Midnight Mass (2021)
Beautiful, terrifying, and beautiful
I will start by saying I'm atheist.
I have watched this series several times, and I think I love it even more with every watch.
The acting is phenomenal, and the ominous instruments that weave throughout the narrative makes the story even more ominous.
Soliloquies are delivered perfectly and beautifully. By every character.
I could not have imagined a more creative and beautiful series, and I will continue to watch this series over and over!
Whether or not you're religious does not matter if you watch this series. There is so much beauty, and so much horror, and it comes together as perfection.
The Immaculate Room (2022)
Painfully boring, great acting
There isn't much to say. If you want to watch two people in a room for two hours, this movie is for you. I was hoping for some substance, but there's nothing there. The acting was wonderful, but unfortunately the movie was a dud. The last 15 minutes are the most "exciting" and even then, it wasn't that great.
This movie had a lot of potential to be something, but it fell short. Throughout the entire thing, I kept waiting for something exciting to happen, but was unfortunately let down.
In my opinion, it would be fairly easy to spend 50 days in a room like this, yet it seemed to be an unnecessarily struggle for these characters.
Great acting. Bad movie.
Don't Worry Darling (2022)
Original and thought provoking!
I gave this a 10/10 because I feel as though that those who gave it a poor rating are basing it off of the "bad" press that surrounded this movie.
I thought "Don't Worry Darling" was an amazing film, and every actor was phenomenal. I mean Harry Styles! Wow! The whole cast was brilliant, as well as the directing.
I went into this movie knowing it had some poor reviews, but I wanted to give it a try because I love Olivia Wilde. The story, at least to me, was so original and different from any movie I've seen in recent years. It takes you back to a simpler time, throws you into a society that seemingly seems so perfect and real. I did NOT see that twist at the end coming!
I won't give anything away. But for those who enjoy a good mystery and great acting-this movie is for you. I will absolutely watch this again, and I highly recommend it!
Luckiest Girl Alive (2022)
Incredible movie that addresses important topics
This was a wonderful movie. The acting was fantastic, from every single character. 'Luckiest Girl Alive' covers sensitive topics, and did so, so eloquently. It was heart wrenching, thought provoking, and very moving.
The "thriller" part of this movie had me wanting more, with every perfectly timed flashback. It truly is a movie that can resonate with millions of people who have experienced awful situations in which this movie portrayed.
Mila Kunis is a brilliant actress, and I feel she approached this film knowing how delicate and sensitive the topics were.
Chiara Aurélia was absolutely brilliant as young Ani. You felt her anguish; and I felt myself wanting to hug her and to tell her to just let it all out!
Well done. This movie is a must see.
The Ledge (2022)
Good story, bad writing
I feel like this movie could have been a 10/10. The set and story were both great, however the script was so obnoxious. That was the 1 thing that brought this movie down. Other than that, it was a decent movie that's worth the watch if you have nothing else to watch.
