Tell Me Your Secrets (2021)
Wow! This is extremely dark and Twisted.
I've seen quite a few bad reviews and I have to saw after just completing the series, the psychological dread was strong with this one.
First of all Lily Rabe and Hammish Linklater are absolutely terrific in this. I'm a huge Amy Brennamen fan but I had issues with her character. I'm not sure who the ultimate monster is. There was little background given to Mary, save for her daughter having gone missing to make her act the way she did, imo.
I found the series extremely gripping. My gripes would be the score was too over the top a lot of the time, a B Plot that could have been cut and the way the last episode turned into a Friday the 13th movie. Horror/ no one's ever dead.
Those are a lot of gripes to still give it a 9. But, I found Lily Rabe and Hamish Linklater just that good.
I heard they took this series off of the dustheap of TNT who thought it was too dark, so I'm not betting on a Season 2 to continue Karen/Emma, John and Mary's stories, unfortunately.
The Crown: Dear Mrs. Kennedy (2017)
Not sure why this is getting high scores.
The Kennedy's were so miscast that it ruined what could have been an extremely powerful episode.
Michael C. Hall is a joke as the President. Jackie was luke-warm.
The private one-on-one conversations between Elizabeth and Jackie were still the hi-light thanks to Claire Foy.
The scene showing Jack hitting Jackie was despicable, imo.
I'd rate this lower but there was some good tension.
Burden of Truth (2018)
Have only watched Season 1.
I find it average at best. It would get a 7/10 from me if not for the awful, eye-rolling music that plays at the end of each episode.
The storyline isn't anything new but the plot is enjoyable to follow and the acting is quite good. Have never been a KK fan going back to Smallville so will have to disagree with those that find her excellent in the series.
Hoping Season 2 builds on this one.
