A film about a paranoid character, without much sense. The script is the most boring. Despite the defects, Bale's interpretation is masterful, and therefore 2/10. The direction is good and photography is also good. Typical film for the taste of "intellectuals", almost as bad as "The Virgin Spring" by Ingmar Bergman. Do not watch if you are not a professional in the field of mental illness.

Excellent film in the strictly documentary part, that is, in the past, where facts and characters are real, except, of course, in films or fiction books mentioned there. For all 12 chapters of the series, I give these excerpts a score of 10. In terms of the future, starting in 2033, when we entered the field of science fiction, although there is a reasonably good plot, there are some aspects that are excessively forced and improbable, if not impossible to happen in real world. My grade is 8/10

It is a movie that is difficult to understand in its first presentation. It is very necessary to review it in order to understand. It criticizes capitalism and exposes the ills of consumer society with a Marxist view, and portrays and describes the narrator's schizophrenia through multiple projections of his own person. The film is cult, but long and boring, and in my view, super-overated. grade 2/10

A leftist crap with lies, titled as a documentary. Petra Costa is a "Aristocratic Leftist" His Grandfather from Brazilian company Andrade Gutierrez, is one of the most classified corruptors of Lula, Brazilian ministers, deputies, senators and regional governors. Petra studied in Paris, were her mother lived for a while, and housed Lula's daughter as stepsister. Lula was elected president in 2002 by very small margin. His opponent was Aécio Neves, a relative to Petra. Due the Help of José Alencar Gomes da Silva, his vice-president, an honest and well succeeded entrepreneur from the textile industry, get with his, presence the votes from investors and businessmen. Personally, I was well befriended to Alencar. Unfortunately, he died 2011 in consequence of a very aggressive cancer. Undoubtedly, Lula was intelligent and charismatic, (I also had some contact with him), and despite his humble origin and his leadership in the automobile syndicate, he was not an extreme leftist, and certainly not communist like the most members of his crew. He was a man for agreements, but unfortunately, ambitious and dishonest. A corruptor surrounded by former governments, which includes Dilma Roussef, involved with bank robbery and allegedly in the kidnapping of the America ambassador Charles Elbrick in 1969. The "Documentary" is a distortion of reality. Many scenes are edited. At the first 6 minutes you see a cell, were all guns of the shoot terrorists where removed from the photos. There are others. It is a propaganda movie, and a self-promotion of the producer Petra Costa. She gets official resources from the PT government to help her for this crap. I don't want to expose all. I Think it was a distortion and probably a politic maneuver to win an Oscar nomination. It's a pity. On the other hand: Marielle was a Brazilian political regional councilor, involved with drug dealers and killed by them. It was NOT a political murder. Meanwhile her ex-girlfriend has a new lover. My note is 1/10

I can't understand how two great actors, such as Robert DeNiro, capable of super performances like Taxi Driver, and also Danny DeVito in high rated movies who demonstrate his qualities, may subject themselves to acting in this crap. Are they in financial difficulties? Don't watch this trash, because although there are some phrases among the bad words, it is not funny. I give 3 for the protagonists only.

Good special effects, Sigourney Weawer is a good actress, James Cameron of Titanic and Avatar, is a very strong reference, but far away from Ridley Scott in the genre. But the movie ... The original Alien of 1979, is one of the best sci-fi of all time in creativity and quality, and in my view, the best in the sci-fi horror genre. This one here copies everything and does not add anything new. Army troops are overly standardized and unrealistic. The characters seem to be drawn from classic post WWII movies with no knowledges to be involved in a high tech environment . Although we have some good characters like our synthetic man Bishop, but Burke is weak in all respect and without much logic. I can not understand the ranking among the top 100 films of all time. Although with high quality special effects, I do not understand the high rating of 8.4. At the end of the film the fight with the door open to the vacuum, is too unreal and forced. 7/10

Italian movie, with all the lyricism and family life/conflicts, some comedy, typically for this culture. Sicilia is a nice place and the movie let you enjoy the landscapes. The characters are well developed. Alfredo is first class, the priest and the owner of the Piazza also. The plot, beside the originality, is not specially good and develops very slow. Sadness is always present. But... The timing is awful. No reason for such a long movie. They are no stuff to maintain your attention during 3 hours. It could be much better if a Director Cut put it to 100 minutes, no more. Its boring. The advises from Alfredo are unrealistic and the broken contact between the lovers hard to understand. I rate it with 6 points.

Horrible! It's an adult noir porno movie with a cocaine fest. This awful presentation uses, beside other stuff, some music and characters of Johann Strauss's "Fledermaus" and has nothing to do with the original, which is a well humored and yes, subtle malicious, but funny and fine operetta. Fortunately JS can't see nor hear this trash; otherwise he surely would turn twice in his grave.

The producers courageously presented this Hans Neunfels adaption garbage at the Salzburger Festspiele 2001. It's aggressive and offensive in most sequences. Despite some incomprehensible applause, we can clearly hear the BUUU's coming from the "Publikum" during the play; so that we can hope that they still are some tasteful people beyond it.

The yelling Orlowsky/ David Moss is disgusting. Rosalinde/ Mireille Delunsch and Adele/ Malin Hartelius are acceptable, but this is not enough to earn a better rating then 1/10.

Don't buy this junk. It's worse than my English! Try to see the operetta in some classical version, maybe life in the "Wiener Volksoper" or in the 1986 Carlos Kleiber/ Deutsche Grammophon DVD, and you would be delighted with it.

High quality biography! A fantastic, historical, well researched super production. Castellani did a very good job on biography and cinematographic art. The casting is excellent and Ronald Pickup is perfect as Verdi. The musical selection is also superior, and the performance of the interpreters are first class. Very good and famous voices are singing its preferred parts. The operatic performances are well cut. A rich scenario and also a nice review of the theatrical background technology at Verdi's time could be seen on the sunrise in "I Lombardi", the waves and the storms in "Otello", and in waterfalls. They are superb. For Verdi lovers it's a must, but also for non initiates it will be delightful. May be Giuseppina is a little to subservient and a bit away from a real woman. Also the final scenes are a little to long. By the way, the name of the opera is Rigoletto and not Rigaletto.

This is garbage. It's a horrible science fiction without any consistence, nor meaning or explanation at all. Beside "Undertow", this was one of the two worst movies I saw last year. I couldn't understand why this movie gets an IMDb classification that puts it between the 250 best movies of all times. What is happening to the public to rate it so high? I think it's good to go to the movies for fun and entertaining, and I wonder that so many people enjoy this gratuitous violence. I rated it 1/10 despite the good performance of the actors, because it's really awful. Don't waste your time or money watching this piece of trash.

Awful!

Despite the good performance of Ed Harris, Diane Kruger, and the strong budget (the reason for the 2 stars), the movie is by far the worst I saw about a composer, and the worst edition of a masterpiece of music. I agree with some fictional stuff to upgrade a biography, that otherwise couldn't be so "charming". This was done in AMADEUS with best results, but this B copy here is a flaw. Beethoven had a strong personality, but was a sensible artist. Here in this movie however, he looks much more as Mike Tyson! I wonder also, whether despite his deafness, he heard all the whisperings in the last scenes (may be a cochlear implant?). I prefer to listen to the ninth on a CD with some nice maestro. Today most of them conduct modern Wagnerian orchestras. By the way: I gave Amadeus 10/10!
