I love Shinkai's storytelling and the visuals he uses in his films, he has a very unique narrative. That's why Suzume was one of those movies that I was eagerly waiting to see. Of course, I think that the song and advertisements that were popular before the movie came, are also worth mentioning. I went online and watched it right away. I don't remember hating a movie this much in a very long time. I've read and watched every anime movie ever released, but Suzume; It was a movie that Shinkai made with his head "Whatever I do, let's add a few starry night sky drawings, a few handsome characters," and although the first half was very entertaining, I couldn't get into the movie at all when I watched it. It was so lame. From the beginning to the end, there is something lacking in the movie. We don't know why her mother died, the aunt-nephew fight scene, which is of great importance in terms of restoring family relations, where the big cat came from and how Souta is related to her grandfather, how and where Souta knew Suzume should have been handled much better and should not be under-explained. According to me. Things like these that need to be processed in a much more in-depth manner do not take 1-2 minutes if you collect them in the story. The only thing I liked was the music. It was a very airy movie for me, and I'm very sorry it did, because I had such high expectations for Suzume. :/
