Lost Treasure of Jesse James (2020)
We all laughed! Just needs Harrison Ford. But still something for everyone here
Yeah it's got some stock classic story elements that scream of being inspired by 80s films and if you don't love action, mystery or coming-of-age kids movies well... The spin on Jesse James ,what ends up being the real treasure, a solid message on racism and classism, gravel road car chases, post Civil War horseback shootouts, bank robberies along with a novel twist on American lore left a little something for everyone in our family.
I want to grab my old leather jacket, dusty hat, trusty whip and go right some wrong deep inside some old Missouri cave. Its a cool feeling.
Don Friesen: Ask Your Mom (2012)
I just got the bill for my stiches.
You can either go to the gym or just keep watching this show. Either way you'll be sore the next day.
My kids love it. I love it. Grandma loves it ... the parts she can hear. My dog was kind of offended, but luckily I locked down his cyber bullying Yelp account.
Around our house we quote lines from this show on a regular basis, especially when bill collectors call.
Proves you don't have to be crude, lude and rude to be a master comedian.
***drops the mic***
The Lord of the Rings (1978)
My only complaint . . . Give me the rest of the story!!
It's Tolkien's masterpiece before big budget films had modern visual effects and these phenomenal artists pulled this off BY HAND PEOPLE!!
The techniques were groundbreaking and masterfully captured an epic tale which is still being retold today. Forget pixie dust . . . THIS what legends are made of.
Star Wars (1977)
The pinnacle of human creativity.
Every artist is limited to the tools and mediums of their time. Yet some can see beyond what has come before them. A select few of those creators are actually able to manifest their visions, but not without building new tool kits of creativity. This is not just art, but groundbreaking, earth shaking, world changing art that fuels the dreams of generations to come and lives beyond in legend.
Interstellar (2014)
Mind blowing! Bain stretching phenomenon!!
**** REQUIRED HUMAN VIEWING ****
Enter Stellar! I could watch it again and again and again and constantly catch new wonders . . . and in some dimension somewhere in between planets
. . . I think I have.
Heavy Metal (1981)
This movie goes to 11
A one way ticket in time and space to a trippy experience which will always be considered a classic. Whoever's brilliant idea it was to marry the art of this classic magazine set against the rock icons of the time . . . better have a plaque on their wall which reads "Thank you from every rebellious youth, coming of age pubescent punk, aspiring artist creative filmmaker and long haired rocker of the late 1900s".
Fire and Ice (1983)
Blows away most modern CGI films
The imagery created by these artists in 1983 are far more dynamic than the majority of CGI movies produced in the 2000s. The simple yet solid story frees you up to enjoy the craftsmanship involved in achieving this level of animation. As a kid this film fuelled my appreciation of fantasy and inspired me to study visual effects, write stories, create characters and build worlds which would later come to life in multiple types of media. Thank you for this classic piece of art.
For those who don't quite get it, go back and listen to " They paved paradise" by Joni Mitchell.
