The Serpent (2021)
Average at best, irritating at worst.
Despite all the glowing reviews I found this series lacking in several areas. The acting is the first noticeable issue. Nobody is going to win any awards from this cast albeit they struggle along and can generally carry the storyline. The second thing is the constant jumping back and forth in the timeline in each episode, very irritating and makes the story loose its depth. Finally the series is not authentic in portraying Thailand even back in the 70's. Many travellers will notice the inconsistencies as the series proceeds which adds to it generally losing its appeal as you grind through episode after episode hoping it will get better. It may prove interesting for purveyors of Netflix standard series, but for you aficionados of the series world, you will most probably end up disappointed.
Romulus (2020)
Disappointing.
I'm not sure what experience or taste a lot of the reviewers have in series but I fail to see why anyone could recommend this. It's a thin storyline which has not the luxury of falling back on quality acting to save it. A lot of talking and not much else, obviously the writers were trying to paint some sort of detailed character landscape, it sadly, fails quite miserably. Don't waste time on it.
4 Blocks (2017)
Binge Worthy Quality!
Possibly one of the best series of the past few years. Tight as a drum storyline, excellent acting and a plot that keeps you watching episode after episode. A little gem that has deservedly received the praise it has been given. If you are a fan of the Gomorrah, Seburra, Sopranos, Zero Zero Zero type thing ... look no further.

Britannia (2017)
Tedious and badly made
I'm not quite sure what they had in mind here when they decided to make this series. It's obvious they had hopes of jumping on the Game of Thrones, Vikings, Rome etc etc bandwagon however it failed miserably. At times it's actually so bad that it's becomes even amusing to see how a budget can be used so incorrectly. Just to clarify, it's a weak storyline with a cast of average actors and yes, it could have been somewhat saved if there was some effort from the special effects/costume dept but alas no. Nothing really to salvage here except maybe Kelly Reilly but do yourself a favour and don't waste time on it.
Penny Dreadful: City of Angels (2020)
How can a great idea go so wrong?
Once again the tv series Gods have ruined a perfectly good idea trying to wring a few extra dollars out of the unsuspecting public. Gone are all the elements that made this series exceptional and the result is a hotchpotch of vague and boring screenplay with a storyline that is weak at best. Do yourself a favour and stick with the original, remember how good it was and ignore this waste of time and energy.
Warrior Nun (2020)
The Trailer was the first mistake.
Yes once again I can put my hand in the air and admit that I actually watched this after I sat through the trailer wondering who paid good money for this rubbish. And yes my suspicions came true, absolutely dire on possibly every level. Do yourself a favour, learn from my mistake and avoid this one. You'll be happier!
