Good, but could have been great
3 October 2023
When I saw the cast included Courtney B Vance and Keith David, I immediately decided to watch it thinking it's gotta be a great movie! It was a very good movie with excellent cinematography, excellent acting by a group of eclectic characters And the backdrop was one of my favorite cities, Chicago. The movie at first was a bit plodding, but came together as the characters developed. The only reason I didn't give it an 8 or 9 was in my opinion, the movie lacked a "spark." There were some portions where the characters faced some real danger, but I didn't feel it. Bravo to Courtney B Vance for undertaking this project and adding an excellent cast.

Das Boot It Ain't

Probably one of the worst movies of all time. Horrible actors, grotesque cinematography, unreal script.....the list goes on. The inaccuracies were mind boggling. A great example is when the submarine starts it's engines to move forward and surface, the close in shot of the propellers shows them turning in the opposite direction. I would have given it a minus 1 rating if I could. The two stars were given to the USS Drum (SS 238), the only star in this movie. She is a museum piece in Battleship Row in Mobile, Alabama and was one of the most decorated diesel-electric submarines of WW2. All interior submarine shots were filmed aboard.

Horrible

A complete and utter waste of time. Bad plot, bad acting and absolutely no plausibility. It's hard to watch, but you get sucked in because you want to see how they'll manage to tie it all up in the end, which cannot come soon enough, and then you get annoyed when they don't.
