Tank Girl (1995)

Totally My Scene!
19 September 2010
I loved this movie as it revolves around the idea of a CyberPunk (Punk of the Future). They have so much colour, confidence, have guts and are so much fun! I couldn't believe this movie comes from the Australian Comic Book series "Tank Girl". WOW!!! I just love the future as real Cyberpunks, Cybergoths and Steam punks exist! They are usually seen in the Goth clubs and love industrial, EBM, IDM, experimental, drum 'n bass (although you don't get that in goth clubs though, same as IDM. Although, we wouldn't want to live in such a serious dystopia as this is the symbolism but it's great fun to get dressed and go listen and dance to some EBM!!! Really, they are like anime characters which have sprung out of a anime comic book! It makes life so colourful and interesting!

The Bounty Hunter (I) (2010)

So Much Fun!
19 September 2010
A comedy film would be no better if we didn't have witty Jennifer Aniston and Gerard Butler. It was just so amusing to watch an ex-married couple fight as it is so common these days! Most people do not have a successful love life after marriage. It just happens, and when they see each other again or see too much of each other, familiarity breeds contempt (they fight). I must say, it's so far fetched to be a bounty hunter who has to take his ex-wife to court! But it's realistic that you have to have thick skin to get through life e.g. - don't let people push you over, do not give a rat's ass about what people say, all you must do is get your job done. And , through the long run, you both reunite as friends and you both develop as characters e.g. - Fighting your own battles, being exposed to obstacles which you need to have thick skin and have respect for each other as both of you have to work like a team.

Don't want to be direct about what I'm saying as it will spoil the surprises in the movie! ;-)

I love these kinds of movies!
19 September 2010
I must say, these kinds of movies which revolve around archeology fascinate me. They are just so indirect and what makes this movie so cool is that it's a culture movie, it's not American; it's French! Egypt is such a fascinating place as they were beliefs about curses and consequences when one disturbs the dead! And now, what will happen when the dead are disturbed present day, how do they re-adapt to express their anger, destruction, hatred and vengeance? This film has really a wicked cover, it was well designed with the Belphegor looking over the louvre with all those hostile spirits spreading their terrifying energy around in the atmosphere! And that costume of the Belphegor is extravagant! I hope i see more movies like these soon!

This was scary! (psychologically speaking)
4 April 2010
Pinnochio's revenge came across to me as a competent movie when I saw it's theatrical trailer. And when I saw parts of it, it looked like a revival of Child's Play with a Pinnochio puppet. And when I saw the end, I couldn't believe what I just saw; it was so psychologically disturbing! I must say that every movie which has a doll in it has it's own twist which makes it interesting, suspenseful and entertaining. There were many unexpected parts in the movie which made this flick very impressive with some impressive shots which keep us in suspense and entertained. I recommend this movie to anyone who likes Child's Play and Dolly Dearest! =-)

God Almighty! That was Horrifying!
6 November 2009
Warning: Spoilers
Good Lord! God help those two who were kidnapped. When one's loved-one goes missing it's sure of a worry, that worry which will worry us until we go looking for them. We wonder, what happened to him/her, where did they go, who kidnapped him/her?! How can one trust sweet strangers (when in fact they are vile predators)?! This reminded ,me of a girl which my Dad knew named Roselind Ballingal who went missing in the summer of 1969! He walked into the Knysna Forest and never came back! What we saw in the movie happened to Roselind?!? No one knows but everyone presumes she is dead. But how did she die?

You know, you get sick people out there and they first come across as friendly and then they lead you to your grave. One thing to remember is, to not obsess! Obsession is extremely dangerous when it becomes like this. It's so disturbing, I've feared about being buried alive and one cannot tell who is the protagonist and who is the antagonist. It's very common in modern films. Jees! Thinking about this gives me the heebie-geebies. Let me remind you all, do not obsess!

How It Would Be Like To Be Plagued?!
6 November 2009
How would it be like to be plagued?!Terrifying, terrifying I tell you. Gypsies, I must say have always been a mystery to me (I don't know about others) and that is why people create these films about gypsy curses like Stephen King's Thinner for example. A fear might murk within us about making these mysterious people angry as they have been persecuted by society and thus might take their anger out of those of high power; just like what happened between Christine Brown and that sinister Gypsy grandmother who plagued her with a demon who would drag her to hell for not allowing the gypsy to keep her home.

I don't want to spoil the rest, but this movie was so intense; and there are very disturbing parts to watch which may offend sensitive viewers. Tell me, would you kill in order to survive or would you rather be dragged to hell. I'd rather be dragged to hell. Watch the movie and you'll understand.

Hectically Manipulative.
27 January 2009
A movie which is hectically manipulative with cinematography as indicated with the use of unsettling angles. There is a feeling of not being allowed to go (entrapment). It's about the remaining energy which has been trapped for so many years must be released and the grudge of the issue must come out in order for the problem to be solved. This is also a movie which revolves around history repeating itself and it must be faced; the horror has to be uncovered and the secrets of the past must be revealed. And this movie has an incredibly effective sound track with the use of manipulated synths and electronic instruments which give a haunting sensation! Hectically manipulative!

Creepy
6 January 2009
A movie with a feeling of being alone as indicated by the beautiful vegetation of Australia's desert region and feelings of being gone; being so far away from everyone and everywhere for anyone to hear your screams. Again, there is such beauty with scenes of sunsets and vegetation; but it is a perfect time for murder and mystery to begin and spoil the lot! In the beginning of this movie,it seems that one would not expect violence to come in between the characters, but soon; creepy sexual signs develop which can be fatal. Silence is common. And there is such an eerie feeling that someone is going to be trapped in the back of that shambolic 4 wheel-drive.

Incredible.
6 January 2009
A film with impressive cinematography and suspense which is built around the kingdom of Henry the 8th. There is a sensation of change which is about to happen. There are displays how England changed over the centuries and what rules ruled over the country at the time. And, vile consequences too if someone stepped out of line. The people, who were no different in behavior with the modern world also hated change; especially when Anne Bolyn decided to tell the King to divorce the Queen.

This film, overall, was very factual; although fictionalized; it was very suspenseful and sensational. Enjoy!

Not What I was Expecting.
27 December 2008
Many years ago, I checked this movie out on the internet, it looked like a lame doll slasher pic; and many years later, I checked the trailer out on YouTube! And I changed my mind about the film. At the time when I viewed the trailer, it looked quite fun and when I watched the movie in bits and pieces on Youtube, it was even better!

It was something better. It was very impressive when it comes to think whether one's soul and body has been turned into the life of a toy. And, I just love how this film fools around with one's head when it comes to one being so badly behaved and turns into a vile doll in the end. And another is one trying to steal from sweet, gentle people can pay a deadly price, which is possible! Fun and impressive!

The Mother Deserved to be in Hell!
27 December 2008
A shocking story about a foolish woman who was foolish enough to return to her perverted father and bible bashing mother, she put her children through hell, she too was sick in the head, she wanted to starve her children in the attic and lake off with another man.

It is true that there are people who are desperate for support and return to their cruel parents for it (if their parents are cruel). This is a lesson to us not to be desperate for support in order to survive and not disregard one's very own family as one will pay the cruel price! The novel, which this movie was based on shocked nearly a million readers worldwide and must've shocked a million viewers worldwide due to one wanting to start a new life and is desperate to!

Very Plausible and Feasible!
14 December 2008
This film is very plausible as it revolves around teenagers from families rich and average, how the average people see the rich one as money buying everything and the average ones disapprove of it; when in fact there are some rich families which don't think that way as seen in this film. This film is very feasible as it looks on behalf of one's personal development and how one focuses on how they suffered in a tragic process, the price we pay, focusing on life's lessons and every person and family has problems. It also shows how one deals with a problem in such a difficult situation and we see what happened then, and what has happened to us now. Watch the common plausible and feasible ways of life between the rich and average communities and people.

Beautiful!
14 December 2008
This was a cleverly produced, computer animated film! It had a brilliant concept which is suitable for all ages and be understood in many different ways from all ages. For children, it's fun and cuddly adventure and heroic action and for the mature level; it's deeply spiritual as it deals with one to never abuse one's power, never to stop believing in something, someone or oneself and everything happens for a reason.

This film, however, is so powerful as it deals with one's spirits light and dark, the greatest ways of addressing ones' problems, nothing is impossible, people envy one another when they cannot be like him or her; and then, are respected once that task has been fulfilled. This is definitely a must see!!!

Gosh! What a Laugh!
10 December 2008
This was a film which was so crude but so funny! It's super to have a change from animals to humans and it is very satirical about how folk in the southern areas of the states react to those of the northern states, and how persecuted one feels if they are just a little bit different from anyone. The animation was very impressive as it creates the environment of the where the characters live as indicated by the dodgy folk and dilapidated apartments of the USA. The film has a well composed, slick and catchy sound track which really gives this film a very arty and zooty name. And the highlight of this film was to show how many chances one gets in this precious life and how important the lessons are to us when we look back at them. If one sees this film in a DVD store, get it out and watch it! It's the satirical laugh!

Something for Art Movie fans
10 December 2008
This is a film suitable for art movie lovers as one has to watch this movie with an open mind; this film cannot be watched once, one as the viewer will be totally lost! The film had a stunning soundtrack with excellent choices of synths and melodies which create a slow but mysterious atmosphere which indicates to the viewer that it will take time for them to know what is going on. And there are suspenseful shots so well composed that it will make one jump out of their seat and will keep one in suspense. Together, with the choice of music and cinematography, this film creates a mysterious environment which has crime which can happen any time any place. And again, something for art movie fans.

Impressive, Fun and Fresh!
28 November 2007
I watched it today! It's a very fresh movie with a very fresh concept although it doesn't look on the DVD cover. Well, I realized one can never judge a book by it's cover.

I enjoyed the cinematography, it creates that disturbing relationship with some ventriloquists and their dummies! And the images of the victims were very original and fresh!!And WOW!! THAT MAKEUP!!It looked so sinister and very aesthetically pleasing; it made the dummies look spectacular and Mary Shaw too!And the music; not at all disappointing! For a 21st century doll movie, it was extremely impressive. And there is a lot of the unexpected, but I'm not going to spoil it! Watch as soon as possible. I warmly recommend this film to killer doll lovers!

Cubbyhouse (2001)

It's about time a film like this was made!
4 July 2007
When I was 13 years old, I brainstormed ideas on making a moving about an evil wendy house or play house when I caught sight of one standing in the cool shade in my friend's back yard. And one year later, the film was created. I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT! AND I NEVER KNEW ABOUT IT!! And it was only until this year, I caught sight of the film at a store which I was working at. And I bought it immediately. And more, the had a change of environment, it was set in Austalia. The production designer did a brilliant job with the sets. I DIGGED all those clusters of candles with their flames dancing around in the darkness of the backyard leading to the cubby house where the massacre took place! That was a BRILLIANT shot and with the father running to the wendy house in slow motion, WAS EVEN BETTER!

The sound designer also did a brilliant job with all those bizarre effects with the teenage son waking up after every nightmare he had. And the sharp sounds used for the raging, blood-thirsty vines sounded magnificent and the monstrous snarls of the serpent god which possessed the cubby house were FABOULOUS!

And I would like to congratulate the director for bringing a horror story about an evil wendy house to life. It had good scares, good laughs and it was a fun movie to watch. And your actors performed BRILLIANTLY!! IT WAS ABOUT TIME A FILM LIKE THIS WAS MADE. It was OUTSTANDING! I am so impressed with your work! CONGRATULATIONS! You must make more movies like this one.

Another Brilliant Film Based On Life's Evolution!
9 June 2007
After watching Koyaanisqatsi, I found another movie which related to it. It was called "Naqoyqatsi" which meant "Life At War".

This movie/documentary, shows 89 minutes of how we pick up violence , self-destruction, clonage and how modern technology has changed us , as humans over the years of the 20th century. Each and every pro and con is displayed! this movie will show you spectacular cinematography, magnificent sound effects and a brilliant theme for the movie which bell-like voices singing Naqoyqatsi.

Once you have watched Koyaanisqatsi, get out the NAQOYQATSI!! It's as brilliant as the first!!

Outstanding!
9 June 2007
This year, I caught sight of this movie's poster in the video store where I go get my movies. Right away, the title fascinated me. I never had seen a title of a movie called "Koyaanisqatsi" which means "Life Out Of Balance". I learn that word from watching "Children Of The Corn 2: The Final Sacrifice".

The deep bell-like voices which sang the word Koyaanisqatsi sounded so suspenseful as I watched the movie change from American Nature into American Urbanization. Each and every shot was well planned and so was the lighting, directing and types of apertures which were set. It sure did take ages to finish this MASTER PIECE. And then, it came out.

The next time you go to the video store, get KOYAANISQATSI!

We All Want To Try Something Different.
20 February 2007
Tim Burton's "The Nightmare Before Christmas" was an enjoyable, poetic and musical film. And it was more than what I expected, I just thought it was probably a Christmas that went upside down for no reason. When in fact, the creatures from Halloween Town decided to do Christmas instead of Halloween. And the results, were shocking! LOL! There were so many shocks and scares on such a jolly occasion.

The movie impressed me when I saw all the holiday occasions: Valentine's Day, Easter, Christmas and Halloween. This impressed me because, this was how Jack the Pumpkin King got to see what Christmas was about, behind that Christmas door, there was a blazing Jack O'Lantern for a sun in Halloween Town and "Lamp O' Lanterns" for lam-posts. And, a Boogey man who likes to Boogey in that glowing lair of his.

If you are studying animation, I suggest you watch "behind the scenes". It will be helpful if you are trying to create an animated film with plasticine models.

The Telebug Cartoons Were Blasts!
2 January 2007
Years ago, between the ages of 2 and 4, I saw these robot heroes on television after the cartoon series: "The Care Bears". The looks of those three buggers Chip, Samantha, Bug and Mic were incredible and I couldn't stop watching the cartoon series. I mean, THEY WERE MY BEST CARTOON EVER!! And still today, I am still obsessed with them. And this was the cartoon which inspired me to saw. MAN!! This cartoon has POWER!! And recently, I wondered what ever happened to the Telebugs. Well, they haven't gone! I recently checked out a website on the Telebugs and it was said, they would be soon coming back to television renamed "The GiggleBytes" which would be released by "Hi-Entertainment". I will still be waiting until whenever the cartoon series pops up again...

"Akira".
17 December 2006
I heard about this film when I was reading a book which I had brought recently which was called "Cinema Year By Year". And I was dying to see this motion picture, and I got my chance to watch it last night.I could not believe my eyes when I watched Akira. The graphics were incredible and, that was not all, the entire movie was hand drawn. It sounded too crazy to be true, but it was!So realistic and very precise! And I did not believe it had a 1988 film release. AMAZING!! And the music was so wicked, it suited the movie for sure. Those thud sounds created a still and unknown atmosphere of the future Tokyo alright.

If any of you out there are wanting to see it, you'd better. And you will be astonished, astounded and amazed.

Colourful.Creative And Stylish!
17 December 2006
When I watched this film this evening, I found it so hilarious, colorful, creative and very stylish. This is a very good film which tells you how colorful and creative gay people and Drag Queens are. And, of course, their wacky senses of humor and how cool they are to hang out with and such good friends you can make out of them. And, the usual which is revealed in gay movies, that stupid HOMOPHOBIA!! But in this movie, it makes fun of it. Homophobes are so small minded and so pathetic towards these gifted people. My god, this lets off to us how homophobes should grow up and leave the gay people alone! Anyways, this is one stylish movie. It is a true work of art!

It's More Than Violent, It's Macarbre!
17 December 2006
Ichi the Killer sounded like one of those cool, adventurous Japanese action films filled with violence galore. It seemed, however, the violence in this motion picture were more than what I expected. They were so macabre and so well done. And my God, Ichi the killer, was something else, he was more than a killer. The killing scenes in this film were so stomach churning, they would make you want to vomit. They looked so real!! And the music will get your heart pounding in a split second as you watch each scene in Ichi The Killer.

This film is very well recommended to those who are fans of macabre Japanese films. This one was da bomb!

"It's Just Too Dangerous!"
14 December 2006
Warning: Spoilers
Again, Ringu 2 much spookier to the American Makeover "The Ring 2" and again, the effects were much spookier . And the deaths were more disturbing. And the end was freakiest when that Kanae girl was seen standing behind Kawajiri when he was recovering in hospital. And when Yoichi's mother Reicha died when walking across the road and she got hit by a truck. And the blood of Reicha headed towards her beloved son calling his name. And when Kurashi went into the Institution to see Masami (a close friend of Tomoko's who was shocked by Tomoko's death), she walked past a t.v. and it showed Sadako coming out of the well and everyone in the Institution went berserk! Too disturbing to think about, eh?

This is definitely a must see!
