I'll be honest, I didn't like the first 3 or 4 episodes a lot. The pilot felt too fast, and the next ones kinda slow. I stopped watching it for a while, untill I decided to give it another chance. (I know, that it goes against a lot of things that were established in SPN, but there IS a reason for that) It gets a bit better with each each episode. Currently, I'm on episode 11 and action is happening.
It's not perfect: it takes a while to find Samuel, and then he's just gone. Some things are just TOO convenient and some things don't make a lot of sense, but I mean... Supernatural didn't make sense most of the time.
I feel that it's not fair to compare it to SPN. They're different shows, with different actors and a different story, produced by mostly different people, but it's not as bad as they say it is.
