Pretty darn funny.
11 March 2002
I wasn't sure what to expect, but it was pretty funny. The language was a little rougher than I was expecting, but the Canadian jokes were a riot and as a curling fan, it was definitely worth the price of admission. I really enjoyed seeing a different side of Leslie Nielson (instead of his standard slapstick routine) and thought he was great. The whole cast worked well together and carried out their roles well.

And don't worry if you're not a big curling fan... there's enough in the movie for you too. Plus, they managed to work in an explanation of the basic idea of the game (without slowing down the plot) for those of you who might not know the details. Nicely done, I thought.

Jake and the Kid (1995–1999)
A quality family show
14 July 2001
"Jake and the Kid" is a wonderful family show about the adventures of Ben Osborne, a young boy growing up in the small prairie town of Crocus, Saskatchewan during the middle of the 20th century. His best friend is Jake Trumper, the man who was hired to run Ben's mother's farm after the death of Ben's father. Jake's an all-around good guy, who loves a tall tale and has seen and done a lot of different things. The other characters that make up the town of Crocus are equally entertaining and bring this small prairie town to life. "Jake and the Kid" is a humorous, charming and heartwarming show.
