A Naija Christmas (2021)
A very good christmas romcom
I really like this comedy, I fell for Segiola's voice in the first minutes. The songs are beautiful, the story is well paced, there are beautiful actresses and not unrealistic skinny girls in western romcoms. The guys are not romantic but they proved to be sincere. I laughed a lot at the church women scenes. The ending is cute. I wished there would be more about the youngest brother but it's fine. Any christmas comedy has the same tropes... This one does not differ BUT for me, it's a relatable one.
As someone said, I didn't see the two hours running.
Please Netflix, I Hope you will develop more diverse films and series like this one.
My first Nollywood film and I love it! It's fun, light and warm. I highly recommanded it.
This Is Pop: The Boyz II Men Effect (2021)
Best group ever
I am glad it started with Boyz II men, who are the best male group in the 90's. Their music and style are unique and we have forgotten that. They still sing, which is not the case for those cutties ans less talented boys bands. It is right to mention them. A BTS member has sung'End of the road", they keep inspiring nowadays artists.
Michigetda, Neottaeme! (2018)
Perfect short drama!
Good acting, good chemistry and beaufiful scenes. It's also very romantic, I love the apricot kiss scene! Very enjoyable, go for it!
Joseonroko Nokdujeon (2019)
Beautiful
The colors, the chemistry and the story are great, a very entertaining drama.
Uncorked (2020)
Beautiful
The story is sweet and filmed with subtleness, I loved this movie. If you want to see something different, go for it!
Bridgerton (2020)
Best historique romance ever!
Everything was Perfect: the costume, the music, the storyline. The dances scenes are also fabulous. At last, the cast is diverse and so good! Why do we need to exclude good actors because it's not "historically accurate"? Gosh, movies are fictions ! I am so mad that Hollywood chose white people playing leading roles in Asian-based stories. Is it proper? Think also of Elisabeth Taylor playing Cleopatra ( which is totally inaccurate, for sure...)
I do love the Bridgertons books by Julia Quinn and I love the changes made. The story of Marina, which is not in the book, echoes to the sad story of the wretched girl in Sense ans sensibility. But here, we do not hide the girl who loses her virtue, she is dignified. Siena, the opera singer is not the ever lost and miserable girl as we found in many historical romances, she is proud and choses her destiny. I do agree with the feminist view.
I personally love the duke, played by Regé Jean Page, his acting is really smart and subtle. I do hope he will be the next James Bond for he is able to show a new face of masculinity, with humour.
I also love Eloise, Violet Bridgerton and the Queen, they were brilliant!
I was not a great fan of Anthony and I'm afraid the season 2 will not be as good if he takes the lead... Anyway, I am looking forward watching it.
Thanks to Shondaland and Netflix for this great Christmas treat! I watch and rewatch the series with delight!
The Netflix Afterparty: Bridgerton (2021)
So Bad...
There are not many interesting questions and the host is more centered on himself that on the great actors in Bridgerton. A waste of time ! What have you done Netflix? Better go on YouTube for relevant interviews.
