Silo (2023– )
9/10
Excellent
6 May 2024
I just read Silo got renewed for another season so I'm looking forward to seeing where this show goes. This show really is every bit as good as everyone says it it. It currently has a 87% on Rotten Tomatoes from both critics and audience and a 8.2 here. It has those great scores for a reason. This is definitely one of the best new shows of the year. It takes place in a dystopian future where everyone lives in a huge silo hundreds of stories underground. They live there with a bunch of rules that they all believe are in place to protect them. It has a star studded cast led by Rebecca Ferguson and supported by Tim Robbins, Shane McRae, Will Patton, Common, Iain Glen, David Oyelowo, Rashida Jones, and more. With that cast, the great writing and great visuals this is a cant miss thriller.

Hanna (2019– )
8/10
Worth Watching
2 May 2024
I thought Hanna was a show that's definitely worth watching, it's actually pretty good. From what I've read it seems that most of the low reviews are from people who are comparing it to the movie and they don't like that it's a little bit different from it. Who cares? Just enjoy it for what it is and that's an entertaining tv show that's separate from the movie. Season 1 is probably the best of the seasons but they're all pretty good. It may start off a little slow for some but stick with it because it turns into an action packed thriller that will keep you entertained throughout the entire series.

Fallout (2024– )

Never played the games so I can't compare
2 May 2024
I never played the Fallout games or knew anything about them so I had no idea what to expect but I have to say that I've really enjoyed it so far. This show hooked me from the first episode and held my attention to the last. I binged the entire season in two days and was still hoping for more episodes when I was done. It seems like some of the people who actually played the games didn't like it as much but as long as try not to compare it to the game and just enjoy it for what it is...and that's an entertaining fantasy/sci-fi series. The series should be judged on its own and not compared to the game. The world building and cast are the best things about the show and I can't wait for more. I promise you'll have a blast watching this and will want to binge it as fast as you can.

Family Guy (1999– )
10/10
One of the best comedies ever
2 May 2024
Family Guy is one of the best comedies of all-time. It's about the Griffin family (Peter, Lois, Stewey, Meg & Chris) and their talking dog Brian. I don't even know how to explain how much I absolutely love this show! It has been a laugh out loud funny show for almost 20 years now! It's a crude and rude show that says all the things we wish we could say. That's what makes it so funny. It's easily one of my favorite comedies of all-time! Seth McFarlane is just an absolute genius who has done the impossible and that's make a show remain hilarious for over 2 decades now. There's not much I can say about this incredible show that hasn't already been said so just do yourself a favor and go watch it...you won't regret it.

Was hoping it would be better
28 April 2024
I was really hoping The Lords of the Rings: The Rings of Power would be better. While I enjoyed the Lord of the Rings movie trilogy, I don't consider myself fan a die hard fan. I still liked it enough to look forward to this series and was naive to think it would be as good as those movies because it's not. This series takes place thousands of years before both The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. It's not often that a series that's based off a huge movie franchise can live up to its hype and this one doesn't. I do admit that the visuals here are incredible. It seems to me that most of the people who dislike this are really die hard fans who don't like that the changed some things up from the books. I've never been one to mind when a show or movie has to change up a few things from the original source material because I know they have to adapt it for tv/movies and that's hard to do. As long as it's entertaining I'm ok with it but I get why some people may not be. Hopefully this will get better in season 2 but I'm not counting on it.

Ms. Marvel (2022)
8/10
It's worth a watch if you're a Marvel fan
27 April 2024
Even though I thought Ms. Marvel is the 2nd worst of all the Marvel shows, only She-Hulk was. Worse. I still think it's worth watching. It's actually gotten great reviews and currently holds a 98% on Rotten Tomatoes. The cast is mostly made up of unknown actors and actresses, led by Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan. This is actually her first acting job ever and she does a pretty good job. She did such a good job that her next job is in the next Marvel blockbuster, The Marvels. I thought this show was only targeted for teens but I was wrong. While it is definitely aimed more for teens and children, that doesn't mean adults won't enjoy it. It's a fun show with plenty of heart.

Ozark (2017–2022)

Great show...disappointing ending
25 April 2024
The best way to describe Ozark is that it's just a flat out awesome show and a must watch! I'm so glad that I did finally start watching it because it's become one of my favorite shows of all-time. Everything about this show is excellent...the acting, writing, directing, production, cinematography, etc. Are all as good as it gets. The acting is so good that you really come to care for these characters and what happens to them even though they're not exactly the best human beings possible. I can not overstate just how good this show really is. It's one of the rare shows where every season is just as good as the others. The only negative would have to be the ending. While not the worst ending ever it's also not very good. It doesn't mean the show wasn't worth watching because you'll have fun for the majority of it but a little disappointed in the ending.

Loki (2021–2023)

Tom Hiddleston is terrific as Loki
25 April 2024
Loki is a must watch for any Marvel fan! I'm a huge fan of Marvel and other superhero shows/movies so I may be a little biased but this is one of favorites series from the MCU. It's an action packed thriller from start to finish. This show will grab you and pull you into its world from the very first episode. The always brilliant Tom Hiddleston was absolutely terrific as Loki. You'll have so much fun watching this show that before you know it you'll have binged both seasons. Every episode is incredibly written. It had such high expectations and it not only met those expectations but surpassed them. There's really nothing else I can say about this show that hasn't already been said. I hope they renew this for a third season because this show deserves it.

Next season can't come fast enough
23 April 2024
I've been looking forward to 3 Body Problem for what feels like a decade. I just binged the entire first season in two days and it's everything I hoped it would be and more. This series is adapted from the best selling novels of the same name. It's a show that will pull you into their world and not let go. There are so many mysteries that will keep your mind going the entire time. You can tell they put a lot of money into this show too because the visuals are absolutely beautiful. The only thing that could've been better was character development. I stole this quote from a review I read but I couldn't agree more, "3 Body Problem sets a new standard for what sci-fi is capable of." I'm already looking forward to next season. It can't come fast enough.

White Collar (2009–2014)

Pretty Good
22 April 2024
With White Collar popping back up and doing well with streaming these days I thought I'd give it a try again. I'm glad I did. I watched the first few seasons when this was on 10-15 years ago and then just forgot about it. This was on USA network at a time where they had a bunch of good shows (Psych, Suits, Burn Notice, Covert Affairs, Royal Pains, etc) so it got caught in the shuffle back them. Looking g back USA had a lot of good shows, it's too bad they changed their formula. It's about a White Collar felon named Neal Caffrey, he's wanted for years before being caught by FBI agent Peter Burke. After a few years in prison they make Neal an offer. In exchange for freedom he'll help them catch sought after white collar criminals. Neal and Peter work together and have a fun bro-mance thing going on, they start off not trusting of each other but that grows into a real friendship.

Good to see these two again
19 April 2024
After years of waiting, it's finally here. The Walking Dead: The Ones Who live brings back the story of Rick and Michonne. We've been waiting for 4 years for this and it does not disappoint. This has the look and feel of a blockbuster movie. Rick and Michonne are two fan favorites and two of the main from the original. They ended up falling in love and starting a family and this show continues their love story. Andrew Lincoln (Rick) and Danai Gurira (Michonne) are as good as ever. Everyone who's waited for Rick to return won't be disappointed. This has the solid writing of the good years of the original and the great acting that made us love these characters in the first place. I can't say enough about the three new spinoffs so far. All 3 have been better than anything TWD has put out in year.

It's no BoB but still worth watching
14 April 2024
I've been counting down the days to Masters of the Air ever since I saw the first trailer. Well, it's finally here and it definitely lives up to all the hype. This limited series will definitely be nominated for every major award there is. You can tell this was expensive to make. Like many have already pointed out it's brought to you by Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg. While it's not quite as good as their other World War II series, Band of Brothers, it's still pretty darn good. The way this series shows all the struggles and humanity of war is brilliant. I've used the word a few times now because that's what this series is...brilliant. I can't say enough about the cast either. They do a great job pulling you into their world and make you really care for these characters. Don't miss this series.

The Last of Us (2023– )
7/10
I've come to realize this show isn't for everyone
13 April 2024
I had to change my rating score after giving this show some more thought. Even though my brother and I both really enjoyed this, I've come to realize that maybe this show isn't for everyone therefore I lowered my score. If I thought everyone would like this the way we did then I would've left my rating at a 9 but I think a 7 is more accurate after seeing some mixed reviews. The following is my initial review for me personally and anyone else who like these type of shows...The Last of Us definitely lives up to all the hype around it. Considering there are a thousand zombie/post apocalyptic shows to choose from, one would have to be really good and stick out from the rest to put in the time to watch. Well, The Last of Us is definitely that show. It's not only good, but one of the best zombie/ post apocalyptic shows to some out in the last few years. It seems that most agree based off all the terrific reviews from both critics and the audience alike. It's also been nominated for just about every award possible. The show itself was just nominated for a bunch of Emmy's including best drama, Pedro Pascal was nominated for best lead actor, Bella Ramsey for best lead actress, Nick Offerman, Murray Barnett and Lamar Johnson for best guest actor, Melanie Lynskey, Anna Torv and Storm Reid for best guest actress, best ensemble cast, best directing, best writing, etc. So, as you can see it's a great show. HBO has had so many great shows over the years, too many to even name, and it looks like The Last of Us is the next great one. Can't wait to see where this show goes next.

For All Mankind (2019– )

Love This Show
7 April 2024
For All Mankind is one of my favorite sci-fi shows that I've ever seen and that's not hyperbole. It's a sci-fi mystery thriller that takes you down the road of "what if" during the space races. While the show does has its flaw overall it is a very good show. The writing and acting are all terrific, especially Joel Kinnamon. The use of actual footage and real events just make the story that much better. Each episode gets better and better. I put off watching it for some reason and I'm now binging all 3 seasons and can't stop. If you're a sci-fi fan and have been putting it off like me...stop! Go watch this as soon as possible because I promise you won't be disappointed.

Sugar (2024– )

Farrell is as terrific as always
7 April 2024
Apple TV keeps putting out great television shows and Sugar is no different. It kept me entertained the entire way through and Colin Farrell is as terrific as always as the lead. He plays John Sugar, a kind of loner who gets hired by rich people to find missing people. He's hired to find the missing granddaughter of a big time movie producer (James Cromwell) which leads him into a lot of danger and mysteries. There are plenty of good twists and mysteries to see if you can solve along the way. I'll be shocked if Farrell isn't nominated for a bunch of awards for his role in this. I don't think this is a limited series so I hope they plan on doing several seasons of this because I'm in.

Not the best from the MCU but still worth watching
5 April 2024
I need to start off by saying I'm a huge fan of superhero movies and shows so my review for Secret Invasion may be a little biased, especially to people like me that love these shows. I even enjoy the superhero movies/shows that aren't as liked or as highly rated as the others. Having said that, I think Secret Invasion should be enjoyable to most. It's much more than just another superhero show, it's also a solid spy thriller. While there is still plenty of fun to have it's also a lot more serious than other Marvel projects and it moves the overall MCU story forward in a lot of ways. It also has plenty of Easter eggs throughout each episode. We learn more about Nick Fury in this series than all of the other movies and shows combined. Obviously, if you're a fan of the MCU this this is a must watch. It's only six episodes so you can binge the entire season over a weekend.

Amazing
5 April 2024
Peaky Blinders is without a doubt one of my favorite tv shows of all-time. I wanted to watch this after seeing the trailers and then I heard so many people talking about how great this show was, everyone I know who saw it loved it so it raised my expectations even more. When a show is that hyped it rarely lives up to it. Well, this show not only met those expectations but surpassed them in every way possible. The acting and writing is what makes this show so special but the attention to detail they put into every aspect of this show is amazing. This series will hook you from the very first episode and hold on throughout the series. Give yourself enough time to watch this because you're going to want to binge it as quickly as you can.

Halo (2022– )

Entertaining
3 April 2024
I actually enjoyed Halo a lot more than I thought I would. It's based off a video game about an enhanced super soldier they call Master Chief and his team as they defend humanity from Aliens and it takes place in the 26th Century. The special effects stand out as you can tell they put a lot of money into the show. It may start a little slow for some while it builds it world and it's characters but I found it extremely entertaining. It may get a little complicated for some of you who don't pay close attention though. I enjoyed this show so much that I binged the entire first two seasons over a weekend so I'm really looking forward to them making a few more seasons.

Entertaining Enough
1 April 2024
I know Avatar: The Last Airbender is one of the most popular and loved animated shows of all time. They even tried to make a movie about it back in 2010 the is universally panned. The animated series has a 9.4 rating here and the movie only a 4.0 so people have been hungry for a good live adaptation of the animated series for a long time. It's finally here. It's almost impossible to please everyone who liked the original animated series because everyone has their own expectations on how it should be and they hate when it differs even a little from the original. They don't seem to understand how they don't have the luxury of having unlimited episodes and get go as in depth as the original, it has to be adapted into only 8 episodes per season. I had no problem at all, I liked this series so much that I binged all 8 episodes in only 2 days. I just couldn't stop watching and already looking forward to next season.

The Winter King (2023– )

Entertaining Enough
28 March 2024
The Winter King is even better than I expected would be. It tells the story of how of former monk turned warrior, Arthur Pendragon, became known as King Arthur and the lord of war. My only hesitation was that the role of Arthur went to Iain De Caestecker who I only knew from Agents of Shield. His character in that was more of a nerdy scientist so I thought I would have a hard time buying him as Arthur. I was wrong. He is terrific as the lead here. Actually, the entire cast is great here except for the actress who plays Nimue. She's awful and badly written. If you're a fan of this story and King Arthur then this will not disappoint. It's a must watch for any Arthur fan.

This show is worth your time
28 March 2024
My brother and I watch a lot of tv and then review it so even though this came out last summer we just now finally got around to watching White House Plumbers and were very entertained by it. So much so that we binged all 5 episodes over a weekend. Woody Harrelson and Justin Theroux are absolutely brilliant in this political satire on one of the most famous events in American history. HBO is known for putting out the best quality tv there is and White House Plumbers is another home run from them. Even though there is a lot of satire in this, they never stray from the facts of what actually happened. You won't find anything that you didn't already know about Watergate but I promise you've never seen it from this point of view. I promise you'll laugh mo matter what political party you support. At only five episodes long, it's definitely worth your time.

Excellent
22 March 2024
I can't recommend Shogun enough! This is one of those rare shows that's a must watch. It takes place in Japan during the 1600' where Lord Yoshii Torango is turned on by Council of Regents and they try to kill him and his people. Then he finds a mysterious European ship marooned with its crew in a nearby village and everything changes from what he finds on it. This series has the look and feel of a blockbuster movie. Its world building, character development and attention to detail is as good as anything you'll see in tv. FX usually does a great job with its shows and Shogun is no different. I'll be shocked if this isn't nominated for several awards.

Looking forward to next season
18 March 2024
I had an absolute blast watching Mr. & Mrs. Smith. I just binged all 8 episodes over the weekend and it was such a fun show it flew by. This is both a good spy thriller and a good rom-com. Donald Glover and Maya Erksine are both terrific as the leads and every episode has guest stars from other well known actors. It had Alexander Skarsgard, Eiza Gonzalez, Paul Dano, John Turturro, Ron Perlman, Ursula Corbero, Sarah Paulson, Wagner Moura, Parker Posey, among others. Each episode was a different adventure and they were all fun to watch. Glover and Erksine star as John and Jane Smith. Two loners who are put together to work as spies for a mysterious organization.

Couldn't Stop Watching
15 March 2024
Hightown follows Ray Abruzzo (James Dale Badge) and Jackie Quinores (Monica Raymond) as they investigate serious crimes in Cape Cod. Quinores has a history of drug problems while she struggles to stay sober and Abruzzo spirals out of control from the stress of the job. Those two are at odds most of the series but really do work well together and will do whatever it takes to get the bad guys. It shows the lows of substance abuse and how the opioid epidemic has really effected people and torn peoples lives apart. Hightown is a fast paced thriller that will keep you entertained throughout the series.

Terrific
12 March 2024
Foundation is definitely a must watch for any sci-fi fan. I never read the source material and it seems that most of the people who don't like this are mad because it's not exactly like the book. Some people don't understand that these shows and movies are adapted or based off the source material. Some parts are a little slow and throws the pace off a little as it builds its world but not slow enough where it makes it bad. The visuals are as good as anything you'll find on tv. You can tell they put a lot of money into it and it shows. This also has some great characters that will make you invested in the show and actually care about what happens to them. While it's not the best sci-fi you'll ever see, it's definitely worth watching.
