Night Swim could have been a frightening underwater horror movie experience with so much potential, but it sadly tanks with a weak story that rehashes elements from Amityville Horror, The Abyss, Jaws and even The Shining and barley developed characters that feel like copies of characters from other films. There is barley any screentime for the ghosts and their makeup looked amazing and they should have been showed more. Although not bad as everyone says it is, that doesn't mean it's a good movie, it's okay at best. If you want an even more frightening underwater horror movie experience, just watch Jaws.

School for Vampires is such a cute and comforting show, it feels like something out of Tim Burton's mind with such warm and engaging characters, a dark yet beautifully crafted art style and themes of love, belonging and fantasy. The character of Oskar is such a sweet and endearing character and his relationship with his crush, a girl called Sunshine, is an absolute highlight of this show. Not only does it feel reminiscent of Tim Burton, but also Gorillaz in terms of its art and South Park and Rugrats in terms of story and characters. School for Vampires is a show that everyone will love and enjoy.

Spider Verse 2 is by far in my opinion, the best movie of 2023. The screenplay is incredibly powerful and imaginative, the emotional weight and dialogue really sell it for me, it was like something out of Pixar's The Incredibles. The animation is by far the biggest highlight of the movie, so many art styles and colors were taking place all at once I couldn't stop seeing them in my head afterwards, probably the most beautiful looking animation I have ever seen, it was like a cross between Akira, The Incredibles and WALL-E. Spider Verse 2 is definitely the must see film of 2023, it is worth it. 🕸
Evil Dead Rise

Evil Dead Rise is by far the best horror film of the decade so far. Rise is everything that the 2013 remake should have been, it has the charm of the original films as well as the same dark, disgusting and depressing tone similar to the first Evil Dead and The Exorcist. The film also has powerful and strong characters and well crafted special effects that pair with the effects seen in the first Evil Dead and John Carpenter's The Thing, its unlike any horror film I've seen in 2023. Even though Ash isn't in it, You will have a bloody good time with the all new installment of The Evil Dead series.
Manos: The Hands of Fate

I remember seeing manos on an episode of mystery science theatre 3000 and I could not finish it because of how bad the movie is, but then I bought the DVD for the episode and I decided to watch it. After finishing it, it was really bad but I like the mystery science theatre segments not the movie that they riffed. It was badly acted, the story was nothing special it just about a family encountering evil people in cheesy costumes, the ending was horrible because it ends with this cult leader turning a mother and her underage daughter! Into his wives which is really disgusting. Overall Manos is a bad film that has no redeeming qualities whatsoever. Watch Jaws or The Shining or Heavy Metal instead those are better chill to the bone movies instead of Manos.
Stressed Eric

Not as good as the simpsons or king of the hill but it is worth checking out

When the simpsons came out on tv, it was a massive success and lots of cartoonists wanted to make their own simpsons we had king of the hill, duckman, the critic, and stressed eric. Stressed eric centres on a man who has struggles with anxiety, his kids and his job and at the end of every episode a vein pops out of his head and chokes him. I saw the first episode nativity with the American dubbing of hank Azaria from the simpsons. Eric is a relatable and tolerable character because of his family and challenging job but he feels similar to Homer Simpson and duckman but I still thought he was a good character. The show is not as well written as the simpsons or the critic or king of the hill as it focuses too much on eric being stressed all the time but I still find the show somewhat entertaining. If you like prime time animation like the simpsons and the critic then this show is for you.
Heavy Metal

Heavy metal is a trippy, crazy, thrilling, adult and fun animated film up there with heavy traffic and cool world. The stories are very entertaining to watch such as Captain Sternn, So Beauitiful, So Dangerous and Den. The soundtrack is very killer, featuring the likes of Black Sabbath and Journey it's a movie that sci-fi and 80s fans should check out.
