"The Last Fiction"
Is the first animated feature film written and directed by Ashkan Rahgozar, which was produced in Horakhsh Studio from 2007 to 2016. The story of this film is a free interpretation of the narration of "Zahak" in the Shahnameh by Hakim Abolqasem Ferdowsi (Legendary Persian Poet). The last story was the first representative of Iranian animation cinema in the list of 32 competing works in the category of the best animation of the Oscar Academy. Also, this work, along with 344 other eligible films was also entered into the competitive section of the best film of the 92nd Academy Awards. But in the end, this animation could not be included in the list of the five final candidates for the best animation of the year or the best film of Oscar 2020!
Story :
In the era when the shadow of "Ahriman" (Meaning Evil) has dominated the lands, "Jamshid Shah"(King Jamshid) with an army composed of his allies and relying on his Yazidi fur lined up in front of the army of Ahriman, at the will of "Yazdan" Jamshid Shah won over the Ahrimans. Jamshid is leaning on the imperial throne and proud of his victory, he considers himself to have the divine fur. He called his allies to occupy other lands and hunt the devil, but Yazdan turned his back on him and stole Farr and Frost and the crown of Jamshid from him. Alone, Jamshid gets caught up in an insatiable greed and insanity. He leaves his daughter "Shaherzad" alone and bequeaths to the Council of Ministers so that during his absence "Mardas" the ally and governor of the southern lands will lean on his throne. The next day, Jamshid Shah will leave for the northern lands with an army of his most zealous soldiers to hunt the devil and will never return.
The story of this animation is different from the original story, when the shadow of Angre, demons and devils were born, Jamshid defeated the demons with a large army and with the help of Farah Yazidi, then ordered them to make evil stronger, and alas, Jamshid became proud and arrogant and He left for the northern lands with an army, and because he had no son, he ordered Mardas, the governor of the southern lands, to take his throne, but Mardas died suddenly and his son Zahak became the ruler of Jamkerd. Shahrasab Dana gathered the people in the camp and gathered a large army, and Ah Faridun, with the help of Arshiya, saved the people from Zahhak's prison and attacked the city with the army. Zahhak, by the order of Angra, must turn his soldiers into demons.
Arshiya, who had sworn an oath to Ahriman, gave his blood to Ahriman, and Zahak's soldiers turned into demons and attacked Kaveh and Fereydoun, and Roozbe was killed, and demonic snakes came out of Zahak's shoulders, and Zahak had a lot of demonic power that could fight him. They didn't have until Shahrasab was able to destroy the demons and the demonic power of Zahak with the torch of holy fire and Yazidi torch and sacrificed his life. Even the snakes were chained until everyone forgot to turn away from the Lord.
