Shocking.........ly bad!!
21 October 2010
I admit, I wanted to watch this as I love horror movies and this was listed on the internet as being possibly the sickest movie ever made. I can only imagine that the director rounded up a few college kids who had never made a film before and said to them, here's an old video camera and a couple of hundred bucks each, please go away and make me the sickest film you can think of. Off they went, camera permanently being juggled making it difficult to see what's going on, a deliberately grainy picture, supposedly for realism but realistically to cover up the poor effects in places, constant screaming from said college kids, probably because they couldn't learn more than 5 word sentences......it's bad, very very bad. No story line, just a series of sketches around ways to dismember, torture, maim, murder and have sex with, dying or dead people. Sick? Yes it is, more the idea of what they are doing than what you actually see. I won't add spoilers by going into detail, suffice to say, if you are a horror film fan and think this might be up your street, don't bother, it really isn't worth wasting 80 minutes of your life, there are plenty of decent horror films out there......this most certainly isn't one of them. I have never rated a film 1/10 before, I think I'm probably being generous with this one!!

Disappointing
21 October 2010
The original film surprised me as it was much better than I thought it would be - cheesy in places but the Vampires themselves were quite disturbing and by far the best I had seen for a few years in any Vampire film. Unfortunately, in this follow up they lose all of the menace they had first time around, they don't even speak in their 'native' tongue and it becomes an all too familiar standard modern day Vamp flick. The characters don't endear themselves at all, the acting isn't great and the special effects are OK at best. It's a shame as they had the chance to make another film that was a little different from the standard rubbish around today...True Blood, Twilight etc but they failed pretty miserably. It's watchable I suppose but you'll feel slightly let down at the end of it all.

A better 80's review than a football hoolie film
2 February 2010
After seeing some magazine articles about the film I was full of hope that this may be the best football hoolie film yet and certainly give a 'truer' representation of what life was like following football in the early eighties. Unfortunately, the reality is that it really carries no direction, you don't really find out anything about any of the characters and the lack of violence doesn't do the film any favours. Gary Oldman was a real 'psycho' in the original, Paul Anderson does a reasonable job but just wasn't menacing enough. The fight scenes were very poor, showing stand offs rather than actual fighting, that just wasn't what happened when two firms arranged a meet in the 80's. The music bought back a few memories and the best part of the film was the clothing, at least they got that right to a certain extent with Sergio, Fila, Ellesse and Pringle getting a good showing. Overall, it's a watchable film but it's not a great football film, not a lot of action and it isn't the best hooligan film to date, the original still takes that accolade. It's a shame but I don't think the original 'Firm' is likely to be beaten.

What a pile of rubbish!!
28 November 2006
This is one of the worst films I've seen in years!! You could randomly pluck 5 people off the streets and they could act better than anyone in this film. Absolute waste of time watching it. I only gave it a 2 as I like gory films but this is just plain rubbish. The acting (and I use that term VERY loosely) is abysmal, someone please tell me that the 5 main actors in this were making their first ever film?? Don't waste your time watching this. Hostel was a better film by some way. I cannot believe that someone has spent money making this, I hope for the producers sake it only cost $50,000 to make - it looks like a school project, made by kids who haven't got a clue. Did this even make it to the cinema??
