wow

Wow, I just watched this movie for the first time and actually never heard of it before yesterday. I was amazed by this incredible work of art. I have seen Vincent Karthiser before in Another Day In Paradise, and was impressed with that performance, but this one is in another dimension. This is a beautiful but very sad movie, a hard thing to accomplish with this depth of emotion. All the lead actors are at the top of their game, and the last 10 minutes of the film are an emotional roller-coaster. I can't recommend this any more highly, I gave it 10 stars. I knew almost nothing about the story before I watched it, and within the first minute I was hooked. All I can say is, wow what a fantastic way to spend an hour and a half.

Very moving and disturbing film
6 November 2006
I have seen this film twice and was very moved by the heartfelt performance of Joseph Gordon-Levitt as the troubled teen. Everyone in the film is at their best, and the director seems to have a clear vision of what he wants the viewer to see and feel. In the beginning, he takes us through the start of the kids problems, using young actors with a remarkable likeness to their older counterparts. He then slowly shows the results these experiences have had on the kids as teenagers. The film is not easy nor pleasant to watch, but is never boring. I can't give away any plot details and spoil the film, but I will say it is a very strong NC17, unrated, and if you are not moved by the final ten minutes, you will never be affected by anything.
