Beowulf (2007)
Feels like a mythology-inspired rewrite
This movie isn't bad, but it's not that good either. The animation is absolutely stunning, as at first I thought it was live action. The story, though, doesn't really stay faithful to the original. For example, the dragon is the son of Beowulf and Grendel's mother. This isn't true in the poem. I'm sure it would be pretty good for someone who doesn't know much/hasn't read the original, but the fact that it doesn't stay true to the original somewhat bothered me a little. The animation is the best part of the movie, though the story could just use a little work for me. Other than that, it was a pretty good watch.
Spaceballs (1987)
Hilarious
I'm not a huge fan of Star Wars and I enjoyed this movie quite a lot. Literally hilarious, I laugh every time. I love Mel Brooks.
Leo the Lion (2005)
Would give a 0/10 if I could
Leo the Lion is about a vegetarian lion who leaves his pride to find the heart of the jungle where he is said to be free from all harm that comes and he goes on an adventure with his friends, where throughout the movie he meets animal friends along the way.
This movie is just plain awful with parts that make no sense. Ripped off the Lion King and Madagascar multiple times.
There's also moments where it plainly tries to make the movie longer to fit the 1+ hour time limit. Clips are reused, clips are slowed down for no reason, etc.
I feel like a lot of characters are very dull. Most characters don't have background stories or a personality that helps contribute to the plot of the film, making them hard to sympathize and connect with the characters.
Less than ten minutes in as Savanna gives birth, you can hear her moaning for a couple minutes straight. It was extremely painful to watch. (And in a kids movie? Seriously?)
Even if they wanted to, lions can't be vegetarian. There's no reason other than "he just doesn't prefer meat" that explains why Leo is a vegetarian. The entire movie just feels extremely confusing for me.
The animation is quite bad, as the lip syncing is horrible and there's some frames where you can see some sort of cloud thing disappear from the top of Savanna's head. But the animation isn't as bad as Joshua and the Promised Land's animation.
I feel like this movie is worse than Joshua and the Promised Land since I feel like Joshua and the Promised Land actually had a good concept with Joshua travelling back in time to learn about courage and history, but it was the animation that made it a terrible movie.
This movie makes the Emoji Movie look like an actually good movie. Don't waste your time on this movie.
The Swan Princess (1994)
Good plot, but dull characters
I recently dug out a bunch of DVDs from my childhood which includes The Swan Princess.
The plot is pretty interesting and I definitely felt like it was a good story, but I felt like the characters were dull which made it less enjoyable. For example, Bromley shows up at random moments and his character isn't developed much.
I've never seen the movie sequels, so perhaps the characters are developed more and are less dull in the sequels, but I did hear the sequels are quite bad and this one's probably the best one out of the Swan Princess movie hellhole. This is pretty good for a knockoff Disney movie, but I felt like the characters weren't very enjoyable.
Faiâ emuburemu: Fuuka setsugetsu (2019)
Best Switch game I've played
My love for this game cannot be described with words. It's too large to even be described by words. I recommend everyone with a Switch to play this.
Yûgiô: 5D's (2008)
Best YGO series
5DS is better than the original. Not saying that GX and the original were bad, as I did enjoy them, but I enjoyed this one too. I love it so much and years and years later I still do, but the English dub cut out a lot of stuff from the original, so definitely watch the Japanese version if you want the real experience of the show. English definitely has the best cast members though.
