No fool like an old fool
22 October 2020
Edward G Robinson goes down the slippery slope of sin. Three old friends share an evening of gentle warmth and a startling crime ensues. Raymond Massey plays a brilliant policeman and good friend. The film teaches a moral lesson of what can result from a single indescretion. Good viewing

Boy meets girl and kills for her
22 October 2020
Warning: Spoilers
A selfish foolish drifter, a stumbling cat loving copper, a brilliant crooked lawyer, and Lana Turner as eye candy adds up to a great yarn. A snapshot in time with the current love for money as pervading then as now. Sin is as attractive as in the Garden of Eden. The start is good, the middle is good but the end is enthralling. Don't miss this one.

Lust, Murder, Retribution
22 October 2020
Warning: Spoilers
They say that an actor was born for a role, and Edward G Robinson fits that description as the gnarled insurance assessor. He overflows with business grist. Wiser than Solomon, as tenacious as a bulldog, indomitable as Superman he steals every scene. The story is narrated by the main star as he progresses through small sins, to murder to confession. The darker side of human nature as juicy as the apple in the garden of Eden. Don't miss Double Indemnity.

Fast funny fabulous

Lively dialogue, great cast, zany story line adds up to brilliant entertainment Don't miss this gem from a time where there were no mindless car chases and startling special effects.but it was the actors and actresses who held us spellbound through each scene. The old gentleman whom Walter mistakes for the fiancee adds real depth as in most of these exceptionally good comedolies from the 40's

Musical Madness
16 October 2020
A huge murderous madman on the loose in 19th Century London. The lovely Linda Darnell is another drawcards in this slower moving tale of our not too distant past. A snapshot of early times and their villains and beauties. A great way to be entertained for a couple of hours.

From good to evil with no return

Dr Jekyll experiments with his dark side and the audience can't get enough. Frederick March is a wonderful brute of a villain. We would class him a schizophrenic now. Plenty of suspense, beautiful women and fast pace. . Don't miss it

Do yourself a favour and grab Harvey. Not only does it contain wonderful lines, rich characters it has the solution to life's challenges. You will fall head over heels for Ellwood P Dowd .

Wonderful Escape
15 October 2020
Seriously funny with perfect casting. So many rich characters. Mr Witherspoon, Teddy, The police officers, the police inspector, thevcab driver,Jonathon, Dr Einstein. All contribute to make one of the best black comedy of the classic era. Cary Grant at his comedic best. This movie is a treat from start to finish. From where we are placed in time we can watch the best of the best and Arsenic and Old Lace is pretty near the top

This is a dark movie with dismal beginning, middle and end. Plenty of tension Pointless loss of life The only message in conveys is life is better without some people in it!
