Washington gets ripped off he should of won the Oscar for this film.

This movie is so filled with emotion, human fragility, with a great story; even better acting.

This year Denzel got ripped off, this was an Oscar winning performance. Loved seeing John Goodman as the watch it and see what.

I love hove the step by step process of radicalizing girls and those that think they are doing god's bidding. I sometimes wonder how people fall for this and this does a good job of explaining the bait switch

Those that criticize don't see the importance of this educational show.

I don't know what people are so worked up about the breaks in story in a slightly humorous way that breaks up the darkness precisely because it is so horror inducing to learn these facts its so against everything we though america apple pie patriots that they do there best not to bludgeon us with it, but to educate us.

Did you know thousands of nazis after world war 2 were moved here? Many would of been appalled most of even now watch this in disbelief. Just from a point of teaching americans about our own history this is worth the watch.

Forget all the nitpicking this is part godfather part soap opera

Warning: Spoilers
Hot damned does this keep my attention. I am not watching this looking for stereotypes but you know I was partially raised in the hood so I know some of these stereotypes did exist. People want to bash it but the truth hurts, and no lighter skinned people aren't better but they did studies showing African American moms treated their lighter skinned children better naturally back in the day too. I love that the Cookie character loves her gay son, and the eldest son well he is really a chip off the block of his father. Hakeem heck besides Mom issues is the most normal of them all after all he is really just a kid. A rich spoiled kid, I don't even think about his color, I just think he is a brat of sorts. The eldest power hungry, and the middle rejected/partially because honestly dad was still paying the bills, took shots at him but back in the old days black families didn't appreciate book smart children or gay children not in the hood they didn't. I had friends who had to speak one way at home and another at school, pressure put on by her environment her immediate environment. Anyway this show is so fast paced the only thing I worry about is they run out of excitement, you got us addicted to the adrenaline rush of the show, can it keep up with this pace?

Great film never saw a single trailer for it...glad I looked it up
28 September 2014
Holy Moly, I see people talking about no one in the theater for this and I know why, no trailers no advertising at all. I look everything up before I go, as soon as I saw IMDb reviews and Gandolfini I knew I was in. It's a dark twisty movie with equally dark and twisty characters. There were gangsters and good guys and bad guys. However they are anything BUT cookie cutter, run of the mill, you have seen this all before good guys and bad guys. There are explanations' you see how some of them end up the way they do, its not black and white. Crazy outwardly isn't the most crazy in the room. The most violent characters can also be some of the most kind. There is no typical in this film. It draws you in and never lets you go. Keeps you guessing till the end.

Won't be looking at the home depot the same after this movie

Warning: Spoilers
Every bit as tough as John McClane in a die hard movie. No sarcastic quips though. Cool calculating, swift and smart is the way I would describe this character. Deep inside many of us wish for justice that someone would protect us if we needed it, that someone would stand up and do the right thing, the dangerous thing. The reason we love super hero's so much, we want the world to be more just, we want the world to be more fair, for their to be those with nerves of steel unabashedly facing the ills of the world. This is why this movie works. We want more people like this in the world. Someone who is a one man wrecking machine but against the bad guys. We want to ourselves be this brave to be this lethal to be this smart to be this brave. We want the bad guys to have their ass's handed to them. This character is stoic and kind, solitary and lonely. Scarred but true. He cares about others and puts his caring into action. He even gives the bad guys an out and when they don't take it, it takes them out.

Veronica Mars (2014)

Good movie, but didn't know when it came out
24 August 2014
I just finally watched the movie. I really enjoyed seeing all the characters back from the show. I had hoped it was a more financially successful film. I a fan had no idea when it came out. I would of gone to the movie theater if I had seen it was out at all. So honestly yes it was for fans. I was waiting for it. I was excited it got fans to pay for it. Still people like me who would of paid to go see it in theaters. And I was looking for it, had no idea it was out. I think Kristen Bell did great, everyone did. It was a Veronica Mars reunion, enjoyed it. If that is the end I am glad to see at least it got wrapped up unlike the ending of the series when the character was too young to really tell what the future for sure was going to look like.

The Strain (2014–2017)

Oh something scary and smart a rare wonderful combination
11 August 2014
I looked forward to a few shows this summer. Extant started off so well is tapering off for me. However the excitement I feel when watching the strain just gets more and more intense. I am super surprised by this I got lucky that I saw Del Toro's name and decided to give it a shot. I like American Horror Story, and the Walking dead watcher. So scary I am into, but stupid I am not. A gore fest for the sake of being disgusting is not for me. I have to have a good story behind my fear fest and this delivers in spades, I don't want it to end. And I can't wait for the next Episode. The characters we are getting to know, they aren't perfect for sure but they are perfect for the jobs. I never would of imagined the actor playing the Abraham as a bad ass after being in Harry Potter but that goes to show, that was some damned good acting then, and NOW.

Loved the movie
15 January 2014
I am lucky enough not to be a purist, who speaks elvish and can recite verbatim parts of the books. I did however read the Hobbit as a child and I must say I wasn't impressed, it was okay, maybe it was because I was a girl? Not sure. These movies however I love from beginning to the end. I am thrilled Peter Jackson is at the helm of these 3 Hobbit films. I was one who was thrilled that Jackson and the Lord of the Rings Films won the Oscar, in my opinion it deserved it. They are stunning stories, stories that keep me glued to the screen. When I am thinking of nothing but what is going on the screen you have captured me, its engrossing. I will again be very sad when this trilogy is over, I loved the first one and love this 2nd one. Wish Viggo Mortensen would of chosen to be in the film. Love the addition of Evangeline Lilly, and like an old friend loved seeing Legolas again! and the mention of Grimley, wonderful!

I can't believe I missed this at the box office, much better than 2
29 October 2009
I was one of those people who heard a local critic on the radio rave about Underworld the original and thought what the hay, but really what the heck can they do with Werewolves and Vampires that hasn't been done?...Sorry I was wrong and I ended thinking Underworld was GREAT. So original. It has a plot, great story line, great action, all of that in one film, lucky if you get one of those these days.

2nd film I sooo looked forward to it, couldn't wait I was totally disappointed, dull for me. So I am wondering did I miss this one? It is true I didn't like underworld 2, and if you didn't like it don't be put off. RENT, DVR, Underworld RISE of the Lycans it is right back to where it ought to be.

This time the ACTING saves the day, the leads are all excellent. We know what happens but the story and acting is soo well done, you feel so much for LUCIAN that it keeps you watching. And ole EVIL Vicktor...just great.

WATCH IT!!!!

creative, beautiful and relevant story
22 July 2006
This is a gorgeous tale, filled with humor, seriousness, thought provoking story telling at its best. I went with some trepidation having disliked the village so much, then the critics. Well I was overwhelmingly pleasantly surprised. If folks are looking for a lot of action this isn't the movie for you. If however you are patient enough to let the story unfold in its own time, you will love it.

Highly relevant thought provoking story telling, that touches upon current themes both globally and personal, he intertwines this with a master storytellers gift. At times touching, at others ludicrous, other times tragic, and then there is hope but all of these elements are needed to tell the tale, no super special effects required, nothing needs to be blown up to get its point across.

Gorgeous story by a Master Storyteller....My favorite movie of the year thus far and that is saying a lot as I think most films well are crap.
