Manipulated (2019)
Meh
It's low budget for sure. I only watched it because I watch anything Traci Lords is in. She's by far the best actress in the movie. Was fun seeing Judy Landers in a cameo again. She's aged well. The movie is a gag to watch if you accept that you're watching low budget, bad acting and that you're watching for the thrill of spying a few other has-beens who will bring a smile to your face and take you down memory lane. The story line was meh... But not too unbelievable... Watch it for the gag and take it for what it is.
Superstore (2015)
So very true to life!! And Such clever humour.
I've been super excited every time a new season comes out.
This show focuses on real life, every day, human beings. The concepts all come from what would be considered "water cooler gossip" and the writers expand on those ideas brilliantly.
Most shows out there present super high flyers doing incredible things, that generally aren't most people's definition of everyday work life. This show presents everyday Joe's, in a typical everyday work environment. If you're a regular human being, you'll absolutely love how you find yourself relating to these characters and their stories.
There's no ego, there's no showing off, there's no high faluting Wall Street dramatics, it's just REAL!!
So, if like me, you find yourself craving a fly-on-the-wall, real-down-to-earth, well written comedy, then this is it!
And as a people manager in the customer services sector, I can so relate to Amy and her daily struggles!! The show validates and explores so many of my own personal work challenges.
I look forward to each and every episode!
