Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969)
51 years later, I See the World Differently
I saw this movie in 1969. Then again in 2020. I now see Butch and Sundance as two heartless criminals that rob the poor farmers of Bolivia in small villages that don't have a pot to piss in. Butch and Sundance randomly kill Bolivian policemen that are making $15 a month to feed their families. Back in 1969, this was all a bunch of swell fun as the romantic antiheroes roamed the countryside.
Outlander (2014)
Why didn't I check first with IMDB "User Reviews" before watching? I will forevermore
This is my first IMDB review. "Outlander" inspired me to make an account.
If you want to save your immortal soul and preserve mental well-being, you must not watch this series. First, there is the "hook." Who would not want to enter in to the enchanted world of Scotland, 1745? But this program will take you down into the depths of depravity "from whose bourn no traveler returns." My fellow "one star" commentators sufficiently describe the horrors of Season #1, Ep 15/16. But I see no mention of Season #2, where CPT Randall rapes the young boy.. I assume that is because my fellow "One Stars" had the sense to "tap-out" after Season #1. I wanted this series to be good. I foolishly believed that Season #2 might straighten out because the sick writers had already hit rock bottom in the Season #1 Finale. My imagination could not conceive of a scenario where they could drop lower. I was wrong. I am suffering PTSD, because I will never be able to "unsee" what I saw, no matter how long I live. I understand the actors have to feed their families, but I would prefer starvation rather than attach my name to this production. Think of that little boy that had to rehearse that scene several times. They didn't have to do that to the young man. They didn't care. Lesson learned, Before turning on any movie in the future, I will diligently come to IMDB first. To the "One Star" section. Where truth can be found.
