Challengers (2024)
Everything felt plastic and lazy
The tennis scenes were dreadful. Very unrealistic-"it felt more like a video game than real tennis.
How can you make a film about tennis - and not bother to make it credible?
The whole films felt plastic - the characters were not believable, particularly Zendye.
The music and the use of it - spoilt a lot of scenes- again it felt like a video game - tinny and plastic.
There was some humour at the beginning but it didn't last
It was a pretty unpleasant experience..Too many gimmicky over directed scenes. I was very pleased when it was over. It was claustrophobic..
I am not sure it's made for anyone over 15.
Sanctuary (2022)
It has a lyrical quality it is almost better on the 2nd watching
Very good, intelligent film well acted with sharp dialogue .
There are hidden layers. There is an almost lyrical flow to a lot of the talking. It is great to see a non formulaic thriller/ drama /comedy where nothing is predictable.
Both performances are exceptional and flawless.
It actually gets better on a 2nd viewing , you release you missed a lot of the humour and clever asides , the characters and their action make more sense.
I think the films reputation will grow in time and it could become a cult classic. It's good to know people are still putting money behind original films with depth.
No Time to Die (2021)
Awful
Terrible script, wooden acting disjointed plot.
Hard to understate how awful the dialogue and some of the acting was. Yes some of the shoes were nice and some good action sequences.
But surely they can do better than the pathetic dialogue?
Carol (2015)
Barren script
Surprised how barren the script was. There was very little dialogue , and nothing approaching a proper conversation.
So - we are left with cardboard cutout characters.
Why did they like each other - if they had nothing to say? Were people really that boring and dull in the 50s?
Afterburn/Aftershock (2017)
Awful in every way.
Awful in every way.
Terrible script
Terrible acting.
