Delirium (II) (2018)

Terrible student movie hoping for views from other Delirium (2018)
21 September 2018
Absolutely terrible movie that appears to potentially be a student film based on the acting, writing, sound mixing, cinematography, direction, etc.. Seems to be hoping to get viewers who intended to watch the other Delirium (2018) with Topher Grace. Too often throughout this movie everyone is just yelling loudly into their mics or talking over each other. Lots of loud, high-pitched screeching in the ears. Really, really poor acting, the type that pulls you out of the movie because it screams 'I'm trying to act!' (Note: not everyone was a bad actor, there were a couple shining stars who weren't on camera for long). Extremely basic cinematography, for instance it's supposed to be a found footage film, but they end up filming the camera holder often. The entire concept of the piece from a writing perspective had tons of issues throughout the entirety of the work, not very thoroughly conceived. Unless you specifically like to watch very bad scary movie attempts that you already know are going to be terrible & pointless going into it I would recommend a pass.

What motivates anyone to make a movie like this?
4 July 2017
What kept running through my mind as I watched this movie was "what motivates someone, anyone, to make a movie like this?" I'm not speaking about the genre or subject of the movie, but rather a very legitimate question of what is the driving force to make a movie with the primary actress having no acting ability, the writing being almost non-existent, no real direction, and the lowest production value imaginable. Essentially it seemed like not a single person involved had any desire to make this movie.

My review isn't even regarding whether this movie is good or bad, as it's clearly meant to be a campy movie, as that's perfectly fine and often quite enjoyable. But rather there's something so completely off about this movie that it strikes me as extremely out of place. Like when you see a business in your town that seems to never have any customers, nor even seems to want any, but has been around forever supposedly making plenty of money and you get the idea that there might be something more to their business model. That is this movie. It wasn't made to be watched.

Really I'd give it a 1 but I did make it completely through the film, and there was 1 redeeming line near the end which I won't spoil but I presume was the only tag line planned for this entire film.

An entire season of nothing
25 November 2015
Warning: Spoilers
I watched the entire season, because if I decide to give a show a chance, I will see it through. It took me two months to finally feel bored enough to finish the season out. It was only 10 episodes yet seemed to drag on. The entire season there was no character development, no plot development, nothing of note occurred. Essentially **semi-but-not-really-spoiler** if you watched the pilot, you've basically seen the whole first season.

The characters are annoying and predictable, the dialog is superficial, the plot doesn't progress, the jokes are recycled. It's a comedy, but somehow every episode is depressing. Why watch a comedy with no good joke writing, that depresses and lets you down at every turn, pushes annoying characters that do not grow, learn or change and pretty much leaves you feeling like you wasted your time?

Was this a high school project?
27 October 2015
I was hoping for something at least adequate going into the film. They oversold the movie with a tag-line promising a lot, which I didn't let get my hopes up. Even though I kept expectations low going into the film it still disappointed in a major way.

The writing was that of an amateur. Often a movie can get by with bad writing if the actors help overcome the deficit, this was not the case. The acting felt like this was a school project, or maybe a church project? Actors missed their marks, had poor timing and delivered lines extremely inelegantly.

This isn't the movie you'll want to use to show the story of David and Goliath to your friends and family.

Rises above the anchors of patriotism and nationalism to deliver facts
13 December 2012
For the history buffs and those interested in a less partisan view of U.S. History, that's not always completely told in our school history books, I highly recommend Oliver Stone's Untold History of the United States.

History itself, and memories in general, inherit the bias of the observer. Further retelling, teaching, and writing of the event also serve to inject patriotism, nationalism, bias and opinion into the mix. This documentary series does well to attempt to strip out all of that, and to see the gray beyond just the black and white.

The show looks and sounds like the history shows we all grew up on in school. This should be known going into it, it is not an enthralling Oliver Stone dramatic movie, but it is well produced. For those interested in the subject matter it will easily keep your attention. In fact it's often difficult to break away momentarily because the pacing of the imagery and information rarely has a lull.
