Spectacular! (2009)
The Next High School Musical?
Spectacular! is Nickelodeon's attempt to compete with Disney for the High School Musical franchise. If you think it won't live up to the title.....
Guess again! Spectacular! is an amazing movie about Nikko Alexander (Nolan Gerard Funk), a wannabe rock star whose band gives him the boot. Watching the scene behind the venue is Courtney Lane (Tammin Sursok) who, minutes later, offers him a position in her school sponsored group, Spectacular! Nikko formally says "I'll think about it" upon her offer to check them out at the county fair the next day. When he does, he realizes, their rival group, Ta-Da--lead by Tammi Dyeson (Victoria Justice) and former Spectacular! member, Royce du Lac (Simon Curtis)--is much better and declines her offer.
After a meeting with a music producer, Nikko agrees to join Spectacular! after now having to convince Courtney. The rest of the journey is filled with catchy tunes and rough turns for Nikko and Courtney when several different complications pop upon along their way to the Nationals competition.
This movie is better than High School Musical in my opinion. As a High School Musical lover, it takes a lot out of me to say that, but it is the truth. It is an amazing production. The music will be engraved in your head and it will be hard to extract yourself from the sight of the movie. 10 out of 10 on this movie. Nickelodeon definitely lived up to Disney's level.
Island Prey (2001)
I Loved This Movie!
Unlike another user who said this movie sucked (and that Olivia Hussey was terrible), I disagree.
This movie was amazing!!!!!! Olivia Hussey is awesome in everything she's in! Yeah she may be older now, because many remember her from Romeo and Juliet, but she's wonderful!
This story line may be used quite often, but it's a unique movie and I'll fight back on anyone who disagrees! I enjoyed this movie just as much as I have any other Olivia Hussey movie. Olivia's "my girl" and I love her work.
I saw this for the first time on Saturday (4/14/07) and fell in love with it. Not only because's it's an Olivia movie, but because of it's unique story line and wonderful direction.
Romeo and Juliet (1968)
Two Perfect Actors For Two Perfect Roles!
Franco Zefferelli knew what he was doing when casting for Romeo and Juliet in his amazing movie-get two unknowns and turn them into stars! Leonard Whiting and Olivia Hussey weren't born to play Romeo and Juliet-they are Romeo and Juliet.
Whiting (HOTTIE!) is an amazing actor. Not only did he capture Romeo, he captured us into believing he was Romeo. He was outstanding during the Capulet ball, the balcony scene, the duel between Romeo and Tybalt-everything he was seen in during this movie! No better actor for Romeo than Leonard Whiting (not even Leo DiCaprio).
Hussey brought out an amazing appearance for Juliet. She is exceptional and worthy of fame! I truly believe she is Juliet Capulet (regardless of what anyone tells me). Claire Danes couldn't measure up to this incredible actress and Olivia is the only actress worthy to have played such a role. Anyone else and it probably would have been terrible.
The movie was amazing and I believe that it wasn't because of an outstanding director-it was because of two amazing actors!
Return to Halloweentown (2006)
Lucas Grabeel&Sara Paxton were amazing!
I was so geared up to see this movie since August and it was truly the best of the 4! Lucas Grabeel (HOTTIE) was awesome Sara Paxton (whom I normally don't like) was amazing as well! They have great chemistry Lucas and Sara!
Ethan did something I didn't except! I'm not gonna give it away for people who haven't sen it! And Marnie really was shocked but got over it quickly! And I mean *very* quickly!
The Sinister sisters (Kristy Wu, Kellie Cockrell, and Kattie Cockrell) were awesome! I'm not saying I actually liked them, but I think they gave this movie a little comedy!
My favorite scene: The laundry room scene between Ethan&Marnie!
Least favorite scene: When the Sinister sister turned Dylan into a dog!
Funniest scene: The very last scene!
