Naan Kadavul (2009)
It kept me shocked for days!
1 extra star for Arya's acting! Throughout the movie i was convinced i was watching an Aghori baba and not Arya.
I think he deserved a National Award for this movie.
Anyways, coming to the movie it's disturbing, shocking and at the same time it's a naked truth. A truth that we all choose to not look at because it disturbs our lives.
The climax is not something i had expected and it kept me horrified for days. This movie is the reason why i explored Hindu spirituality in more detail and the concepts of Aghoris...it's transformed my way of looking at life.
Kanchivaram (2008)
Two extra stars for Prakash Raj.
Prakash Raj's performance is mind blowing in this movie, especially that helpless laugh at the end of the movie. I remember watching it for the first time and crying my eyes out. To this day, thinking of that scene gives me goosebumps. The movie is made brilliantly and the screenplay explores such a sensitive topic of oppression in a beautiful manner.
Aa Karaala Ratri (2018)
Keeps you intrigued throughout the movie.
Brilliant movie with some amazing performances! Although, I dont know the names of the actors but all of them did a great job, the leading lady especially did a fantastic job in this movie!
I think the movie explores a simple yet powerful emotion that drives most people to do stuff that they later regret, the emotion being greed.
It's a one time watch movie but will leave a sting in you for sure.
Katyar Kaljat Ghusali (2015)
Sachin is brilliant!
Watch this movie for amazing music and the sheer brilliance of the craft of acting by Sachin Pilgaokar. He is simply marvelous in the movie! I have immense respect for his acting skills, sometimes i feel sad that such amazing actors don't find their place in Bollywood. Anyways, the movie is based on a musical rivalry between two great singers. The climax of the movie is superb and again Sachin's performance made me stand up in my seat and clap! I wish i had seen this in the cinemas!
Ano natsu, ichiban shizukana umi (1991)
One of my favourites!
Every scene in a Kitano movie is well thought through and has some value. It's truly artistic and with the beautiful music by Joe Hisashi it takes you to a different level.
One of my favourite Kitano movies! Simple story with a powerful cinematography!
My favourite scene is the bus scene!
