The Simpsons: To Surveil, with Love (2010)
Funny episode, minus the god awful opening
This was a pretty neat episode. after a bomb scare, Springfield ends up with CCTV cameras; much of the plot is based on the criticism against CCTV cameras, and whatnot. Eddie Izzard was alright, but hearing him voice the Queen was a riot. funny gags including the "17 Incredible Hulks and one Spider-Man" Chief Wiggum perving on the topless woman sunbathing, and Bart setting up the border for the blind-spot while mooning Flanders. One thing that did bother me was the opening. everyone lip-syncing to Ke$ha's crap-fest "Tik Tok" I mean, ugh! the song was critically panned cause it sounds like a ripoff of Lady Gaga's "Just Dance" all and all, Ke$ha sucks and that was a letdown to fans for hearing that garbage before the episode. still a good one though.
Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (2006)
what a way to destroy a legendary icon
"oh wow! a new cartoon starring mickey mouse!" i watched this with my two younger cousins one day, unfortunately this show is a piece of crap. what has come to the magic world of Disney? they have killed mickey mouse & his friends by turning them into 3D/CG horrors & make them educate kids by sounding like idiots. there is a load of annoying/overused catchphrases, not-so-very educational material, & breaking the fourth wall which is not as entertaining anymore after the late 60s (saturday morning shows have killed fourth wall breaking jokes & shows) what also makes this show bad is a horrifying theme song which the gang dance like retards to (especially goofy) and the lyrics are as ear-bleeding as the musical numbers in most Disney movies. (ugh...) Walt Disney must be spinning in his liquid nitrogen grave.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Manhattan Missions (1991)
the rarest & best PC TMNT game.
i remember i had this game back when Microsoft still had MS DOS computers (1991) what makes this game a collector's item is that it's a game similar to Prince of Persia one & two with one-shot areas. also it appears to be based more on the graphic novels rather than the old crappy 1987 TV show, although Bebop & Rocksteady were bosses in two missions where they're joined with the mafia, purple dragons & FOOT. Leatherhead is also a boss where he's mind controlled by Baxter Stockman (who is sadly caucasian instead of his original African American) triceratons are also included invading a factory & stealing, the only bosses include a triceraton gunman, a triceraton in a rocket-suit, & three gunman with a rocket soldier before them. one of the few original enemies include mouse/cat gangsters lead by a rat don, a terrorist controlling large black robots & spider-like droids & Tatsu from the movies who is first fought in a Asian town & at Shredder's tower. when all missions are finished, you go to Shredder's tower. each boss is a foot member with the same weapon as the turtles, first is a master black-belt with a BO staff, Karia with nunchaku, Tatsu with sai, & a samurai with dual katana blades. when you beat all of them, you must battle the Shredder who is pretty easy. the game ends with a video of the turtles taking Shredder to a police officer, & they celebrate with a barbecue along with Master Splinter, April O'Neil & Casey Jones. nowadays Konami & Peter Laird probably have forgotten about this game which is now free to download. get this game if you can, it's the best.
Daikyojû Gappa (1967)
a bizarre kaiju film with giant gryphon-esquire creatures
i only saw this once & once only. people find this egg of an unknown animal, when it hatches it turns out to be a strange sea monster. the parents find the egg missing & go on a destructional rampage destroying cities, sinking ships, crashing planes while flying & burninating people with elemental breathes until they find they're baby. at the end they are reunited by they're child who is now older with the humans happily watching, they see the giant dragons fly off back to they're cave not to be disturbed again, along with the film's badly sang theme song ending it. it was the only kaiju film this company did, just an attempt to get big money like the Godzilla & gamera series that were around at the same time. it's still an enjoyable movie, the DVD could be a rare find & collectors's item for kaiju fans. the monsters are the most interesting of many famous ones: they have eagle-like beaks with pteranodon-like crest, large wings with scales in the place of feathers, horns under they're cat-like ears, large red owl-like eyes, & complete the creature with the usual amphibious Dino-man body. if you're into very rare monster movies? this one is a great find.
Garfield and Friends (1988)
good cartoon based on the comic strip
i used to watch this show when it was on, there were lots of references of the comics. heck, the quickies were actually animated versions of the comics. it also featured a cartoon of Jim Davis's lesser known comic strip "US acres/Orson's farm" i can see why no one liked the Orson pig shorts due to having a musical number on nearly every single short. what was annoying about this show is that they broke the "4TH wall" all the time, & the jokes about the "klopman diamond" were annoying as well. some unknown reason, Arlene never appeared in the show & was replaced with a girl cat named Penelope. the show has come to DVD 2 years before, & so far only volume 1 is available in Australia, & it's taking forever for the rest of them to come out. after all, this was a fantastic kid's show, even for Garfield fans.
