The Rescue (2021)
Touching!
Very touching retelling of the rescue of the 13 in the cave. Hard to believe the story, this doco covers the events incredibly well whilst respecting the navy seal that tragically lost his life.
Would recommend to all doco lovers.
Red Notice (2021)
Easy watch
Old fashioned heist movie, not the most memorable movie of recent memory however, this film provides a few good laughs, simple plot line and an all around easy watch.
If you wanting to switch off and enjoy your evening would recommend.
A Castle for Christmas (2021)
Movie is as expected, easy watch for the Christmas season!
Easy watching, not to complex heartwarming movie.
Unlike many movies in the Christmas theme, the love story wasn't over the top rosy. However, it goes according to as you'd expect, you essentially get what you are expecting from this film.
Easy watch!
Wind River (2017)
Gut wrenching true story!
This film covers a realistic view of several uncomfortable topics. The film builds nicely from a reasonably slow beginning and provides a great sense of redemption for the victims by the end.
These sorts of topics need to be explored in modern day film and I think "wind river" portrayed this well.
An added bonus was the incredible scenery and excellent cinematography. Strongly recommend.
Saving Private Ryan (1998)
Excellent portrayal of war even after 20+ years.
Rewatching this film I enjoyed it as much as I remembered. Amazing cast, excellent character development and realistic fight scenes. Hasn't aged a bit. Still one of the best war movies ever.
Green Book (2018)
Amazing view from so many angles.
With so many awards you come to expect quite a lot from this movie. This film led up to all my expectations.
From the very beginning of the film I was engaged and with a blink of an eyelid an hour had passed. I have seen very few movies that address prejudice quite like this. This film provides a much more calculated approach whereby showing the impact of how seemingly insignificant "minor" discrimination can damage an individual.
Amazing watch would recommend to everyone.
Rush (2013)
Better than you'd expect
Fascinating story of a bygone era, as a fan of sport of all kinds this was a great watch. The CGI was done quite well to replicate the cars, sponsors and landscapes of the 70s.
Well acted and well put together as a whole. Considering I had low expectations for this film, I was pleasantly surprised, Strongly recommend.
The Gentlemen (2019)
Very slow beginning, finished well.
After what was a slow and tedious intro to the film, I pushed through and quite enjoyed it as a whole.
Hugh Grants accent and character as a whole was not for me. Colin Farrell was excellent, felt perfect for the role.
Back end of the movie gained great momentum and made the wait worth it.
The Great Gatsby (2013)
Perfectly paced movie, classic Leo
Great storyline with enough intrigue, glamour and love story to keep you interested throughout.
Toby Maguire plays a great lead in this film!
Strongly recommend this to anyone with a spare afternoon or evening.
Extraction (2020)
Excellent action scenes.
This movie had excellent action, but lacked a little in the way of storyline.
Very John Wick style movie, enjoyed it for what it was and was very happy with the movie as a whole.
If your wanting action from beginning to end this is for you.
The Mule (2018)
Decent story line. Bit too long.
Decent story line with many good things going for it, And unfortunately a few that don't. At the beginning of the movie things happen quickly with little character development yet despite this the movie felt about 20mins too long.
Overall, I would say it was an okay to good movie. Given then cast you'd expect a little more, but still not a bad movie.
Ray (2004)
Hit after hit song, ringing back many memories.
Excellent music, great story but I felt it missed a great opportunity to explore his early childhood. Nevertheless, a very good story told with hit after hit, Foxx played the role exceptionally.
Strongly recommended to my friends.
Kalifat (2020)
Unfortunately realistic!
Sadly realistic story of how people that are in vulnerable can be exploited by those in powerful positions.
Flight (2012)
Good Movie.
I find movies of this style that aren't based on true events hard to stay invested. similar but different in this category would be Sully (Tom Hanks).
Danzel was quite good, movie story was quite good, all round good movie without being great.
Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017)
Pleasantly surprised, better than another origin story.
This movie was an excellent new spin on the Spider-Man franchise. Most people already know the story so why tell it again, instead make a movie that appeals to a younger audience with plenty of humour to ensure everyone enjoys it.
Really fun easy watching movie, again was better than what I was expecting from just another Spider-Man story!
Interstellar (2014)
Excellent in many ways!
The layers to this movie are amazing. Magnificent SciFi Movie that has great underlying meaning. Would you chose your family over the human races survival?
Circle (2015)
Great concept, very rushed ending.
Great concept, great idea of how to use a low budget film. However, after watching the whole thing you wish you didn't see the ending.
The ending made no sense, and had no real explanations that were clear. Very rushed towards the end.
As a whole, I would say 3/4 of the movie was good. However does lose momentum as the movie continues.
El hoyo (2019)
Original concept, great underlying message. Horrid ending
The movie starts slow, and gains momentum quickly. This story is easy to follow, has a great balance of purpose to the characters and feel like you really buy into the their stories. You can really start to understand what the true message of the story is telling. Capitalism will always make those below
Suffer, of which you begin to see that is always worse than first thought.
However, I felt very let down by the ending of this movie. It was far too open and left you more confused than anything. It was excellent until around 10mins to go where you start fining floors and everything start to unravel.
As a whole, felt rushed towards the end, movie was very worth while watching and would recommend to others. I would have preferred a little more clarity with the ending, but this may have been a funding issue who knows?
Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)
Incredibly fun movie! Music was awesome.
A really fun and different take on the marvel universe, absolutely loved it coming in with no expectations.
Music was on point throughout!
Frozen II (2019)
Hard to compare to the original. Little too much goingon.
Like any sequel that follows such an incredible storyline, it is very hard to back up. I felt the movie was a little all over the place at times, like always with Disney movies amazing songs and graphic displays. Overall worth a watch, however not at the quality of the original.
Captain America: Civil War (2016)
Excellent to see different perspective.
Love this movie, ties in very well with the series as a whole. I feel at this point of the series there is some quality depth behind the characters
