The Strays (2023)
Stereotypes!
The film was not realistic and relied on too many stereotypes. The cast was competent but didn't have an opportunity to display their talent. The motive for two of her children being angry and wanting to harm and kill those who did nothing to them is weak. The film's ending as it begins is weak. The Stepford family's cinematography was good.
The film premise of being so engulfed in self-hatred over your skin complexion for material wealth is fascinating and could've been a great psychological thriller. The writer and director making the mother's hair an issue was funny and extreme. The number of scenes at the school was unnecessary and made the storytelling drag.
Corsicana (2022)
Corsicana film directed by Isaiah Washington
"Corsicana" A magnificent film inspired by the real life of Federal US Marshall Bass Reeves during 1875 - 1907.
Thank you Isaiah Washington! Finally seeing a quality film of a great lawman in a full feature film is a true pleasure! The writing, directing, acting and pacing of the scenes are perfect. We need the series now of Bass in his younger years and the growth.
As a kid I watched all these over the top white cowboys pictures with my grandfather. We always wanted to see the Black cowboys represented on the screen too and not relegated to stereotypes. My hometowns in Alabama, Louisiana, Virginia, Maryland were full of Black cowboys. We knew the real life stories of the famous Black cowboys Bass Reeves, Bill Pickett...and the fact that Black cowboys made up 1/3 of West in North America.
Without Remorse (2021)
Excellent and without remorse!
The film is an excellent action film. Michael B Jordan and Jodie Turner Smith acting and chemistry jumps off the screen. A pure delight.
The movie was so engrossing it left me wanting more.
The movie provides a believable view of Secretary Defense, Navy Seals and CIA competing operations . The story plot and dialogue needed to be flushed out more. Who and why were inside job players making decisions on collateral damage to start a war.
Bridgerton (2020)
Bridgerton a breath of fresh air💞
@shondarhimes @netflix
Finally a film which reflects the fact Black people also existed in the royal courts of England & through out Europe. Athough Bridgerton is fiction, a good start to research, document begin telling real history on film.
Hell on the Border (2019)
Bass Reeves real history deserves a better script. Wasted Talent
The script is so poorly written the actors talents are wasted. All the actors are seem as if they are in a high school play. The Entire production is poor quality. The music is ridiculous
