Trainwreck (2015)
Only because of Bill Hader
Yes, only because of Bill Hader I watched this show. Also, he and Lebron are great together.
Grey's Anatomy: If/Then (2012)
GREAT EPISODE
Some people can be very lazy when watching a show. They don't think about the depths of the storyline or the ironies of in a story. Some are also close-minded and not creative enough to entertain different scenarios or alternate realities. That is maybe why some people who watched this episode did not like it. But to me, IT IS DEFINITELY IN THE TOP TEN BEST EPISODES. And it's one of the episodes I have watched again and again.
What's evident in this episode is the difference of relationships, who's with who, and it may seem random at first but when you analyze the pairings they actually make sense. It's possible for Callie and Owen to be together because they both want to have children. Avery would subtly be into Cristina because she STILL slays as a surgeon but also because she is not in a relationship and unlike in the reality, she does not outright reject him or tell him she's involved. Since Meredith is essentially a different person, the MAGIC friendship was not developed. Izzie and George wouldn't have anyone being there for them which is why their characters ended up worse than how they actually did. And we can totally see a Mer and April friendship, being the happy perfect girls they are. And like a butterfly effect, everything else falls in place. The Shepherds still in conflict with their marriage since Derek never had someone that actually motivated him to end his relationship with Addison. Lexie unfortunately gets the bad childhood and life. Way worse than how Meredith's actual life was.
I would commend the writers and anyone involved for coming up with this intricacies but really I applaud THE WRITERS. It's the subtle statements and small things that made it awesome for me. Like how for a while I felt bad that Teddy was not included in this episode and I thought the writers weren't able to fit her character in the storyline but later Callie brings her up not knowing she is a woman and thinking she is a close guy friend of Owen helping him with his trauma. Like WOAH. Owen wouldn't have her come to Seattle Grace because there was already a Cardio Surgeon PLUS think of the PAIN and STRESS of now knowing their friendship/relationship and having Teddy far from him in this reality. I feel so bad for Owen here. How stresseful it must be for him to try healing from his trauma whilst being worried about his kids.
While watching I kept thinking about how things were plausible and aligning and it irked me that there was no suitable reason why Callie became a Cardiothoracic Attending instead of Ortho and lo and behold! In a short chitchat with Bailey she manages to share why and also make us realize how Ellis Grey was being controlling of everyone.
I love the controntation scene with Meredith and Cristina (and other attendings) in the locker room. Such great writing and acting.
The ending is SO GREAT and POIGNANT! It takes us back to the start, with Yang pointing out what kind of friendship she and Mer would have and Mer with Derek becoming just the guy and the girl in the bar. Perfect!!!
And this episode deserves a review even just for Charles saying "Oh, just shoot me now."
THAT WAS BOLD.
And Ironic.
I LOVED IT.
Grey's Anatomy: These Arms of Mine (2010)
Wonderful Episode
This episode is great! It's such a unique initiative. It is of great effort to make a fictional series seem real and showing the trauma and hardships whilst staying on track with the storylines of every character. Watching these makes you forget for a while that the characters are fictional and actually makes you sympathize with victims of mass shooting. Kudos to everyone who worked on this episode! :D
Community: Contemporary American Poultry (2010)
Awesome
What a great episode! Awesome writing and references, similarities with Goodfellas. Hahhahaha great humor.
Grey's Anatomy: Where the Boys Are (2006)
Just for that
So much of this episode is great and many lines, well-written.
But I'm specifically rating this episode 10 because of Mark Sloan's reaction in the bar when Meredith replies to Derek.
Maybe he was not planning anything or maybe planning something with Meredith idc but that disappointed super tiny smile plus sigh is so endearing and sad I really felt sorry and secondhand-embarassment. So happy with his character development btw.
Grey's Anatomy: Don't Stand So Close to Me (2006)
Ugh
I'm so annoyed with Izzie, George and Alex here. Thank God Meredith stood up for Cristina at the end.
Grey's Anatomy: From a Whisper to a Scream (2006)
AMAZING EPISODE
Gripping
The Cristina and Burke storyline is just INTENSE! Woohooots so stressed by this episode
Add to that the stressful George storyline, so unlike him to say some of the things he said in this episode to Izzie and Cristina and Callie I realized he had many flaws, too.
Tension!
Awesome episode!
And the storyline of the patients T.T
I'm not making much sense I'm still not over the stress.
Grey's Anatomy: Who's Zoomin' Who? (2005)
That line though
Can we talk about how Derek says
"Meredith, I'm so sorry." in that last scene???!!!
That alone is worth the ten stars I gave this episode, it's just a really heartfelt delivery. He could have cursed or anything but he thougt about Meredith. I know, I know. He should have told her before but still, it doesn't take away the sincerity of that line. Seeing Addison walking towards them, Derek said the perfect line.
Plus the Christina and Burke scene, it's cute how they reassure each other about the syphilis thing.
Gosh, I JUST watched the episode and I'm willing to see it again. xD
Grey's Anatomy: The First Cut Is the Deepest (2005)
Great Second Episode
It's usually the Pilot episode in TV shows that are remembered well and always brought up but I just want to commend the second episode of this show. I am rewatching the series and I remember most of the second episode's storylines. And I really appreciate it now that I know more about the character already and especially Meredith, most of the characters have always been consistent with how they are (Meredith not following protocol and talking to the baby's parents to many other things she did in the coming episodes and seasons). There was a time when I felt like her actions were too much but I realized it's how she's always been.
And the soundtrack is amazing. Great choice of songs. It really complements the events in the story.
If I hadn't known better, I would think that Burke is Meredith's love interest just because of the stuff that happened in this episode. What an interesting what-if. This is just probably me so not gonna delve deeper on that.
Modern Family: New Kids on the Block (2019)
Least Favorite Premiere
I totally forgot the others but the last episode before this, the clan was always together and I was hoping that for the last premiere they would show a usual storyline where everyone deals with their silly problems in the Pritchett's house and then end with a nice full of wisdom voiceover and montage. All together!
The storylines were at best fine but anything about Jay and his love for Stella I really love, too. There wasn't much of that. Only more of Manny and Sherry which was okay with Gloria's help but still I can live without.
While not that funny, I understand the hardship of creating a storyline for the Dunphys. It's hard to think of a unique storyline that would 1) fit the family in terms of roles or part and 2) feel relatable to many but not cliche and 3) not a gag done in the previous eps in previous seasons (baby Lily and Joe storylines).
I understand the frustrations of the audience who have been watching since the beginning but if you don't love it anymore, you can just stop watching it. Don't ruin it for us who still enjoy it and even in the bad storylines, find the silver lining. Calling something trash also makes for a trashy review.
Modern Family: A Year of Birthdays (2019)
Great Season Ender
This show is so fast-paced that when people watch certain storylines they don't seem attached to, they feel it's too long and then judge the whole episode as bad. There were few pain-in-the-stomach lines and jokes this season but there were more tear-inducing and heartwarming moments and this last episode was a great culmination of those times. It was showcased in a different set-up unlike the usual episodes but it was a crafty way of storytelling and I could feel just every character being there. Which is what I love most about the show, there are just enough people to love. I didn't know that there was still an 11th season when I watched this and maybe it's the thought of it being last that made me cry really hard but also it's the wonderful homage to the first episode during the last scene. :)
Nothing is better than having more diverse and funny characters to get to know and love.
Modern Family: Snapped (2019)
Jay
It seemed weird and off that Jay had no storyline in this episode but you know what made up for it? That last scene. It was funny and nice at the same time. I wonder why Ed has few scenes here though hmm.
LOL with Claire trying to keep everyone out of the house. xD I can't believe she still let Luke be with his girlfriend although that part was really funny ("Adult" Luke hahaha) And Alex? Hahahaha no escape from the cold.
I enjoyed Mitch and Cam and their fridge storyline, while a tad impossible, still interesting. Plus that Shallow song and Throuple Pepper and Ronaldo talk. It puts me at ease how Mitch and Cam resolve their issues.
And my favorite, SNAPPED! Who would've thought Phil would like to watch creepy murder documentaries hahahaha and it's cliche how Gloria seems to have the talent for realty but going with the flow of this show, it will be fun to see more of her and Phil's relationship, one that is not toxic and weird like how it would seem from the jokes of the first seasons.
WE HAVE TO TALK ABOUT THAT little Luke scene with Gloria on the phone. So cute! Where did they dig that up? xD I NOW WANNA see the episode it was supposed to be in and every extra scenes from the past not included in the final cuts.
Modern Family: Commencement (2019)
Commencement
I felt like they could have made better storylines for Mitch and Jay here. Otherwise, while this episode might have just breezed by without a "climax", it was great idea to have Haley and Luke inspire Alex to join the graduation and not the elders giving more wisdom. A fresh perspective.
It might not be as well-written and crafty as the other episodes but I still love seeing then them all together in an episode.
And contrary to some beliefs, I still think the show is good up to this point.
Modern Family: Can't Elope (2019)
Things I Love About this Episode
Cam and Mitch and Lily
- singing together funny Sophie's Choice lyrics
- Sophie's Choice references
- Lily also bothered about the CAPTCHA thing and then smiling when her dads succeed to get seats for the play
- getting mad about the postponed wedding then getting instantly okay by singing
- Choices! Choices! So many voices! xD
Frank
- Haley and Andy? xD lmaoo when they can't think of another joke, good thing there was a follow-up by the weird dog lover hahahah Halsey and Derek XD
Jay, Gloria, Manny and Joe
- I gotta say I NEVER GET TIRED of Pritchett and Stella storylines, I just love that side of Jay hahahahah
- YEAP, it's 2019! Kudos to Jay and the writers and to everyone who made that part happen, that scene was very timely, very funny and Jay's words were very True!
Ronaldo
- YES, this unexpected addition was worth it! I love Ronaldo, especially when he's not bitching with Pepper and just helping out xD
Luke and Tinder Girl
- Apologies for forgetting her name, she was just another addition for humor
- So in character of Luke to bring a new girl he just met to his sister's impromptu wedding hahahaha
Alex and Bill
- This couple is the endgame for me, I haven't finished yet, I hope they really are!
- cello nd bagpipes, anyone? xD
Claire and Phil
- another one of their parenting moments that make me teary-eyed
- their reactions after Haley tells them she wants them at her wedding
Haley and Dylan
- those first few lines in the cold open
- the fact that Dylan proposed six times and yet felt so happy (This is just how I imagined it.) when Haley proposed to him
I firmly believe that Dylan has improved immensely (stability-wise) and he and Haley both deserve each other. They are at ease with and love each other very much. Their stupid comments or quirks may seem like they're not an ideal couple but who are? At least here they are at the same level and undestand each other. We won't forget Andy but from the start he was already so mature and had wisdom that I feel together, he would just be one step ahead of Haley emotionally. This is me trying to rationalize things because I totally support Haley and Dylan together. Dylan has been part of the family for me, being there in so many iconic moments like the first family big fight with Dede then singing his song (everyone got LSS) and helping Phil in that Godfather homage series of revenge tactics, and so much more XD I don't have a case, but I gotta rest.
Modern Family: Yes-Woman (2019)
Drunk Elizabethan Kepler Award
This show has great writers. They make good comedy with that double meaning statements and funny misunderstandings leading to fun situations. Hahahaha
I still cringe at Claire and that last scene hahahahahaha and can we talk about Luke acting like such an adult when talking to Denise? lmaoo
And Manny's lines may need Jay's replies to be funny but I still love his exposure here. I miss Manny being a lover of poetry, etc.
Though Cam and Mitch's storyline wasn't as interesting as the others', their lines were pretty funny, especially the cold open. xD
The Phil and Alex storyline was heartwarming and Alex's line about not making the four best years the best struck something in me. This will ultimately be one of the duo's best moments.
Modern Family: Stand by Your Man (2019)
Dunphy Guys and Joanne from Riverside
Definitely the best storyline here is the one with Phil, Luke, Dylan and Bill. I seldom saw Luke with a proper and funny storyline in the previous episodes, plus a storyline that many can probably relate to. This is also a promising group to watch. Their personalities/quirks (manifested in their lines) surprisingly don't overlap but you can tell they will bond over many things.
I particularly liked the Pritchetts' storyline because of how supportive they were of Jay and with what Gloria did at the end to help Jay overcome anxiety. So cute. And way cuter are those dog beds. MUST BUY ONE. xD
I wasn't too fond of the Cam and Mitch storyline although I liked that in this episode it was actually Mitch who's "not normal". Most commonly in other episodes, it's Cam that is dramatic or overly-dressed. It was fresh to see Mitch being the one in that role. And I laughed at that Pam joke. Kekeke apologies.
The Claire and Lily storyline was almost great? I felt like it lacked something but I can't really tell but I it's good that they were consistent with Lily's weirdness of having interest on morbid things. I feel like I am the Lily in our family and it's great that they have a character like that in the show.
Modern Family: Stuck in a Moment (2018)
That End Though
This episode may not be as great or memorable as the other ones are, (the Cam and Mitch storyline a bit obnoxious although I always support and want more Lily exposure) but the last part really makes me cry. When Haley finally tells everyone that she's pregnant it's really heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time because got really quiet like everyone was waiting for Claire and Phil's reactions first before reacting (as a respect). Then they take a picture all together and the camera pans to Phil and Claire. Claire asks Phil is its gonna be alright and Phil assures her but their faces have this expression that shows how terrified and shocked they are. I don't have kids and don't actually feel how it feels to know my child is pregnant and not yet settled but this scene is the closest to how I'll probably feel, or how everyone does. What also makes me cry is the thought that they could have gone with it another way. Phil or most likely Claire, could have gone really mad but she didn't and they try to seem happy about it, which for me makes things more painful.
And to anyone who doesn't like that Haley ends up with Dylan, sorry I can't sympathize with you.
Andy's the best bet for her but he would just have been another Phil.
I love this show.
The Family Stone (2005)
UGH
Why is Claire Danes first in the billing?
Julie Morton wasn't as lovable as how she was intended to be and SHE WAS NOT A GOOD SISTER AT ALL.
As far as I know, there is as much injustice done to Meredith Morton by the family as to Sarah Jessica Parker when the writers decided she end up with the brother. She should have gone far away them.
Modern Family: Snow Ball (2016)
Sad
Just a bit disappointed that we never get to see Gloria getting surprised by the arrival of Jay in his sweater at the gym.
Scorpion: Sharknerdo (2017)
Sharknerdo I Intend To
Walter assuming Cabe's discovery of the wreckage and Happy expecting Walter to be making a raft are great manifestations of their group thinking. Great minds think alike.
They always do it in this series when communication is unavailable. I love it.
The moving shots of Paige and Walter in the water made me feel like I was also with them. Awesome way to shoot it. I know they always survive in the end of an episode but sometimes it gets scary or highly unlikely and makes me think, HOW WILL THEY GET OUT OF THIS? Not this ep though. Waige moments especially the bickering are funny! Plus Toby and the Pirate thing lmaoo
Damn I typed these initial thoughts while still watching it and now I just finished watching the scene with Walter and Paige discovering the buoy.
And boy was Walter right!
Like what I said on my previous reaction, it was Paige's job to handle them regarding the dealing with people issues. When Walter said he should dock her pay, my thoughts exactly! (Great minds think alike? Hahaha dream on Kimmy)
So it started out funny then emotional with Walter expressing how he felt about Paige distancing herself from him. He's a troubled egotistical genius, but he's really really a real softie, too. I can't help but swoon.
So in character of Sly not to use the situation to his advantage in the election. Another softie here.
Cabe and Toby team-up are great. Definitely need more of that.
And thank you for the QUINTIS scene!!!
It was heartmelting, as well as the WAIGE scene. While I love the episode endings when everything is resolved or realized, I always hate it when Walter is left alone in the garage so this was a really wonderful episode for me.
The Haunting of Hill House: Two Storms (2018)
Raising the Bar
I am so amazed by this episode!
I just read the other reviews and I completely agree!
THAT ONE TAKE. That was perfection.
The gut-wrenching lines. This is good drama right here. I understand and empathize with everyone. Usually in shows I already have characters I root for, this one I definitely have a hard time not caring for each one of them.
The last part with Nellie crying and telling everyone how they didn't hear her, carrying much more meaning than just the first storm event.
The jumpscares were just enough. And that camera movement really keeps me on my toes, just thinking what might show up.
NO DRAGS. Excitement is real not knowing what happens next and getting blindsided by the transitions from and to past and present.
When everyone was standing watching Nellie and Bent-Neck Lady was there...
Oh goodness, EVERYTHING was great here.

Scorpion: The Hole Truth (2017)
The Hole Truth About Awesome Cabe
I haven't even gotten over Cabe almost dying in that desert and they make him almost drown here, too. What I love though is Sly and the other guy hesitating so Cabe says "Great, send the old guy down." That was so underrated, especially since he started taking off his coat as he says it. Cabe, despite almost dying and of course the countless ridiculous and UNSAFE situations he's in or about to be in, NEVER hesitates to do it. (Except maybe this time for the comedic effect of the three of them looking at each other lmao). This is one of those moments that remind me how much I love the old man. :)
I love the writing in this episode. Paige's Mom's quote about Walter being Pinocchio and becoming a real boy someday was really nice. Now, it's a bit bothersome for me why everyone is okay with this and Cabe even giving fake IDs but FAMiLY, amiright?
Awesome thing with QUINTIS being worried about Walter. Even with their own social interaction and emotional expression problems, they still help Walter deal with the chief. Supposedly Paige's job and I understand what she thinks she's trying to do but she was brought in the team for that very reason. Also, not a fan with Happy still addressing to her as a waitress, given that they had spent a lot of time already and Paige should mean more to them than being the waitress. Maybe this is Happy subconsciously implying that the waitress can do better job than them at handling the Walt problem or it's just a nickname. I don't know. Maybe this was also to remind us because Paige brings up when she meets the bad guy later. As if we forgot what she used to do before Scorpion.
Anyway. So much about that.
Overall, good episode. No romantic Quintis scene like I want to see but this was more of their friendship. I love that they work together on this.
Still don't know what to feel about Sly and the whole election thing.
Last Night (2018)
Thoughts
The trailer was very promising but a few minutes into the movie I knew I wasn't gonna get as much as I've expected.
It's a Whodunit mystery that can happen to any one of us if we keep at it with these lies and betrayal.
From their facial expressions and gestures at the party, you definitely know something is up with the characters but since we're only getting flashbacks from Holly's POV, we don't get to know the other characters much, get a feel of who I'm NOT rooting for, and it's hard to care really whoever did it.
Spoiler!
So Tim's the guy.
But I didn't really feel convinced even with the flashbacks for his expressions. Did he plan it before the party? Did he know Ray was going to come? Does he know about Ray and Joanna? If so, why didn't he bring it up? So he didn't care about Joanna cheating on him because he is still into Holly? Did he think/plan this for a long time ago? Maybe not. That's farfetched.
And I am assuming Joanna and Ray had an affair just as I assume Lois and Glenn do. This was never tackled much.
What about that last minute Joanna stabbing Tim? That was a quick and weird shot I guess. PLUS no Joanna reactions during the revelation? It was useful with the masks things (the most detail for hint/clue thid movie had) but she was still a character who was supposedly in a rrlationship with Tim, why wasn't she freaked out by Tim?
I will say I still love Eddie Kaye.
I watched this film because of him and while there wasn't much power in that revelation scene (and the freaking out near the ending scene didn't do any better), he still got me believing he was just a sweetie because throughout the film I thought it was freaking Joanna. xD
Still KUDOS! to everyone behind this film, I'd still make my kids watch it just so they realize how important it is to keep siblings close and UGH, NOT setting up your sisters with guys who have a thing for you!
