Oban Star-Racers (2006)
They Best of Jetix
Theatrical-quality animation, beautiful design and fun, engaging characters make this a must-watch for anyone interested in this art form. The story, an unexceptionable coming-of-age adventure framed around a series of contests, is consistently enlightened by great dialog and well-rounded characters who grow and change. A myriad of small details--of dress, speech, professions, weather--make for an imagined science fiction world of great richness and charm. The violence is of the cartoon action type, with a fair amount of gunplay but no excessive gore. The animation, by a co-partnership of French and Japanese studios, is simply excellent. This show is too good to be compared with the normal run of United States cartoons.
This is a really great series with an engaging story line,a really good mix of 2d and 3d animation and fully developed characters that are neither all good or all bad but each has motivations that regulate how they act. The story takes place on a future earth where there have been many technological advances and contact with other intelligent species has been made. It focuses on a 15 year old girl, Eva, who goes to meet with her father after he missed her birthday. He turns out to be such a jerk and doesn't recognize her that she pretends to be Molly, a kid with a good skill at repairing racers. Her father, Don Wei, manages racing teams and is known as the best race manager on the planet. Before long, the president (of the world?), has recruited Don Wei to lead a team to race in an interplanetary competition on which the earth depends on winning. Molly stows away to the race planet to be with her father and to prove to him that she is something to be proud.

Supesharu purezento: Ami-chan no hatsukoi: Bishôjo senshi Sêrâ Mûn SuperS Gaiden (1995)
I love this short movie
This adorable short film was shown in theaters with the SuperS movie. The plot was based on a manga story in which super-genius Ami suddenly finds there's someone who can match her test scores, and becomes obsessed with finding his identity. But the idea of having a rival also thrills her, as she's never met anyone as smart as she is, so she spends the movie alternately acting in love, or frighteningly competitive with her unseen rival. When an evil spirit attacks her in her bed, she's sure it must be her academic rival, and fights it off alone! So much for all the haters who say she's weak! The animation in this movie is pretty nice, with a lot of attention to detail (even down to the hint of airbrushed purple tint in Ami's glasses), and the story is fun, though some might argue it clashes with the continuity of the anime. (I dispute that, however, as Urawa from the anime only matched her scores because he cheated, showing both his inferior intellect and dishonesty, thus I think she would have better morals than to seriously date someone like that even if he had stuck around!) Taiki+Ami shippers like me can use this movie to really strengthen our case that they should be together, because 1) Ami says she wants to date the Einstein type, 2) it shows Ami associates love with academic competition, and 3) she goes starry-eyed over that guy in the magazine who resembles Taiki! This is a great movie all around, for many reasons. I'm sure even those who aren't Ami's fans will learn to love her after seeing it!
An interesting and comic examination of Ami-chan's character. I felt that this film hit a real high about halfway through. Unfortunately, rather than spend time exploring Ami's reaction to the love letter, the end of the movie introduced a rather unnecessary monster which wasted a lot of time and was rather inappropriate in my opinion.
This was a great film, they're probably not gonna dub it into english huh? Well thats ok,becuz it was still good anyways. Aya hisakawa did a great perfomance of ami and the overrall performances was good, the opening was terrific, and the ending song was really upbeat and smooth! Try downloading this online or get the scripts off the internet. Because they probably will never dub this special! 10/10.
It was a sweet, intro for the most intelegent Sailor Soldier, Sailor Mercury. It consisted with a new "in croud", Merciurios. He, at the beganing wrote a love letter to Ami, which would be starltling (of course) and, now, Ami thiks he is a chibi-Einstien, and he is attractive (He ended up looking like Umino (Melvin)). This was a halarios (expesialy Minako's "It's no skin off my neck" scene (HOT!)) Well, I really like the Bishojo Senshi Sailor Moon Series, I personally think its the best anime ever!, But, this movie was nice, funny, but not as adventurios as Sailor Moon R- It was more like the "S" movie. I saw this @ Sailor Moon Univewrse, with real Player, and it was pretty good.
Well I don't know much about anything, but I sure liked this film. In short, it was creative, humorous, simple, and heartwarming. In other words, it was everything it set out to be.
The story is set around a girl's first love, (as the title suggests) and I certainly should warn you: expect nothing challenging or provocative in terms of the subject matter here. I mean, it is a children's cartoon. It's really just a simple story, but it's told well, and it holds your attention well.
In the end: it's short, it's funny, it's cute, it's simple, it's good.
Bishôjo senshi Sêrâ Mûn super S: Sêrâ 9 senshi shûketsu! Burakku dorîmu hôru no kiseki (1995)
I love this lovely movie
The dream imagery and music, as well the development of Sailormoon's character and her relationship with Chibimoon, are the strong points of this film.
The final theatrical Sailor Moon film based off the original anime, the movie was produced during the run of Sailor Moon SuperS which adapted the Dream arc of the manga. The movie with its emphasis on dreams and Pied Piper of Hamlin by way of Hansel and Gretel narrative falls well in line with the established tone and aesthetic that characterized the arc run at the time. Fan reaction is pretty divided on SuperS because of its focus on the equally divisive Chibi-Usa, but I personally don't mind the arc. Admittedly the biggest drag on SuperS is the fact it's burdened with following in the steps of S that adapted arguably the strongest most "stakey" arc with the Death Busters, and following that very strong and often dark arc with an arc based around circus iconography and dreams was always going to pale in comparison. While Chibi-Usa was very grating in Sailor Moon R and her inclusion as Sailor Chibi-Moon in Sailor Moon S was often used as a running gag in how "stupid" the show seemed to think Sailor Chibi-Moon was as a concept. Sailor Moon SuperS for all you can criticize about it at least tried to build Chibi-Usa as a character which I personally felt was more successful than not (though your mileage may vary). Sailor Moon SuperS: The Movie on the other hand not only feels like an abridged version of many of the elements seen in the SuperS arc of the anime, but it's also lacking in an emotional core like Sailor Moon S: The Movie managed to establish, and feels like there's too much in too little time.
Gekijô-ban - Bishôjo senshi Sêrâ Mûn S (1994)
I love this lovely movie
I liked this movie if only because I was finally introduced to one of the most popular anime of all time and one that revolutionized anime as a whole. This was a great start for me and even though it wasn't great, it was certainly good. I think my biggest problem is that there's this one scene where it shows a bunch of people being frozen and after being thawed they just walk around as if nothing happened! Later, people are saying they don't believe in supernatural stuff. What?! As I'm not a fan, it was cool to be introduced to these new elements so forgive me if I can some stuff from the show wrong.
I really do love the subplot with Luna. Luna's a cat who falls in love with a human but eventually she realizes he's better off with another woman. I admit that it does get clichéd with them talking about the power of friendship and stuff, but it's still fun. I probably find the most enjoyable parts to be when it shows the characters just partaking in a slice of life story. It's great that even a supernatural show tries hard to be real. It will take me awhile to get used to everyone's names. I think Luna has the best voice ever! I'm having mixed emotions about not giving this a 9, but it's certainly a nice introduction to a beloved anime. ***
Gekijô-ban - Bishôjo senshi Sêrâ Mûn R (1993)
I love this lovely movie
I love all of the Sailor Moon movies but this one is by far the best! I wish Sailor Moon was still on TV..... Anyway, this movie is emotional and the animation was excellent. I don't want to spoil it, but I will with a brief description O_o. If you haven't seen this movie, don't read the rest of this review. There's this evil being know as the Kiseanean Blossom that wants to suck all the energy out of every star and planet! She took control of this alien guy named Fiore who was Darien's childhood friend. They send this flower monster thingie to Earth where it sucked many people dry of their energy. Soon the Sailor Scouts defeat it (in like, fifteen minutes O_o!) Then Fiore appears and trashes them. When he's just about to kill Sailor Moon, Darien jumps in the way!! He just barely survived. You'd think Fiore would stop after he sees how close Serena and Darien are to each other, but NOOOOO! He takes Darien away with him, leaving Serena crying. It's up to the Sailor Scouts to save Darien, the Earth, and Fiore from Kiseanean Blossom. Hey! A little later on, (like 5 or 6 minutes later!)Fiore says to Darien "Now only I can give you flowers!" What a stupid yet funny thing to say! :D This movie easily deserves 10 stars. The American version, anyway, and yes the voices were weird, but I like the movie all the same. I REALLY LOVE THE "POWER OF LOVE" SONG AT THE END, IT'S SUCH A GREAT SONG!

The Legend of Korra (2012)
The Best of Nickelodeon
The legend of Korra in the first season I saw that Korra agreed to be the avatar, that's why Korra perfectly controlled Water, Earth and Fire and she only needed to control Air, she also had to face the egalitarians who harmed the Benders, in the second season he learned that he could enter the spirit world and could control the spirits and open portals, he also met the first avatar named Wan, who shows us how he became the first avatar, and the duties of maintaining balance in the world and protecting it, in the third season he was able to see that changes were made in the world because he saw some who are not masters of the Earth Kingdom, they could be Airbenders and he also searched the Earth Kingdom, the new Airbenders, Korra also became the first avatar to do Metalbending and Bolin was able to do Lavabending, that's why Korra was able to recover the Air Nation and in the fourth season it was seen or that the Earth Kingdom was in Kuvira's domain because she wanted to turn the kingdom into an empire and that's why Korra had to make more efforts to stop Kuvira, and Kuvira made a huge metal robot to conquer Republic City, because she was in a part of the Earth Kingdom. I prefer Kuvira's robot to Sozin's comet in the final battles and for the finale there was a wedding he had with Zhu Li and Varrick. The Legend of Korra is the best on Nickelodeon and much better than The Last Airbender.
One of the endless debates when it comes to the universe of Avatar is whether Aang or Korra is better. I can't even decide for myself, but one thing I can definitely say is that this sequel series is nothing short of extraordinary, just like it predecessor was. This show is basically the exact same Avatar world but much later in the future, and a bit more "modern." Think of it as America as it was in the 1920s, for the city where most of the show revolves around is basically described as "Brooklyn meets Shanghai." However, while "Avatar: The Last Airbender" was considered kid-friendly enough to get a TV-Y7 rating despite having some touchy content here and there, this show receiving the exact same rating is rather shocking considering this show is much darker and more violent! Bit it also closes a lot of "story gaps" the first show left, mainly revolving around the Avatar's origins. For example, in season 2, there's a two-part episode where we "go back in time" to see how the very first Avatar came to be and what really goes on during the Avatar State and why the 4 elements have to be learned in a certain order. We also learn about what Aang and Zuko and the rest of the gang accomplished after the first show ended (but there's also more details that are revealed in graphic novels). The show also has a huge variety of famous actors such as Janet Varney, J. K. Simmons, Lisa Edelstein, Mindy Sterling, Eva Marie Saint as a recurring guest star, Zelda Williams, James Remar, Steve Blum, April Stewart, and so much more, as well as returning actors from the first show Grey DeLisle-Griffin and Dante Basco. But just like how the predecessor show dealt with some serious real-world issues, this show is no exception, though the list is different and more mature: anarchism, PTSD, struggling to regain your self-confidence, self-doubt, teenage "love triangle" effects, political corruption, criminal underworlds, propaganda, police brutality, abuse of power, abusive parenting, dealing with an estranged family member, and letting go of past haunts. But there's also a lot of positive stuff too! The music is just as outstanding as the original was, for the original composer, Jeremy Zuckerman, returned to work on the show. Long story short, while this show is mostly opinionated for every Avatar fan, in my opinion it's DEFINITELY WORTH WATCHING!!! Just be prepared for far more darker and mature themes than the original.
Happy 10th Aniversary
I'm your fan on 100%.

Transformers: Cybertron (2005)
The Best of the Transformers
After two shaky series, Transformers Armada and Energon, Hasbro as now given us Transformers Cybertron. Though far from perfect, this show is a lot better than its two predecessors. It seems to incorporate some of the best elements of past Transformers fiction.
A sprawling, multi-arced, space epic from the comics
A good balance of some lighthearted elements with more heavy duty sci/fi from the original cartoon
Exceptional voice acting, scripting and a sense of fun from Beast wars
The overall plot is nicely summed up via the show's opening sequence. "Our worlds are in Danger. To save them and the galaxy, we(the autobots) must find the 4 cyber planet keys, before the decepticons can use them for evil.".
The overall plot does not feel stretched or padded for the most part. Some episodes near the middle of the series do tend to get repetitive(especially the part on Velocitron) but thanks to some entertaining scripting and multiple story threads being addressed within a single episode, they are still watchable without feeling like useless fillers. Things might start off a little slow at first, but unlike Transformers Armada, the pace picks up after only 6 episodes following its debut(which throws you thick into the action with the Autobots already in the process of evacuating their home planet).
The first act incorporates many easy-to-relate to themes, especially involving the three human protagonists. A number of episodes convey moral teachings about the importance of rules, responsibility and honesty among many others without sounding too preachy. The style for this act may come across as a little juvenile, along the lines of Digimon(which is not surprising as the director also directed a number of digimon series) with rather tame action scenes(compared to Armada and Beast Wars) and lots of time dedicated to the kids' hi-jinks instead of on the Transformers themselves.
Then comes the second act. Once the setting moves into space and across the galaxy, the story likewise soars to new heights. The writing and script changes into something better that even older teenagers can relate to, throwing in some darker aspects and more thought provoking underlying themes.
The core achievement of Transformers Cybertron, is that throughout the show's evolution into a darker storyline, it never loses its sense of fun, just like the original cartoon in the 80s. Scripts are peppered with in-jokes and homage references to past series that would please any long time fan of the franchise. The high spirited and entertaining script is help along by some of the best voice acting in Transformers since Beast Machines. Very strong performances are turned, giving each character a distinct voice and personality. Some might have found the accents distracting but i personally loved them as they added variety. Accents are, afterall, not a new thing in Transformers with a number of characters from the original cartoon did sport a variety of different accents and speech patterns.
Not everything is sunflowers and rainbows however. This series does suffer from an over usage of stock footage in the Transformations(which seem a lot longer than previous series, with some single transformations lasting a whole half a minute.) and the battle scenes. Thankfully, in the English version, dialogue is written into the otherwise repetitive and boring stock sequences. These inserted lines range from planning battle strategy, to highly comedic in-jokes. Sometimes characters even break the fourth wall by asking each other why they have to undergo the same transformation animation all the time.
Just like Energon, this series uses a mixture of 2D and 3D animation. The 2D animation does not seem as polished as in Energon, with many of the human characters and 2D artwork looking flat with only basic color filling and minimal detail. Movements are jerky at times, even for a TV series standard of animation. The 3D elements, which involve mostly the robots, are a huge step up from Energon and Beast Wars. However, they are only slightly on par with Beast Machines which was produced 5 years prior to this show. Movements are smoother but there are still scenes where the 3D models "snap" from pose to pose like photographs in a slide show instead of actually move. The style metallic shading as opposed to the previous cel-shading causes the highly detailed 3D elements to jarringly clash with the simple 2D art. Such jarring differences in the animation are especially apparent when the 2D characters have to physically interact with the 3D ones.
I must say that Transformers Cybertron is the best among the post-2000 co-produced Transformers series. Sub-par animation and repetitiveness is saved by its marvelous scripts, story and voice acting. Do not let the bad reputation of the other series prevent you from watching this. Sure it might not be on par with the original, or Beast Wars, but it definitely worth checking out, and a good show for which to introduce newcomers to the Transformers Franchise.
A.T.O.M.: Alpha Teens on Machines (2005)
The worst cartoon of Jetix
What I've seen on television for the first time, that they've built a good team and saved the city of Landmark, and that they were hired by a boss, who asks them to work for him, and they've saved the city many times, but in its second season I have seen that they have been deceived by their boss who used them to do experiments, and also the second season has a very mediocre filler and too many fourth wall jokes and finally the ending was disappointing and mediocre. That's why I say, it's better, the friend who hurts than the enemy who kisses. So I do not recommend this series for the family. It's one of the worst of Jetix.
The second season with quite stupid scenes, it is not that talented either, that's why in the episode of the snake's tail they lost everything: their house, their cars and the team of the tail of the serpent was not defeated because they destroyed the home of Axel and his team. Also in the second season Axel and his team accept the stupid jokes and humor of Hawk's clumsiness. That's why I rate it as one of the worst in Jetix.
Ranma ½: Chûgoku Nekonron daikessen! Okite yaburi no gekitô hen (1991)
This is the worst movie I've ever seen
Who can forget that opening scene... I know I can't, Ten whole minutes of nothing happening, and in an inexplicable moment, the aura of an elephant fills joins the chase and beats everyone up. Unfortunately we don't get to see her actually preform this type of manuver again, and on a whole, she does nothing else; besides settle 1 fight by flirting.
Then on, there are more overly drawn out scenes and futile attempts at humor. For instance, Akane serves her 'home cooking' to the prince, who has only eaten pickles and rice since birth because of a condition that only allows his metabolism to handle pickels and rice. (Naturally, the pickels end up getting dumped out). The thing is, this scene is only 'referenced' to, but has no part of the overall story, and end run, really isn't that funny.
In the end, Ranma only faces two (I believe) of the seven opponents... the rest beat him up and are distracted or knocked out by the others. Heck, I thought Ranma was this egotistical fool who wouldn't accept defeat... sure looked like he was defeated a lot.
Heck, the 'final' boss was easier on Ranma then the other seven, having an impenitrable "chopstick" defense, Ranma brings forth a gyser and broke through by hurtling globlets of water at him.
I don't want be a pacifist with these silly characters: Ranma, Akane, Genma, Soun, Nabiki, Kasumi, Kodachi, Kuno, Shampoo, Mousse, Ukyo, Ryoga, Sasuke, Cologne and Hapossai because I want to be rot in the darkness and loneliness.
I figure since no one's written on this yet, let me be the first. And this is from a fan, not a film critic, so hey. Well, it's Ranma, and for those of you who love Ranma, you must think this movie's like the toast of the town whatever phrases y'all use]. But, looking at it objectively, it's a horrid story. I am of the unfortunate few who don't understand Japanese and have to wait for english dubbed releases of movies, but when you get right down to it, this movie wasn't a great piece of writing. The beginning opens with I think just about every Ranma TV-show character ever made, but then they all vanish so you can get to the real story, which is your standard, "Girl gets kidnapped, it's up to Guy/Girl to rescue her!" It contains a few choice moments (prince Kirin eating meat!) but I hate this STUPIDEST movie.
Kaleido Star: Legend of Phoenix (2005)
I don't like this sad OVA
In addition, my family has told me that the circus is perverse and mediocre, this anime also has a very exaggerated padding. That's why I don't recommend this OVA. I don't want to be an artist and I don't want to work in a circus because all those artists don't want me to return to my family and be in my country, so it's not suitable for the family. Also I don't need to be so pacifist with those artists and I don't want to have friends who are such grumpy artists, and I don't want to stay with those circus jobs that don't suit me. Also I prefer I have never wanted to have friends as artists and I will never be so perfect for the circus, and then you will regret being in the circus. I don't adore Kaleido Star.
