Fan was an entertaining and thrilling experience!
27 April 2016
I wasn't sure what to expect by watching Fan's trailer but I knew SRK would perform amazingly which he did not disappoint. It was so strange to see this particular double role because Gaurav looked very similar to SRK but not the same so it seemed like he was a different actor! I was in awe with his performance as Gaurav. SRK's role as Aryan Khanna was like watching the real SRK on screen but there were notable difference which proved he was playing a role and not completely himself. Gaurav's character was adorable yet frightening, you really did not know whether to love him or hate him! This was a very different Bollywoood movie even for SRK. Chak De India was the last film I watched prior to Fan where I saw SRK in a totally different light. This movie is definitely a treat for SRK fans but even if you are not his fan, the movie was a very entertaining experience. I think the movie has done very well at the box office world wide - and so I can't be bothered with box office critics who say the movie failed. They don't know what they are talking about.

Ra One was awesome movie!
7 November 2011
Warning: Spoilers
Ra One was a one of a kind innovation made out of Bollywood and is a must see on the big screen. The graphics/special effects were mind blowing and the concept/storyline was original and enjoyable. The direction was very good and balanced well between action sequences and family drama & comedy bollywood style! The songs were memorable and very enjoyable. The acting talent from SRK, Kareena, Verma, Arjun, Satish Shah, etc. Very good casting and very excellent well made film. The whole family can enjoy this one which is great! Hats off to Shah Rukh Khan once again for pulling off a true first of its kind superhero flick made out of India from Indian filmmakers. Also the 3D effects were awesome and being the first Hindi film to come out in 3D was just wonderful!

Billu (Barber) is an excellent watch!

I wasn't sure what to expect when I went to see this movie but I was so pleasantly surprised and pleased with it! Irfan Khan and Lara Dutta deserve nominations for best actor/actress for fine performances. The comedy was just right and the drama was just right. What can I say about Shah Rukh Khan? He is in the perfect role playing the superstar Sahir Khan. He is not just a special appearance in this film but is a main supporting actor so please watch this movie. You won't be disappointed. I also encourage all to please watch this movie on the big screen for the first watch because it makes a huge difference in how you will enjoy this film. When you watch in the theaters, you literally get taken away to another place and trust me, you will enjoy being there for that 2 + hours and wish you didn't have to come back to reality. This movie has a very sweet and sensational story that all ages can enjoy. The music is just superb and you will want to jump out of you seat and dance! Please watch this movie!

A movie made from Rab!
6 January 2009
I went to see RNBDJ because of Shah Rukh Khan first of all, but did not know what to expect since I made a point not to read any reviews or synopsis of the film. I only knew that the audience seemed to give good review but critics were not friendly with their reviews. I must say they have become to jaded upon watching numerous films that they missed the beauty of this film. I love Aditya Chopra for directing such a brave and bold film that comes straight from his heart! SRK portrayed Surih and Raj with sheer perfection. I loved him as both characters; they both made me smile and also drove me to tears! Anuksha did a brilliant job as her debut character and I couldn't believe this was only her first film. She was marvelous and fresh as Taani. The songs are just beautiful and they will either make you get up and dance or lay down and just cry tears of happiness. The climax was mesmerizing and surprising, the comedy was wonderful and the message was very important that we need to love our "jodi" for who they are and not who we wish they are. We are all made from God so we have to remember to see God in everybody! What a brilliant and different film Yash Raj Films made; I love you guys for this gift!

Good Film
12 May 2008
Children and Adults will enjoy this movie. Well acted by all and good special effects. Heartwarming and funny. It is an original script too, not a remake of any other film. Shah Rukh Khan is in a special appearance in this film and I admit he was the main reason why I had watch, and he was in the film throughout which was a nice surprise. Amitabh does a role different from before and does well. The newcomer boy who plays Banku is also very good and natural. Juhi is beautiful and very funny in this film as are the other supporting actors in the film. I would recommend anybody to see this move at least once. It was worth the wait.

Chak De Everybody!
13 August 2007
Chak De India was an awesome movie watching experience. Watch this on the big cinema screen if possible and you will enjoy it to the fullest. The cinematography was great especially the scenes of Australia. The acting was superb on both Shah Rukh Khan's part and the newcomers playing the women's hockey team. This movie can be enjoyed by any age group, any sex, any nationality. The emotions relayed in the film can be experienced by ANY body. India's national sport as well as India's women are commonly ignored but not anymore! Let's go for it and watch this wonderful movie and support its style of cinema making in Bollywood. It is much needed in our genre of films. Thank you to the Director, Cast, Crew, YRF, etc...

Deewana for SRK!
15 June 2007
Shah Rukh Khan's debut from Television Star to Movie Star was a great surprise! Rishi Kapoor and the late Divya Bharti did a wonderful job as did our hero SRK who is looking mighty hot, young and full of energy in this action/love story. It is fun to go back and watch the styles of the movies made in the 80's and early 90's. They can have cliché's and corny scenes sometimes but they are still fun to watch. This movie is about a jealous uncle played by Puri who comes between the love story of Kapoor and Bharti. Shah Rukh Khan enters the movie at the right time to save the day and the rest is action packed and enjoyable. Watch this movie if you are a fan of SRK or Bharti who did a fine job. The songs were good and the dance number of Aisi Deewangi is always a fun watch! Also just to set the record straight, Shah Rukh Khan did NOT crown himself as the Baadshah of Bollywood, that was a title he has earned which anyone can truly see why if you just watch the line of work he has done from Deewana to Don!

Wonderful Performance!
15 June 2007
I watched this movie recently so I realize the storytelling style is now outdated. But I immensely enjoyed watching this film. I wasn't expecting it to be great since I had never really heard anything about this movie previously but once I started to watch it I got very engaged in the story and characters. Shah Rukh Khan shows his brilliance and talent as an actor. His emotions really sink into you and you feel as if he is really going through what his character is. He does a very convincing job in this movie. The story is very endearing about an only son who is loved dearly by his polar opposite parents. His father is an atheist lawyer and his mother is a strongly religious person. SRK gets caught in the middle of these two who argue regularly on how to raise their son but he loves both parents and don't want to hurt either of them. The movie starts out very lighthearted and funny but then encounters a serious twist. This movie is worth watching especially if you love Shah Rukh, he won't disappoint you in this one!

Entertaining
11 May 2007
I enjoyed this movie along with the cast. It had the right amount of comedy, action and romance. It does contain the "old school" type of aspects to the story but I find it fun to watch now since they rarely make movies like this anymore and I grew up watching them! Shah Rukh and Raveena had good chemistry, the songs were pleasant and the action scenes were plenty. I recommend this movie especially if you are a SRK fan or a old fan of Jitu and Shotgun respectively. Anupam Kher is also very funny in this movie. This movie revolves around the 2 stars Shatrughan Sighna and Jitendra being rivals who were once like brothers. The story unfolds to tell us what went on between them. Shah Rukh and Raveena play the children of each of them who are made to fall in love with one another in order to patch up the differences. At least that is the goal that Anupam shoots for and whether he succeeds or fails is the big question! It is a fun watch. Well acted.

A Blast from the Past
8 January 2007
I was thrilled that SRK was going to me the star in this classic remake. Although I am a fan of the original, the Director did a wonderful job reworking the original to fit better in a modern action movie. The songs were great, the scenery was beautiful and the thrills were great. I hope they make a sequel now that Hindi movies are following that trend now! I agree with people who say you can't compare the two movies or the two actors. They are both great in their own way. The Khaike number just makes you smile and want to dance! It is great that this movie was made also so the younger generation would become familiar with this story if they haven't seen the original Don. If they were to go back and watch the original too, they may find it kind of boring!

Loved this Movie!
30 October 2006
Warning: Spoilers
If you enjoy watching Bollywood movies about relationships especially real life marital relations, I think this movie is worth watching. At any rate, Karan Johar had courage to make this film and made it intensely serious as well as adding good comedy at the right moments. The songs are enjoyable and the performances by all the main actors were superb. It takes courage to take on the topic of infidelity and Johar does so brilliantly. We can relate to the characters on some level. It was wonderful to see the father-son team of Amitabh and Abishek team up in their mostly comic scenes. Shah Rukh Khan does intensity very well. Even though many Bollywood movies love to play with the idea that the couple that starts out in a movie isn't the couple that will end up together at the end, most Bollywood movies give it a fairy tale type ending where everybody is happy with the end result. But KANK does good by showing that there are repercussions when following your heart, and it doesn't feel good when we break another person's heart. This movie really explores the emotions and dilemmas that are involved in extra-marital affairs which I think is important for people to explore. Keep making these great films Karan!

Swept Away (2002)

Review was good
8 September 2006
I am tired of people criticizing a movie only because Madonna is the lead player. I saw the original Swept Away and I think Madonna did an even better portrayal of this spoiled, rich b*Itch character. And as for Guy Ritchie, his version was fresh, different and had a much better ending to it. There was nothing wrong in Madonna's acting in this film and the movie was very entertaining to watch. I would recommend anyone who wants to see a funny, romantic film, go see this one. I was definitely "swept away" when I saw this movie and the special features on the DVD are very fun to watch. I hope these two do many more projects together.
