So much better than you'd think
8 May 2011
So much better than you think Although arguably this story has been seen before, Water for Elephants is so much more than a love story. The film does not rely on this, it is intertwined with so many other issues, it truly is moving.

Brilliant acted, Robert Pattinson's performance is incredibly understated. I think it's a true shame he is followed by the Twilight fame because his acting choices are bold and original.

Reese Witherspoon proving herself to be truly adaptable to any role she plays shines in this also.

As well as Christopher Waltz being terrifyingly believable as the ring master of the circus.

The film is rich in story, beautifully filmed with stunning costumes and vivid colours.

It's been a while since I've been truly moved by a film and would highly recommend this.

Gets better
7 August 2009
Honestly when I first saw this movie I was disappointed.

I am a huge Cameron Crowe fan but left the cinema feeling dis-hearted and disappointed, like i was promised a fun romantic comedy and what I got was nothing like the trailer portrayed however...

I have since watched this film a couple of times (it was on TV!) and it wasn't until the 3rd time that I got it...

I think maybe it was more to do with understanding however I feel the more you watch the film the better it gets.

I think the cast is strong, Orlando and Kirsten have good chemistry and the music is awesome. Its definitely a grower, not one of Camerons best but I don't think people should rule this film out.

i did like it...i think
16 August 2004
I tried to watch this film a year or two ago but never got into it. I noticed it at a friends house and having seen 'Lost in Translation' I was interested in seeing this piece which previoulsy I had not realised that it had been directed by Sofia. I did like it and I would agree having flicked through a few other comments on this film it does possess a very dreamy, hazy and soft feeling. I believe the music and cinematography adds to this. I like Sofia's style, it seems unique and different to so many films around these days. It's not a film that will have you sitting on the edge of your chair nor will it bore you or depress you. The only thing that I personally didn't really get was the fact that in some ways I watched the film and almost felt empty because I didnt understand the true reasons why these girls lives ended. Perhaps thats not important in the story of this film, its just my personal view. But I guess with a film like this its best not to read into it too much. Take the information that is given to you and leave it at that. It is a unique film with a strong director.

Dawson's Creek (1998–2003)
Brilliant
22 April 2002
I have to say if your looking for a great television show look no further then Dawson's Creek. I've been an avid fan since the start of the show and i take comfort in its pure escapism. As someone of a similar age as the characters portrayed in the show i am totally hooked, its all about growing up the pressures the pain and the fun. A great show to watch... plus Joshua Jacksons gorgeous so what can be bad about it? Answer- Nothing! Ticky103@hotmail.com

Worth a watch
21 April 2002
I have to disagree with the comment left entitled 'is this a joke'. o.k so the film may not be a big Hollywood blockbuster but if your looking for a sweet romantic comedy then look no further. Its nice to see that Keanu Reeves has many sides to him, he's not just a action hero and you'll be surprised by his performance in this. Both lead actors are great in it. If you have time and just want to chill out Sweet Novembers worth a watch!

Moulin Rouge! (2001)
wow!
24 October 2001
i saw the film last night and couldn't believe my eyes! i had a rough idea of wot to expect having seen the spectacular 'Romeo and Juliet' but i never expected it to be this good. it was visually amazing- Baz lurman is a genius. The whole story was good but the way the whole film was put together was amazing. Nicole and Ewan are great together, good chemistry, great acting talents and wonderful singing voices. a fantastic film once again from the great Baz Lurman. if you love drama, musicals and great films you'll not want to miss this! 10/10

Jem (1985–1988)
classic
13 September 2001
Jem is such a classic and always will be! Although it is a children's cartoon there is something in this show for everyone, brilliant 80s music and classic story lines really are worth a watch.

If you ever get the chance to see it you won't regret it! It's a shame you can't get the videos any more (well you can't in England!) as they are brilliant! *****
