Counting Bullets (2021)
real gritty western
Of the twelve westerns so far, this is the one my kids want to watch over and over. John Marrs and Shannon Williams really shine in this film. They are both excellent actors and a joy to watch work. Filmed under duress during Covid-19 lockdown, what Travis Mills and crew accomplished last year was nothing short of amazing. Filmed in the Dragoon mountain range in Arizona, the scenery is beautiful and authentic to the story, will watch again!
She Was the Deputy's Wife (2021)
A very proper western, entertaining and suspenseful
This is one of those movies that you have to watch a second time, in order to catch all the little things you missed the first time. The story is just that well written. Seriously one of the best films i have seen in a while. A western with a plot, a dark sense of humor...i thought i was going to watch a romance, and it is, but it really isnt at all. Its just good movie making.
The Deadbeats (2019)
I love this movie!!!
Punk rock pulp fiction? This is a cult classic style movie that reminds me of the good old days of movie watching. It is just plain fun. Not trying to sell you anything or change the way you think, just pure wonderful entertainment. Thank you for this one Travis Mills, loved it.
Texas Red (2021)
Cedric Burnside!!
Let me repeat, CEDRIC BURNSIDE! I enjoyed working on this film tremendously. I was surrounded by excellent actors, crew, horsemen.... somehow Travis Mills attracts magic. Texas Red is based on true events in the winter of 1940, Franklin county Mississippi. Another part of the 12 Westerns in 12 Months project, this film is a testament to what a motivated director and talented actors can do with a shoestring budget and less than 30 days of filming. I am very proud of this film...my fellow actors, and the film community that came together to make it all happen!
Bastard's Crossing (2021)
Enjoyed this film!
Filmed in the Mississippi mud in the middle of a February monsoon, this movie is both gritty and engaging. A parade of actors, stagecoaches....horses, mules..rain, and one mans descent into madness. Watch this!
