Safe Home (2023)
Pretty much a true depiction of domestic violence
I started watching this series because I liked the title. I didn't read about it or watch any trailers. There are some plot twists in it that had me enthralled. I'm glad that this project came to fruition. People need to be able to see the many faces of domestic violence and abuse. The story this is centered around is one that really makes you think. And the side stories that depict different types of abuse are really engaging, because you want to know if they get out of their situation. Then when they're free of the abuse you can see the shift in their demeanor and outlook. I hope they make more episodes.
Accused (2023)
Great plot, lackluster writing.
I was really hoping this was going to be great, and I understand that the obvious could have literally ended the movie in less than an hr. But, use your imaginations writers!!in the era we live now, This could have been played out in so many other ways that would have pulled the viewer in, vs irritated is to not enjoying the film. Hopefully you learn from this one and your next project will be more believable. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't all bad. I will say, the ending was good. But what led up to it, should have been written and played out in a way that would have really wanted the viewer to want more.
Coming Out (2022)
Great Storyline and oh so very real.
The title captured my attention and I read the synopsis. I liked what I read, so decided to give it a chance. I am now on episode 7. Could the acting be better, yes. But it's definitely a good series. The scene in the prison visit made me laugh, because they left something in that they should have cut out. The fake blood was very fake. Lol But this is a story that is all too well known for some people. Josiah thinking, is so realistic as he's conflicted as a young man and has to decide what would be safe for him, both at home and in school and on the streets. They definitely could have paid better attention to the little details in this series. But I am enjoying it.
