Mosul (2019)
Brutal & tragic yet exciting war film.
This film is so well made in every aspect. It is a tribute to the bravery of the Iraqi people. If you enjoy war movies you will like this, it's gritty yet realistic and is refreshingly non-Hollywood. Always good to watch a war movie that isn't all about Americans.
Killing Them Softly (2012)
Great little artistic gangster film with a metaphor behind it.
If you're looking for a classic shoot em up crime film then this won't be for you. Has some great acting and I believe was one of James Gandolfini's last onscreen appearances. Definitely misunderstood by many reviews.
Fear City: New York vs the Mafia (2020)
Much better documentaries on this topic out there already.
Quite underwhelming, the story has been told many times and the documentary didn't really feature any new or lesser known angles of the era. Also towards the end of the documentary it turned into some strange Pro Giuliani propaganda as if he were some superhero against the mob. All in all, not terrible but not amazing. If you already know the story about the mafia being taken down, give it a miss.
