Great film, weak explanation
17 June 2023
A very good and important film. They should have made it clear is was biden who did this. It was biden who gave the country back to the terrorists and condemned all of those interpreters to death. It was biden who called that, and left billions of dollars of equipment behind in the process. All those years, all those lives, for absolutely nothing. Because of that man. If you can call him a man.

You know if the withdrawal as it happened was ordered by Trump, it would have been stated that he was president at the time. It would not have just been "America withdrew", it would be "Trump ordered the withdrawal and the carnage that has happened since is on his head".

Are they trying to make the mum unlikable?
28 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This episode seems unnecessarily poor. Sheldon wants a computer and the dad says they can't afford it. It turns out the mother has been saving money from 'here and there' and might have enough to buy it. Dad asks how much, mum says it's not his business.

He reasonably responds with 'so my money is our money, but your money is your money', she says 'yes'.

Then the rest of the episode tries to convince you that she's 'right' and he should apologise, which in the end, he does. Ridiculous. All it does is make the mum and grandmother out to be extremely unlikable, unreasonable and petty.

Dave Chappelle: The Closer (2021 TV Special)
2/10
Sometimes funny, always racist.
10 October 2021
Dave is quite funny at times, his last joke about Daphne is a little odd, but I guess it's his way of showing respect to a fellow comedian. But, he is quite clearly racist. Like, he doesn't even remotely feel the need to hide it. He isn't alone though I guess, we're all supposed to believe racism only exists against black people, and it comes from white people. What a demonstrably obvious lie.

It's odd how he can't even see the irony of one of his main points of the show. That black people wish they had the success of the lgbt movement...well, trust me, Dave, white people wish they had the privilege and power they're always condemned as having. White people could only dream of holding any kind of systemic higher position as a result of their skin tone alone. You still believe your 'jokes' about white people are punching up...find me a single white person who could write a sketch as racist against black people as yours is against white people. A single one.

There is a very clear and obvious way to tell who holds the power in a society, it's those who you aren't allowed to criticise or offend. And white people, white straight men especially, are literally the only people you're not only not punished for insulting, but publicly celebrated for insulting. Yet they hold all the power and privilege apparently.

See the irony of your own jokes, Dave.

Free Solo (2018)

Is this a free solo film, or reasons to not get a girlfriend?
31 October 2020
The film itself is outstanding, and shows so much detail about Alex and his journey.

But good lord, it hammers home some fundamental reasons to avoid having a partner when you have goals 🤣 all she does is try to change him, try to subtlety force him to stop, try to muscle in on his way of life, try to replace his life long passion and aspirations with....her.

I don't know why they chose to make her such a big part of the film, it adds nothing to his climbing, just drags it down and makes you want her to leave him alone.
