Sherlock Holmes (1954)
Excellent Detective Story Telling and a Few Terrifying Plots
The Sherlock Holmes Line of Books are awesome and I've seen many of the pop cultures movies, streaming series and tv shows, I've also listened to the radio shows of the 30's and 40's with various actors, all based on Sir Conan Doyle's treasure trove of Sherlock Holmes adaptations. I have to share this is the one series I can watch or listen to over and over..
His eccentric habits and personality included his habitual injections of morphine or cocaine is something that surprised me and I believe Sir Doyle was addicted to these medications throughout his life and had to include it's use in his life's work.
Ida (2013)
Very Intriguing Indie Film
The story was fantastic. It was well written, edited, scored, directed and acted. Everything you'd ask for in a post WW2 film about a young orphaned nun, who before she takes her vows, searches for the whereabouts of her parents via her only "Jewish living relative" the convent shares. Who is Her Polish Govt. Judicial aunt with some skeletons in her closet.
Some wonderful Coltrane Music.
Civil War (or, Who Do We Think We Are) (2021)
Amazing Perspective On Kids and How This Isn't An Easy Topic
The main take away for me was how divided we are as a country in the Deep South. It's still as though the south has not changed from over 120 yrs ago. The Whites still have a need to make sure they are in control of the entire storyline and how white dominated states are going to be this way for many more years.
Jusqu'au déclin (2020)
Good Movie! Viva Le France
Fun to watch on a lazy day. It was very action packed and had a great strong line.
