Dunki (2023)
Made me laugh.. made me cry!
Made me laugh.. made me cry! Made me live a journey I never took.. made me feel emotions which I never knew existed- the desperation and the plight of people who take the "Dunki route".
Raju Hirani has created a masterpiece. Vicky, Tapsee and SRK have brought it to life as beautifully as possible. We rarely get to see such natural performances these days. Dil jeet lia sb hi ne.
It's more of an emotional drama than comedy. It's more of reality than fantasy.
Vicky's walk after *that* phone call, SRK's last scene at roof top, and the videography of "Nikle The Kabhi Hum Ghar Se" with all the flashbacks. Your eyes will be soaked in tears.
9 out of 10 stars for this magnum opus.
Its a must watch.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Tere Bin (2022)
Wahaj Ali's top notch performance saves the OVERLY DRAGGED Tere Bin
Tere Bin starts off promisingly with a captivating storyline that keeps you hooked for a while. However, as the drama progresses, it loses its charm. The only redeeming factor is Wahaj Ali's outstanding portrayal of a domineering landlord with a complex personality, and Yumna complements him well.
If the drama had been properly directed, it could have concluded within 25 episodes. Unfortunately, the excessive use of repetitive and extended flashbacks, along with a dragged storyline, results in a staggering 58 episodes. The director's execution failed miserably in this aspect.
Is it worth watching?
The answer is both yes and no depending on who you are.
No, if you are normal person who values their time.
Reason: the plot is mundane, predictable and painfully dragged.
Yes, if you are a Wahaj Fan! You would love how the handsome man dominates the screen in every episode unfailingly.
5/10 stars for the story. These 5 stars are for Wahaj, Yumna, Farhan Ali Agha, Sabeena and Sohail Sameer for their praiseworthy performances.
Runway 34 (2022)
Runway 34- a blend of Sully and Breaking Bad's S2E13 "ABQ"
It's clear that this movie draws significant inspiration from Tom Hanks' nonfiction drama "Sully."
The film follows the journey of a courageous airliner captain who defies official protocols and becomes the savior of the day. Despite his heroic and successful efforts to safely land the plane, he faces an inquiry that questions his actions.
In addition to "Sully," it seems that the writer of this movie might have taken cues from Breaking Bad Season 2 Episode 13, titled "ABQ."
Similar to the episode, the movie features an air traffic controller who is weighed down by the loss of his daughter, resulting in an error that leads to a significant problem.
Runway34 cleverly incorporates this element into their story, mirroring the emotional turmoil of the character and the consequences of their actions.
Overall, this film blends the intense and gripping elements from "Sully" with the character-driven storytelling found in "Breaking Bad," creating a captivating narrative that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats.
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (2006)
O DIRECTOR! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!
It's not in any way as good or half as good as the first Pirates of the Caribbean (The Curse Of Black Pearl).
The Dead Man's Chest is a disappointing sequel, a drag. And whats more disappointing is the fact that despite being overly lengthy, the movie offers very little screentime to Captain Jack Sparrow! I mean whats the point of making a sequel when you (O Director) tend to focus on everything but the mainstay of the movie.
The storyline is slightly muddled so you have got to pay extra attention! C'on, director, this ain't no Godfather, you should have kept it simple.
Full marks for visual effects but the weird mythological creatures shown look creepy and disgusting and you just dont want to see them. A person watches a movie like this to laugh and have a good time and not to feed their eyes with the sight of senselessly ugly creatures.
The biggest tragedy about this sequel was its lack of humor!! O DIRECTOR! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!
You should {/have to} watch this movie if you want to watch next movies of POC series as it is an important link.
I give the deadman's chest 4/10 stars. It's predecessor set the bar really high and this one was just not good enough but SOLID PERFORMANCES by JD, Keira and OB made is passable. Thumbs up to them.
