location on her own to help her wolf. So it's really lessened the tension.
The finale was bland as crap, the fights scenes are never amazing in this series. I mean viren transforms the soldiers into these fire monster and they get beat pretty easily.
What I like about the show.
The main characters are pretty cool, king Solomon was especially cool and the villain himself is alright.
I really like how the villagers do not trust Lord Viren throughout the series. There always wary of him and when the truth comes out they go after him.
That's all I have to say
The Avengers (2012)
Great Action Flick
They introduce all the characters quickly, and have them bond well too.
Iron and Captain America back and forth relationship is very entertaining to watch.
I would have liked for themselves to start questioning the world more when they met Thor.
All and all good movie.
Loki is entertaining as hell he is such a great villain
Boku no hîrô akademia (2016)
Naruto Without it's Flaws
Title sums it up for me this show is quite literally the closest thing to masterpiece. Watch it.
The Last Dance (2020)
The Perfect Document
This is by far the greatest documentary I have ever watched detailing the Michael Jordan/Bulls Legacy Era of BasketBall.
From learning about why the Chicago bulls which ruled the 1990's winning six championship and two of them being three champion ships back to back were disbanded so quickly.
Learning about Jerry Krause love for Phil and his team turning to his jealousy not feeeling appreciated enough.
RodMan being just one huge weirdo and his wacky shenanigans, but you knew always had your back.
Phil Jackson taking over as head coach and building a bond with the players to the point where they all met one last time had ceremony.
Scottie Pippen being an all star yet, being so underpayed
Finally Michael Jordan and all the hardships and rivalries/trash talk he had to deal with.
This was a great documentary.
Aliens (1986)
Accidently watched this one before the first! Still a great Movie
Text: Alien is a story about of course Aliens and its a fantastic movie. The story centers around Warrant Officer Ellen Ripley a woman who was in hypersleep for 57 years. While I didn't know what happened she was seemingly on a mission once with crewmates who all end up dying due Aliens. Of course none of her bosses belive her and she ends up being demoted, they also belive she could have killed them. Ripley left her daughter behind to complete this mission, and like I said she was in hyper space, for 57 years so she was dead by the time she came back. Missing the 11th year old birthday party she said she will be there for.
Now the real story happens when a distress signal encountered by Carter Burke from a terraforming colony, basically asking for help. Burke contacts Ripley to try to get her to go face the aliens just one last time, she accepts on one conditions. They would go there to save life and defeat the aliens, not use them as test subjects. Now here is where the meat of the story is...everything goes wrong. A group of Marines lets say 20 of them all go to this distant planet so see whatsups. Off course there cocky and none them believe aliens exactly aisst, they don't even respect RiIpley but suprise suprise, when they encounter the aliens most of them die.
The only ones to surive are Corpoal Dwayne Hicks and private Hudson and Vasquez. Lets talk about these characters for a sec, Hudson was a bit of a nervous wreck. We first get too see how he like when they play the knife came and Hudson is scared out of his mind. We next see see him freak out and almost kill a little girl named Newt. Then throughout the show he is constantly freaking out say WHAT ARE WE GONNA DO, WERE ALL GONNA DIE. Although in the ends he mans up in the end and faces the Aliens head on, and dies like a chad.
Next we got Vasquez who had a good bond with the rest of the crewmates making jokes and lauging with them. She especially had a good bond with a certain man named Drake who unfortunately got killed by the Aliens. She and Him were like jocks and didn't want to listen to the rules which costed them later. As there weapons they used were too dangerous to use, and despite lieutenant Gormon telling them its too risky. Blah blah She had the chance to save him, blah blah Gormon wouldn't let her because its too risky. Gormon knocked out for like the entire middle part of the move, comes back in the third acts. Gormon goes out of his way to try and save Vasquez blah blah they know they can't win. So they both press and explosive tirgger and killed themselves in order to buy the reamning guys time. Vasquez was mad and wanted to kick Gormon ass, but she dies with him.
Captain Hicks is my favorite character in this movie, his whole crews die but the dude just keeps his head up the entire move. He acts maturely and its no wonder he is a captain, his bond with Ripley was sweet and when he told Ripley his named was Dwayne Ripley and Ripley saying her name is Ellen I wanted them to get together, as typically cowerker call each other by there last name, but friends do not. Thank god he doesn't die.
Lets talk about Bishop he is an android, now Ripley had a bad experience with an andriod once as situatuion happen causing the death of some of her commrades. So she ends up insulting him, and the common trend of this movie happens here. Hudsons is a coward dies like a badass. Vasquez causes the death of her teammates, dies saving her teammates. Gordon nervous wreck who can't say simple directions and could have potentially saved more lifes, confidently goes out to save Vasquez and keeps a level head the entire time. Bishop ends up saving the day when he manages to get a spaceship to fly them out of the planent, although he aint realizes the Queen Aliens ended up on top, really and earns the respect of Ripley, when she belived he could be a potential threat.
Now lets talk about Carter Blurke, he is your typically villain in the story who cares more about money than the people. We find out that he was the one that sent that terraforming colony to the Alien places, and didn't warn about the potential creatures there. Now while I hate him and his death made me smile, he is a great addition to this story due to the tension he causes. There a very line that hits deep where Ripley says I don't know who is worse, humans or aliens because atleast aliens don't to to kill one another. Anyway we find our Blurke is some sick fuck who tried to get his crew and a little girl all to be implanted with Alien eggs inside of him. So that went they go home he could become some scientific millionaire and be set for life. He gets caugh and he doesn't learn his lesson as again now tries to kill his crew so he won't be imprisoned or killed for basically his attempted murder. He ends up getting killed by one of the Aliens when he could have surived.
Now lets talk about Ripley and her relationship with Newt. Riplay lost her family and her daughter. Newt lost her family and her mother. Ripley finds the little girl and eventually givers her hope. Newt was so hopeless that even after the armed marines found her she though she we be better off alone, she had no plans to get off that terrible place. Anyway Ripley and Newt bond throughout the movie cultivating in my favorite scene. Badass Ripley defeated the mother alien by fighting her in a mech and blasting it off into space (yes you heard that right). She starts of miserable with no hope, to becoming hopeful and smiling as when she gets captured by one of the aliens to become a spawn. Ripley ends up coming to save her and she says "I knew you would come". Ripley is the most badass female main character I have ever scene in the movie. I mean the way she just goes against and faces off the Mother Alien alone is so fucking cool. The way she escapes is fucking cool too she is way more braver than I am. This move isn't a ten just because the beggining scence wasn't as interesting as when they finally meet the Aliens, but still this is a good movie and a must watch.
Summary: A Great Action/Horror Movie
The Office (2005)
Funniest Comedy of All Time
This isn't just an ordinary comedy though while it is a funny one, it definetly has an emotional story (Pam and Jim beautiful relationship how they go from great friends with crushes to getting married and having two children, or even Dwight desire to be Manager) . The Office is a show about a group of characters and there shenanigans that arouse from interacting each other while working at Dunder Mifflin.
Michael Scott our main character for most of the show, and best character is a guy who desperately wants everyone to love him and be friends with him. He very much also wants to find the love of his life and riase a family. Although the show does take a hit after season 7 when a certain character departures for good. It's great writing definetly comes back for the last three episodes of the series. In fact despite being such a funny show I cried during the finale and said departure episode. Your gonna watch these characters grow and for the most part enjoy every second of the show. Now the only reason why this is not a ten is because I do have some flaws with the shows. While most episodes are extremely funny, not every single episode iis an amazing 10/10. (Looking at you Mafia/Bank Teller) and not at you (Goodbye Michael, Finale, Niagra Falls part 1/2, Garbage Sale, Basketball, Classy Christmas and Diversity day=10/10). Season 8/9 are not as funny as the other seasons and certain character introduced aren't as compelling (Clark,Nellie, Deangelo, Pete, and Robert). There also a plotline involving Andy/Dwight/ and Angela that I wasn't very fond of and I believed it was handled pretty terribly, but yeah funniest show ever.
The Office: Goodbye, Michael (2011)
The Greatest Episode in all of Media
This episode "Goodbye Michael Scott Episode 22 season 7" is the greatest media I have ever seen, from the great pacing, great comedy, and the emotional but sad ending. I am writing this review April 21 2020, in the eleventh grade with tears in my eyes. For some background the office was a show that had already finished before I had begun to even watch.
I started watching this show during the coronavirus wear schools worldwide was shutdown. So it's not like I grew up watching the office or anything I also already knew Michael (The Best Character in the Show) was already leaving. Yet I'm still teary eyed watching this show from his emotional/funny send offs with all the other great characters in a show.
From Michael telling Andy and Kevin to believe in themselves (Giving Andy all of his sales jobs even though he is a terrible salesman and telling Kevin not to settle for his stature and keep improv). To giving great advice to Erin, Creed, Meridth, and Gabe helpful advice. From finally Michael trying to not to be an absolute dick to Toby, to giving crappy but funny gifts to Oscar, Ryan, and Stanley. To just telling Angela and Kelly what they want to here. Finally giving Dwight the recommendation for Manager he always wanted and having a heart full conversation with Jim where he tells Michael he was the best manager he ever had.
Michal Scott after all his relentless and failures with the woman in his life he finally gets the girl of his dreams Holly and moves to Colorado to who he engaged to, which was also an amazing proposal too.
When he leaves the office, Pam just gets there and it was a very telling scene when run scurries to the airport to say her goodbyes before he leaves. Despite all the trouble Michael causes for these characters many of them (like Pam) truly love him. I couldn't ask for a greater episode, Thank you Michael Scott For all the great laughs and I look forward to finishing your show.
Forrest Gump (1994)
The Greatest Movie of all time.
Forrest Gump is a story that follows two characters, one names Forrest, the other named Jenna.
As says Forrest Gump is a simple relatively wealthy kid man with a low I.Q, but good intentions. What makes this move so great is how Gump goes through many of the historical events of the 20th century. From dancing with Elvis, to entering the Vietnam war, to witnesses the original moon landing on tv, to meeting the black panther organization, and even even witnessing the WaterGate Scandal that causes Nixon to retire. Gump goes through a lot of situations throughout his life, but he never lets anyone of them disturb his happiness. From we're wearing braces on his leg, to get in bullied in school, and as an adult, to even being shot. Gump never gives up and continues to believe things will workout all right. That faith always helps him out for example when he gets his braces of he discovers he can run extremely fast, and long, all that running from bullies paid off (insert famous Run Forrest Run Here scene here). Not only that because he runs so fast Football recruiters and coaches notice him allowing him to receive a football scholarship to the university of Alabama as a running back. Which then allows him to graduate college and join the military when a recruiter talks to him. Why he joins the military no reasons he just does it no real explanation to why.
That's the thing with his character he basically symbolizes the idea that somebody can make a difference no matter who they are, even the dumbest of the dumb. When he joins the military, he quickly able to fit, you realize Forrest really isn't that dumb. He able to quickly able to reassemble his gun in the military, faster than anyone in the U.S military existence.
Anyway in the military he meets a man named Bubba and he comes the best of pals. Despite racism clearly being an issue as shown by the historical scene of the desegregation of the university of Alabama(extremely funny). Bubba and Him are quickly able to become the best of friends. To the point where the the Shrimp business he always talks with Forrest about, he eventually ask Forrest to come join him once's they leave the military. Which is sad cause Bubba ends up dying due to an injury.
Anyway when he went to go save Lieutenant Dan his commander and a few other solid jets, Dan tells him to leave him, but Forrest doesn't listen. This causes Gump to become a war hero although Dan ends up losing his legs due to serious injuries. While in rehab Forrest Gump picks up a new skill as ping pong which allows him join the All America Ping Pong team and even meet JFK. He eventually meets lieutenant Dan again and the dude is a mess, he a hopeless goner since he couldn't die War like his ancestors. Although he joins Gump in his shrimping business challenges god to sink his ship when a huge hurricane hit's Louisian, and his ship is the only one that remains. Allowing Gump to monopolize the business and in the end they both become millionaires, as Dan takes over the business although he makes sure to replay Gump by making him a stock shared in Gump words a "fruit company"(Apple). Dan eventually get married and finds a wife.
Anyway let's talk about Gump Mother she is an amazing single mother who only ever wanted the best for her child. To the point where she ends up having sex with a school principal early on in the move just so that her child could go to a better school. She always tells Gump "life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get". Basically mean life is unpredictable, it's full of surprises. You pick and piece of chocolate and you eat it, you may like it, but when you pick again you might not like the other one. Does that mean you stop eating from those boxes of chocolate no you keep eating a trying the next, who knows you may like the rest of them. When she dies of Cancer Later on in the story it's very sad.
Now let's talk about Jenna her and Gump relationships. Jenna starts her life of being sexually abused by her father and that's a common theme in her life in away. Which Forrest Descirbes as "always kissing and touching Jenny and her sisters". The men in her life are constantly abusing her yet the one man who never even think about touching her, constantly rejects him. Jenny was originally Gumps only friend as everyone else treated him like the "idiot" he was, she was the only one who let Gump sit with her on the bus on his first day at school. She was the one who told Gump to "Run Forrest Run" from the bullies. Jenny ends up posing for a Playboy while in college and ends up getting expelled. Which causes her to perform and sing for a strip club pretty much nude. Anyway Forrest Gump doesn't like how the men grabbed her just like how he didn't like her boyfriend in college grabbing her and beats them up. Cussing Jenna to be fired, anyway before leaving for the military Jenny worried about the Vietnam war tells Forrest if he is ever scared in Vietnam to just run away. She still gives him advice even though he just got her fired meaning she probably didn't like the job anyway.
Forrest is constantly writing her letter in the Military, but is never getting any of them back, although they do end up uniting a few year later in Washington D.C, following a mostly muted Anti War Speech Gump was about to accidentally participate in. The two spend the day together and converge at a Black Panther Party sage house, however Jenny boyfriend at the time and the Party members weren't happy swing Forrest there. Jenny and her boyfriend eventually get in an argument in which the boyfriend slaps Jenny and Gump goes ballistic. Forres and Jenny are forced to leave and they spend the rest of the night reflecting on there journeys. Jenny ends up leaving for Berkeley's with the same boy that hit her, although not before Gump giver her his Congressional Medal of Honor reward, and saying she is her girl to which Jenny replies I'll always be your girl. Jenny ends going though a really rough time after this she has succumbed further into a life of drugs and instability. Battered and high she comes closed to committing suicide. Jenny eventually gets her life together and becomes a waitress and ends up meeting Gump, she has a child now who she named Forrest Jump Junior. We don't really know if it's really it's Gump kid or not but he accepts Gump Jr. as his own kid. We find out that Jenny is ill and suffering from an I own virus at the time know as HIV. Which prompts Forrest to tell them to come live with him and he promises to come take care of both of them. Jenny ask Forrest if he will marry her and he agree with great happiness. She ends up dying later on, and the saddest scene appear with Gump talking to her at her grave. Jenny finally accepted the one man that truly cared for her and she ends up dying. Sad, at least Gump jr is very bright. Forrest Gump is an amazing story and it's a must watch.
Kaubôi bibappu: Cowboy Bebop (1998)
You are gonna carry that weight!
The story is set in a space western setting - a genre and setting I'm loving more and more for each show I watch that falls under the genre. We follow two bounty hunters, Spike and Jet, who own a ship called the Bebop. They travel the Solar system as bounty hunters, chasing wanted criminals to earn money. Along the way, they also pick up two women; the debt-laden Faye Valentine and the playful kid and computer genius Edward. Also a genius dog named ein.
Anway I am not a huge fan of the mosnter of the week formula, I prefer a stories to follow certain arcs, however not every episode in this story is a monster of the week. Those episodes are always good regardless, the reason why I'm giving cowboy bebop an 8 is because its inconsistent. Some episodes like the last two episodes are ten out of ten, some are 7 outs of ten. the episodes focusing on the past of the main characters are good and a few indiviudual one off episodes, but for me it isn;t consistent enough to earn a ten.
Now lets talk about the characters
Bebop has a theme about the past and how you can't run away from it. All the characters in the ENTIRE SHOW are effected by the past. This includes the bounties they chase , who are running from the crimes they committed whether they did it for good reasons or bad.
Spike: Most obvious. He's running from his time with Vicious and the Red Dragons. He had to fake his death to escape his past, and his arc ends "positively" with him accepting his past and accepting death. I felt like I was watching a dream i never wake up from, before i knew it the dream was all over" is a telling line of his. Yeah, basically one of the themes of the show, that he even talks about with Faye, is that it's useless to hold onto the past. You should let it go and live in the moment, freely.
Of course, he never lived by this advice himself. He's shown to constantly be held by the past and an inability to let go of Julia. He consistently takes off from the Bebop to go drink and think about things and lives in a state of lethargy because of his perceived loss. He finds Julia at the end of the series and when she's killed, he decides to spare the Bebop crew anymore attacks from the Red Dragon by confronting Vicious directly... He also does this to avenge Julia and bring an end to the cycle of living in the past and present at once.
Faye: Second most obvious. Her past is completely erased from her memory and she spends most of her time on Bebop trying to suppress her sadness with it by going to dog/horse races and drinking. When the VHS tape comes to her near the end of the show, she starts remembering more and more, until she finds her family home has been torn down and she has no memory of it outside of the video tape. Her arc ends negatively, accepting that she'll never have those memories back.
Jet: Least obvious. Jets glory days are behind him, and he left behind a successful job as a police officer (after being set up for a fall by his partner) and the love of his life who left him because she felt too dependent on him. He never had the family he wanted so he tries very hard to make a family out of the Bebop crew. He loves Ed, thinks of Spike as his brother, he is the only member outside of Ed that interacts regularly with Ein, and at least tolerates Faye. Jet's arc is a lot less dynamic than Spike and Faye, probably because he's supposed to be the moral center that drives Spike's story, but he's an old man past his prime.
Ed is a lot less dynamic that Spike and Faye for obvious reasons, but Ed's father was never very attentive to Ed and left Ed in an orphanage because he couldn't keep them around while working his intense job as an Earth cartographer. The Bebop crew, Jet excluded, doesn't care for Ed and disregards them often.
Ed's past is about rejection, and Ed seems (I say seems because Ed never speaks clearly about themselves in the show lol) to come to the acceptance that they like being alone, and the family they made on Bebop isn't what they need. Ein comes along of course because they are best friends (And because Watanabe needed to jettison Ed and Ein before the climax) but Ed finds solace in being alone. Ed's arc ends in their last episode when they write Goodbye across the bow and venture across Earth finding new weird crap to do.
Vicious: It sounded like Vicious wanted Spike to come back to the syndicate, perhaps be partners once more during their confrontation at the church.
Just before spike was pushed out the stained glass window, Vicious was furious when spike told him that he put past behind him.
Perhaps Vicious was planning on having spike be a part of syndicate once he succeeded with the coup. Then again he did kill Mao. Everyone was waiting for Spike to return, perhaps Vicious wasn't an exemption.
The whole scene is great from start to finish. It's the first time they've seen each other in years, since Spike left and had his near brush with death. We can only speculate what their relationship was like before everything but with the brief flashbacks during Spike's fall they appeared to be very close friends. They most likely had very similar childhoods (lack of parents being around/never there to begin with) poor struggling to survive on the streets of Mars. Then Mao comes along and sees their potential in the syndicate and takes them under his wing, becoming the closest thing they've had to a father/family. From then until Spike leaves they were probably constantly working together(definitely some friendly rivalry trying to one up each other) becoming like brothers, the first time I watched that scene when Vicious talks about them sharing the same blood I thought they were actually brothers. Now I realize he meant it symbolically. I think Vicious feels betrayed by Spike and I agree I think Vicious wanted him to come back and be his number 2. Then again Vicious may have wanted to just kill him to eliminate the threat. Little is known about Spike's past and even less of Vicious's so its hard to say...
