Night Stalker (2005–2006)
8/10
A good series ... cut too soon
8 July 2006
As an old Nightstalker fan I did not turn this show on when it was on television because I don't like remakes of good things. However, when it went to DVD I thought I would see what the show was like. One of 2 things ... if the producers had made a completely new show with no reference to the original series OR if they had made this a show about the son of Kolchak being laughed out of journalism like his dad I think the show would have gone for a few years.

The show being a cross between the fugitive, X Files, and Nightstalker allowed the writers to cross many story lines with the murder of Kolchak's wife threading throughout the performances. However, each episode seemed to give the unknown murderer more unexplained powers. It leaves the audience wishing they could grasp a little bit more as to who or what Kolchak was after. He would take off on a murder or accident case and at the end of the show their was a reference to a tattoo, present or absent, on the wrist of the victim (Gave me a feeling that the writers were looking for a tie in of the show to the series and the mark on the wrist was the easiest method to succeed in the task). Actually I thought the cast and writers were good and left the viewer wanting more.
