Meteor Garden (2018)
Cringe
If this show wasn't that nostalgic to me I would've never rewatched it.
Let's start with each element :
The acting: it was full most of the with a lot of reactions feeling forced and unnatural, so much unnecessary yelling and overreacting went on. It's like when someone says something everyone had to react to it. You get also the opposite so in moment where a reaction is supposed to be over the top they had no reactions whatsoever.
The plot: I get that this follow the original but then so many things were added and removed and so many plot lines were unnecessary. The whole show summed up is basically DMS trying to get SC but she's either too dumb to understand it too afraid to take a step forward. So many plot holes as well for example they graduate and the. After a couple of episodes they are back to uni. Did the writers forget or what!! And how many kidnapping scenes were written at this point!! They constantly added this scenario to prove how much DMS lived SC and that they will never separate even in the last episode he kidnaps her to marry her. How about cops coming out of nowhere, characters falling out of nowhere, new characters introduced only for them to either kidnap or fall in love with our female protagonist. Pranks all the time eve the characters supposedly were so injured or they had no business doing such thing. There are just so many I could never mention them all. I also don't understand how every male falls in love with SC Istg if they had Ximen and/or Meizou fall in love with her too I wouldn't have been surprised. That gets me to the third aspect
The characters: SC character in here is so weak and embarrassing. She's so clumsy and always getting tricked. She is cowardly and all about words and is impulsive when she shouldn't be and not when she should be. Like who decides to go to a foreign country with no one and no connections and only money in a wallet and no basic understanding of the language except our female protagonist. Si was wild obviously but I which they had removed certain abusive scenes in the original it was SA full on but kissing someone against their will is SA too. He's always punching things and yelling and joking around. Lei had an interesting character but then they made him centered around the main female character to the point where his whole character was served nothing but creating a second lead syndrome, he's also too good he gives up our main FMC for his friend and still protects them I felt bad for they had done to him. Meizou was boring. Ximen was very typical and Xiazou was even worse than SC she was the dumbest there is in the show.
The fashion : this is a whole another level of cringe from DMS hair to SC outfits like what was the director thinking giving her such bad choices that made her physique look so terrible the female actress got bullied because of how terrible she looked In the show. I know SC is meant to be average but she wasn't meant to be dressing up like this in the main version she never looked worse than the rest but here she managed to dress even worse than « commoners » in this show.
The dialogue : was lame and cliche at best. There were so many things that didn't need to be said but no how to make 48 episodes without unnecessary things.
This dragged in too much but the point is if this wasn't sth I had watched when I was much younger and if it didn't hold such a place for me I would've given it 1 star without hesitation but it is what it is .

Cringe
There were so many cringe scenes and unnecessary drama.
So many scenes were created to lure the viewer and when you look at them afterwards they just don't make sense.
The timing is also wrong. Characters age within a few months and stay the same after a few years. So much yelling and threatening was going on. Characters changing sides every other episode.
The cringe I felt each time a character had a breakdown for no reason or had to act completely shocked was too much. The romance was weird as well it was just off. Like the characters would be so in love and then the next thing you know they are betraying each other. Also how could some of them afford to live in the penthouse when they clearly didn't have all that money. And the part with the double characters was too much. Why did they have to make them look alike and the fact that it doesn't match the pictures they had shown of her in the first season's beginnings. So many plot holes and to top it all off the ending was a disaster. How the hell did we get that I don't understand. They all fought for their children and suddenly they didn't care anymore.
It's easy to spot these things the first time you watch it but because of the plot shocks you don't care but once you watch it the second time and are no longer shocked you can see how messy this show was.

What is this
The amount of glorified violence and misogyny in this show is insane. Constantly pushing females around, saying that they can kill them and claim it to be honor killing so no one can say a thing, insulting them in every way, the males get to do whatever it is that they want but the females get called names. The insults thrown here and there because they are women " don't listen to women they don't know a thing" " women don't know what they are talking about" " all women do is talk and gossip" when the males themselves were so childish and irresponsible. The main female character was brutalized here they only saw her as an object and every few episodes one of them would try to force himself on her and that was okay. I can keep on going about this one but let's stop here.
I understand this was adapted but if it wanted to be applicable to the Arab world things shouldn't have been like this. If the justification of all the sexism in this show is that it's how women are treated in the Arab world then most of the things in this show would've never happened. Arabs do not take sex outside of marriage easily. Families are mostly conservative and even the open minded ones do not accept their children having children outside of marriage.
The fillers were insane as well again yes this is a family drama but I didn't need a story line for the sister of one of the main female characters or her parent or any of of most of the stories to be honest.
The acting was a good by most of the cast even though sometimes it was a but unbelievable or extreme making it unnatural.

What is this ?
I'll write this to not forget the reasons as to why I shouldn't watch this again:
1. The whole thing was filled of people sexually using other people when they were vulnerable.
2. A lot of plot lines didn't need to occur, they added them for the drama's sake as if there were not enough already.
3. So many scenes and moments were exaggerated, whereas in real life if said things were to happen, they would be unrealistic and cringe to say the least.
4. The Female character changed careers as if it's the easiest thing in the world
5. This whole relationship was wrong from the very beginning. The two of them were too self-centred to have what it takes for a relationship to work
6. They made the female character like many other consumed media very weak and goofy; it was sometimes very painful to watch.
7. Everyone falls in love with her because of angelic she is or seems to be
8. They completely at certain points forgot the plot lines and went back to how things were before a few episodes, off-putting the viewer and disrespecting them.
9. "Women tearing down other women for men" is very strong here. It is very misogynistic, as if to say well women can never have something more important and fulfilling than love.
10. So you're telling me that a girl who grew without parents in a poor neighbourhood didn't have any goals for herself and her life. Lke she just went with whatever came by?!
11. Her back story doesn't match with her character at all, the story she has must make her someone who distrusts people and is focused on herself and family, yet they made the male character who lost his parents to death normally the untrusting type just to fit in to the fantasy and stereotype of the rich mysterious bad boy.
12. The lies were too much yet the characters believed them because well you're in TV.
13. The overly dramatic reactions from the characters when they find something out like the female character's selling of the drawing was too much, if such thing were to happen in real life it would be very normal and worst-case scenario they fire her, but no you're in Turkish series again.
14. They kept throwing characters in and out of the show for the sake of drama and making a stronger connection between the main leads.
15. Oh yes, he leaves for years and comes back, and she is just like let's hop in again! Come one.
There are more flaws and problems with this series, but it was just made for entertainment, never was made to receive critical acclaim. With that in mind it is not the worst thing out there.

Like i care?!!!
Yeah whatever this show was meant to be about it totally didn't do a good job portraying it or talking about it... i see why some like it but sweet Jesus the cringe, the lame characters.. that was too much for me.
Emily in Paris (2020)
You call it fashion, i call it trash
What's the hype about?
The lame plot? The terrible acting? The crimes comitted against fashion? The cliches? The dull, pretentiously woke characters that exist now everywhere? Have people gone mad?!!!
Baht Oyunu (2021)
Well, what was i expecting!?
This is beyond horrible, horrific, etc... wtf. The plot: same as every other turkish drama. The pacing: slower than a turtle. The whole show: unnecessary.
